OHHH FFAWWK!!! IT FINALLY CRACKED THANK YOU SOO MUCH SAVING THIS VIDEO SO I CAN ALWAYS COME BACK TO IT ❤❤❤ I tried upright position first, didn’t work, then I did the first one, laying down omg !!! You’re a life saver. Can you help with my neck/shoulder too? Lol
Hi Tom I love your smm in fact all your suggestions but a tip which has really helped is learning all about hip rotation when walking How and where I place my feet I’ve been doing it “Not good” for such a long time Any thoughts always appreciated.
I’m not too big on the perfect walking/sitting/stance etc, I’m more as long as you can move your joints fully the ways they’re supposed to and are stable then day to day move whatever way you like really 😄
Cheers Tom I haven’t moved and wiggled like this in years 💃 🎶 Mostly my bits and bobs had fell asleep. Couldn’t live without SMM now Thank you for your reply 👍

I have extremely tight groin muscles to go down to my inner thigh n the front As I have injury to my lower spine will I never be able to get relief in these muscles ?!
They used to scare me, but I pushed through it and bared it by breathing and relaxing into it and then they disappear without having to release the stretch which then helps you get deeper as you're more relaxed now.
Thanks for pointing out that one should push the knee down less far if poor internal hip rotation pushes the stretch into the knee. My left hip has very little internal rotation; my right hip is much better. It seems unnecessary to spend much time on my right hip. With regard to the first stretch, would it be possible to do both legs at once, pushing the knees down towards the center?
How is he wearing jeans in like EVERY video? Regardless of how flexible (well, inflexible, if I'm being honest...) I am, I will be ripping jeans. And I can only wear boot cuts.
My left knee hurts. I’ll feel bad for your right while you can feel bad for my left lol I found bringing the foot in a little closer and not ego stretching helped a little. While also tucking the pelvis so that the lower back makes contact with the ground.
I get a lot out of your content -do you take requests? I have hypermobility and have dislocated my shoulder >20 times. Would love to hear your thoughts on stability routines for those with hypermobility
Can you explain please what's happening to the hip joint when you can't sit up straight in 90/90? It feels like there's a blockage, more so on my right side
Can be the shape of your hip or a learned pattern just from it not being addressed for years, your brain can almost deem the range as not safe, mainly it’s just gradual and consistent exposure to it and it will improve, very rarely do I meet someone that doesn’t make a change to it, some people can just take 6 months to a year to make a noticeable lasting change
Sometimes the inside of my hip will lock when I’m in a sitting position at a desk. It’s so painful to stand straight up. Has this got to do with it flexibility I know I have some arthritis.
Oh yeah if you start to move it more and improve the strength of your hips overall it should stop happening, wouldn’t be writing everything off to arthritis really
sounds like your knee is compensating for limited hip internal rotation! Make sure it's your hip that's stretching, not your knee! Try not to push so far next time
Possibly, or your hips are very tight so your knees are compensating for them! Try this one: th-cam.com/video/42s8tcC92qQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EtyMNjB0TZz59Qz8
I literally was doing 90-90s today and thought that 90-90s are really useless when my hips are as jacked up as mine. Then I happened upon this video coincidentally. Brilliant. Perfect timing and great explanation. Definitely going to try these.
It’s like anything really, some stretches require you to have a certain level of flexibility first to be able to do so that’s the only reason they would need avoided. A lot of our content is to get people to a level that they can do any stretches like that safely, so if you can do the 90/90 position comfortably then the hurdler is ok to do 😄

Oh gosh the sounds effects 😂 The creaking especially got me!
Another fantastic share, and always sooo 😂 entertaining! One of best money can buy with another great tidbit here indeed.

I started doing these in a sitting position when I first started your program...
it helped SO much to loosen things up
Fantastic I’ve had pain for months now with clicking and huge knots on my groin! Will defo try this later on!

I’m 55 with recent insidious onset of right hip joint pain. Should I do this as “rehab”, or would that make the pain worse?
I have extremely tight groin muscles to go down to my inner thigh n the front

The sound effects 😂
...are making me very uncomfortable!!
how does one embrace a cramp?
I love cramps, i always say there are no bad cramps, women probably would hate ne for this^^

Can do both at the same time, wouldn’t be forcing it all the way to the ground tho, too much stress on the knee
Thank you@@TomMorrison

I have bad piriformis pain and my internal hip rotation was horrible compared to external rotation. Could this be the cause of the piriformis pain?
Can be! Would search our blog at tommorrison.uk for piriformis 😄
What if you have a total hip replacement?
Yes
This didn't make my right knee feel very good the next day. Any suggestions?
sounds like your knee is compensating for limited hip internal rotation! Make sure it's your hip that's stretching, not your knee! Try not to push so far next time
@@TomMorrison thank you sir👍👍
You can't force your hip into internal rotation, the muscles have to activate in specific orientation to do this. Good luck with this.
Where are we supposed to feel the movement? I feel it in My groin área But sometimes where My leg conects to My glute
yes that's the right sort of area!
I feel tightness in my hamstring below my butt when doing these is this normal?
Quite common! It should get more mobile with practice 💪💪
What do i do if it hurt over the leg
I especially love the crinkly sounds hahahahahahha it’s sound like my body
😅😅
If you have a tight posterior hip capsule then this stretching might not help, especially if you have FAI like me. Need to stretch the capsule first.
yep got to try lots of different things!
How to know if i have that ?
You've tried stretching and it doesn't work@@imbazed22
This gives me knee pain..
I think my hip is too rigid and my knees are doing the stretching
Possibly, or your hips are very tight so your knees are compensating for them! Try this one: th-cam.com/video/42s8tcC92qQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EtyMNjB0TZz59Qz8
@@TomMorrison thank you so much bro
i have 0 internal hip rotation. what does this mean?
I did this a 1000 times. I feel a stretch in the capsule? But it doesn't increase internal ROM at all
I literally was doing 90-90s today and thought that 90-90s are really useless when my hips are as jacked up as mine. Then I happened upon this video coincidentally.
Brilliant. Perfect timing and great explanation. Definitely going to try these.
Awesome!!
What does that mean if that really hurts my knees
Don’t push as far initially and let yourself get some consistency with it in an easier way
@@TomMorrison I figured out if I moved my feet not as far out, and made sure to press my arch of my back into the floor, my knees didn't hurt anymore.
A fitness instructor told me that one of the "forbidden " stretches was the hurdler stretch. What's your opinion on it?❤

But whenever I try to do this
My knees feel like they will rip off and my lower leg would come off separately
Can take a bit of time to wiggle with, our delicate knees follow along would be good to check out!
@@TomMorrison Thank you Sir. I shall check it out
Can we call the second one 'Bizzaro pigeon'?
Yes 😎
Why does this hurt so much
Why jeans?? 😊
This isn’t exercising, just simple stretches you should be doing throughout the day 😄
Why do they get like this?
Just lack of movement really!
As a person who lost his meniscus I would not recommend to do this exercise!
Plenty of people with meniscus removed are fine with this, me being one of them 😊 you may need to work at other exercises to build up to this just 🙌
If you were never prevented from W sitting during childhood you won't have to do this
What’s w sitting? Low Squat ?
Pretty much yeah! Sitting crossed legged too is important
Is it still possible to achieve a W sit? It feels impossible I barely see any progress
Im really stoned, but what was that crinkle sound??!!
I can’t even do that man am I cooked
Use your other leg to add weight!
Changes the pelvis position
I had leg pain for 5 days nowss it's gone ty

imagine giving advice and never taking off your jeans lol
