The moment you realise years and years after playing C&C3 that two of the actors in the cut scenes are both in Battlestar Galactica... and they're both Cylons!
CNC 3 is a great game on its own. The only issue I have with it is theme wise its completely different from Tiberian Sun in both looks and sound. Tiberian Sun was a dark future dystopia with a distinct retro feel. The soundtrack for TS was made by Frank Klepacki who made all the other CNC soundtracks before EALA took over. CNC 3 on the other hand has a much more American Military vs Red Terrorists feel more like CNC generals than what it's predecessor was. It feels like they took a step back from the future into more modern times which to me just clashes with the narrative. We had the modern military battle between Nod and GDI in the original CNC, to go back now is to feel like technology got "stupider". Otherwise a good game though. Kane lives in death.
My take on it is that the mutation that was in sun was finally destroyed by the tib glaciers all over the planet that finally crystallized all the carbon matter in all life.
@@uuamenator I do kinda agree with you. I never understood people calling Tib Sun "realistic" "dark" "sad" I mean, it's a good game. But, it felt so cartoonish to me.
Randomly played the other night after a long time. I quickly got sucked into it, such a fun a game!! Over 10 years old but definitely still worth playing today.
I remember when I was 9 or 10 my dad showed me this game for the Xbox 360. I played it all the time and would never get off it. My favorite faction was the Scrin but now I kinda stick to GDI. I rebought the game on steam and I’m having a blast!
C&C 3 had my favorite campaign. I thought it did a great job of world-building and I loved how it had a unified story where each side you play told the same story from a different point of view.
I had no idea this game had an extension ! I used to battle against my brother and father on this game, but as the GDI player, i was always a bit behind. But now i shall have my revenge !
Playing through the GDI campaign again for the past few days, and I agree that it's one of the best entries in the franchise, and in fact is one of my overall favorites to this day, especially on the aesthetic and lore front.
Hard to believe it's 12 years old... Shit i'm old :D I remember playing this as the first game i ever played on an xbox at christmas time...still love it to this day. Rip C&C. You live on through our memories
@@Zade_95 same here. I feel a bit suspicious since EA is at it again but given they're just publishing it and it's the actual C&C boys remaking it, it could do the series justice for years of desecration
I love this game it is one of my favorites but C&C: Rivals is also a great game. Many people who hate it on principle but tried it on released, changed their mind and loved it. So C&C is still alive in my opinion, not as grand as its predecessors but is still enjoyable to outsmart or outplay your opponent in short 3 minute-ish matches.
May be alive but tbh a shadow of it's former self. Can't really match the glory of the older C&Cs for a quickfire, microtrsnsaction filled p2w mobile game. I saw a snapshot of AoE2 that was releasing in 99 and the article called it a "possible C&C clone"...to think at one point C&C was a titan of RTS that no one could match (at the time) to become this. It's both sad and admirable
Honestly art style is actually so good that it still looks good! With story I feel like a big misstep was how it didn't really build upon the previous game. Only Kane is a returning character and as far as story goes ''there was a war and GDI won it'' is about as things influence story in this one.
"" "The Steel Talons may now be lost to history, but in their prime, they were but steps away from condemning the Brotherhood to that same dusty fate. - Kane[1] ” The Steel Talons is a unique experimental technology division of GDI that specializes in utilizing untested technologies, providing near overwhelming force and firepower. The Talons were formed after the resolution of Firestorm Crisis, by General Joshua Mitchell. Mitchell's belief in having a substantially more highly advanced weaponry than any Nod opposition shaped the Talons' combat doctrine. Thanks to General Mitchell, the group was a test bed for a variety of the state-of-the-art military technologies, many of which were adopted into regular use by GDI forces by the Third Tiberium War. Notably, the division still uses mechanized walkers, such as the Titan and Wolverine. Both have been redesigned since the Second Tiberium War. Steel Talons is not the official designation of the unit; the name was given to the unit by Mitchell's admirers in the media, notably the famed war hero Nick Parker. Because of their unique purpose, the Division is somewhat autonomous from the rest of GDI.[2] "
The ambiente score are very good here, it really enhance that post apocalyptic atmosphere, especially in the Red Zone maps. Some tracks even stick in my mind, like the Research Initiative for example.
"These sonic emitters cut through 'em like a vibro knife through polybutter" and "The security at this place is tighter than X's asshole" are my favorite lines.
@@uuamenator It was the last one. Haven't played in a while but I think one of the NOD commanders was a hot blonde and they were joking about her I think.
I've been replaying this game, and it's held up very well, and I seem to appreciate it even more now. I always liked the game, and thought it was fun, but for some reason upon release it was more like a "Ah cool, they made a third one!" I got into C&C from the original, and remember the Tiberian Sun launch being a pretty big deal too! And while I seem to prefer those titles, I have to admit that there are things about them that haven't aged as well, but I still very much love them. C&C 3 is of course a lot newer, so would have aged better, but it's still incredibly fun and one of the most content-heavy titles of the series! Fantastic review for a fantastic game!
Tiberium Wars has such a good and kinda intense plot too. Even though it is meant to be a B movie I am quite surprised on how gritty it can get sometimes
Thank you for doing this review! I have to be honest, I was really not a fan of C&C3 when it came out. The initial release of the game was very unbalanced and I did not enjoy the introduction of the Skrin at all. On top of that, I had tons of frame rate and performance issues on my PC at the time which really soured the whole experience for me. But, after seeing this review I might just give the game another chance. I have not played Kane's Wrath at all and I am pretty sure that performance is not going to be a problem with my current hardware, so it should be a quite different experience.
@@Zade_95 for KW players that have Integrated GPU dont forget to choose Dedicated GPU, for me for some reason Windows set Integrated GPU as default for KW but dedicated GPU for TW.

Hey At around 11:42 you mention not being able to purchase the game on steam, not sure if the game is region locked but at least in the Uk I can purchase the game fine including the Kanes Wrath DLC and Red Alert, the other game in the series. Not entirely sure if you mentioned this in the video but I can confirm from personal experience that the steam version works wonders on a windows 10 system including mod support! it can be a bit finicky to set up its a great time! Great video! this is 100% one of my favourite games of all time, an absolute classic game!
I liked Global Conquest for the fact it has a bit more strategy than just controlling a single or two bases. You need to think a bit more strategic on where you send your units and how you use them by taking personal control over them. The one thing I hate about it is the fact that GDI forces normally outgun and outnumber NOD battalions and attack with everything they have against you with little to time to build defenses or more units. But either way it's good. You act more like a Supreme General than a field commander.
@@wunderwaffeyt4077 It is just super busted. You can just make squats that autoresolve every encounter to your favor and then the mode crumbles to pieces.
Easily the best game of the whole seria! The Tiberium Universe and this dystopic setting here are doing it for me. Shame on EA that they destroyed this Universe and the complete C&C game type. Shame on them! Shame on them! Shame on them! Ring the bells - SHAME
I started replaying the game after a decade & noticed that the campaign is super hard - turns out patch 1.9 which I never touched had ruined the campaign by halving the amount of ressources a player gathers per second. For any new players it would be good to mention that there's mods & other ways by which they can restore the campaign to its original state. If the campaign is too hard to beat, it was never intended to be played this way. The patch was created only thinking about multiplayer.
I was happier than a pig in sh*t when this game came out.. C&C was the very first game I played on N64, what makes C&C very unique is the Live action cutscenes with well known Hollywood actors. The game was and still is easy to learn if you’re new to the franchise because of it’s simplicity. Only 1 source of resources and all you have to do is spam units. Probably the only RTS that offers players to spam units that doesn’t get repetitive unless you played it for over 10 years like I have but that also comes to down to the fact this franchise will always have a place in my heart. I’d say the same for the DOOM franchise as Doom and C&C was the only two games I had on the N64 as the only gaming platform I had. The next franchise I was introduced to was Age of Empires thanks to Kellogg’s Korn Flakes for the free copy of the game, kids today would never believe that we got a free game in a cereal box. Glade to say I’m so thankful to have be born in the early 90’s.
A great game indeed... though I did miss the mutants and the old Tiberian flora & fauna that were established in Tiberian Sun and Firestorm. I also wish the Scrin campaign was a bit longer - playing as an evil alien invader can be so satisfying :)

You can find C&C3 specifically here: store.steampowered.com/app/24790/Command__Conquer_3_Tiberium_Wars/ Along with a bundle for all of the Modern C&C Games: store.steampowered.com/bundle/951/Command__Conquer_Pack/ Sadly anything before C&C3 is only available in the Ultimate Collection exclusive to Origin.
Still playing this game for sure. My favorite of the CnC franchise, even if Tibrian Sun was my first. Even if you somehow get bored, mods will add a lot more experience.
So who else had a general sense of kleptomania and stealing enemy scvs to build the enemy factions stuff to assert dominance in this and red alert because thats like the main thing i do other then turtle.
One of my most memorable memory of any CnC game is how satisfying it is making an army of Juggernauts and making use of snipers for them to snipe halfway across the map, Other is how impenetrable a Scrin Thunderstorm created by their aircraft carriers are. And then narrowly avoided an ant-like army line of mammoth tanks by making full use of the fully salvaged stealth tech my squad of Avatars have in one LAN game I had with a friend. It's enjoyable both for short minutes and heck 6 hours on that particular LAN game I last mentioned 😅 we ended up both turtling, defeated the NPC and scouring the mpa for resources all the while destroying each other's Superweapons whenever one is nearing its activation, I ended up having to make tens of anti air guns and tons of rocket launchers standing by my nuke and he still manage to destroy it with an orbital drop squad of planes.
I understand where you are coming from, Brother. But Kane and our idea told us, at least to infiltrate the enemy GDI, for getting information and knowledge about their weapon systems. ;)
I love scrin’s late game army. It is something out of this world. Just imagine your GDI enemies are using petty tanks and then you reveal your giant alien op battleships :)
First CNC game I saved up for and bought with my own money, so it's my favorite for sentimental reasons as well as game play ones. Shame the unmentionable game completely failed to pick up on the dangling plot threads this one left.
It's just the story. Like WTF WERE THEY THINKING. (Spoiler) KANE LEAVING THE WORLD AND THE TIB IS JUST LIKE (POOF) AND ITS GONE. Just like the two of the series
Watching this video almost had me tears, I used to play this 24/7 since i was 6 years old and cause of this video I had to buy the game again! Thank you author!
Thought I was the only person who remembered this game lol, very fond memories, as I loved this game, in fact i still have both original boxers of the PC DVD, I’m going to install them later today.........I always favoured the Black Hand faction the most with its Purifiers
2007 was a golden age of RTSes: Command and Conquer 3 and Supreme Commander both launched. They couldn't be more different but they're also two of the best games ever made, let alone among the best RTSes.
I think this felt like a return to the old school C&C with the return of the campaign intro movies and old sidebar (as opposed to the Generals UI). I also really liked the story, acting and campaign missions. The gameplay was good as well. Definitely a good game. Red Alert 3 however was ridiculous. I'd rather pretend that game doesnt exist.
Command and Conquer 3 is also my absolute favourite in the series too, no questions asked. Just about everything has been improved and done right, and represents the pinnacle of the series, at least in the Tiberium saga, in my opinion. The fact that a sizeable number of people are still duking it out through online multiplayer like a professional sport to this day speaks volumes about how high a bar it had managed to set and reach for its time.
I wish there was a way to play the campaigns in their unpatched versions, as I hear they're much easier due to the multiplayer changes being applied to the campaigns as well, all for the worse.
Actually, much harder for the worse. The AI naturally cheats and gets more resources than you'll ever get. Eventually completely overwhelming the player while they try to get a decent army going.
@@Kylesico912x That's what I meant to say, looking at the confusing syntax of my previous statement. The multiplayer changes that carry over to the campaign in its updated state turns it flat-out into fake difficulty.
great review. as an CNC fan Sins i was a little kid i loved all of them (besides tib wars 4 and past that). want to dive right back into the game (even if i have just played the red alert series again) could the next review be red alert 2 or 3? would be great! love your vids
One of the best things C&C3 had that no other title in the series did was the fact that all of GDI, Nod, and Scrin campaigns were connected in one canon story. Something I wish the other titles did
One of the few gripes I have against CnC3 is lack of game speed settings. Everything is a horrific rush, and lots of additional abilities don't make it any easier. That, and how the Forgotten were downgraded to "small-brain Fallout supermutants with machineguns". Otherwise, it holds well even a decade later.
CnC3 was by far the pinnacle of CnC games, it was and still is incredible, a real pleasure to play and I love all the FMV cutscenes, a nice reward for playing the mission. 10/10 still play today.
Agree this series had its flaws [especially those babysitting moments of units not going on patrol themselves] but I do miss this series but will never play those lootboxes online crappy versions.
There is the issue that one of the multiplayer balance patches broke the campaign. When they rebalanced the game economy to slow the build-up in multiplayer, they didn't do the same for the campaign, so while the AI has a full-power economy, the player is stuck at ~60% of the income they have. It's quite frustrating when I just want to play through the campaigns and see the story again. It's particularly noticable on certain missions and causes seemingly-random massive difficulty spikes, most noticeably on the Sarajevo missions for each side. It's kinda frustrating. I'm not actually that good at playing the game, but I still enjoy it for the amazing and campy storyline. Even the one mod I found that reverts that change doesn't fix the problem, since it replaces the prospector/surveyor with walls for some godforsaken reason, which breaks a couple of the missions (plus it's just a bad trade, walls aren't terrible, but they're nothing on getting an easy expansion).
Jordan Jacobii cnc3 TW>KW but it's a matter of preference. I play and enjoy both. Neither are perfect but both are awesome. If TW had the community patches KW got, it'd be the perfect CNC game.

The moment you realise years and years after playing C&C3 that two of the actors in the cut scenes are both in Battlestar Galactica... and they're both Cylons!
GDI has been compromised !
Patrick Eriksson it's explained as Nod got a lot of setbacks while GDI suffered penny pinching as budget is shifted from military to reclamation.
OMg I so agree with you
@@uuamenator you're wrong, be better
My take on it is that the mutation that was in sun was finally destroyed by the tib glaciers all over the planet that finally crystallized all the carbon matter in all life.
@@uuamenator I do kinda agree with you. I never understood people calling Tib Sun "realistic" "dark" "sad" I mean, it's a good game. But, it felt so cartoonish to me.
Um, the games are still on Steam. I'm looking at them right now.
And I even bought it recently
Man,I remember playing this game like 8-10 years ago as a kid,I was so impressed with the story and cutscenes, brings back the memories
The B movie cut scenes are one of my all time favourite things in Command & Conquer series love them red alerts where my favourite.
Randomly played the other night after a long time. I quickly got sucked into it, such a fun a game!! Over 10 years old but definitely still worth playing today.
It's backwards compatible with Xbox one, and the Xbox live servers are still semi-active, as you can still get matches if you wait long enough
I am so glad to see that I am not the only weirdo who still plays C&C games. I just finished all the campaigns on Generals... this is next!
I remember when I was 9 or 10 my dad showed me this game for the Xbox 360. I played it all the time and would never get off it. My favorite faction was the Scrin but now I kinda stick to GDI. I rebought the game on steam and I’m having a blast!
Awesome to hear man!
@@Zade_95 Thanks!
Pretty much same story here lol, just now remembering it. It's much simpler than StarCraft but still has the same things that make it fun.
This multiplayer for this game when it came out was awesome. Wish they had servers up still.
Christian M you can still play online , download the 3rd party online mod read instructions it’s quite simple
C&C 3 had my favorite campaign. I thought it did a great job of world-building and I loved how it had a unified story where each side you play told the same story from a different point of view.
Games like these age like fine wine.
Cover Universe at War as well.
That was hell of a game
semp224 CnC and UaW crossover, when?
Bruh Orlock the eternal was a fucken badass, so sad that series never took off. Had a great soundtrack with Klepaki on board for it
I shall!
chunkblaster I wanted to see Nick Parker vs. Orlok the Eternal fight.
I had no idea this game had an extension ! I used to battle against my brother and father on this game, but as the GDI player, i was always a bit behind. But now i shall have my revenge !
Go get 'em soldier!
All C&C are classic to play, and with MODs? Infinite FUN!
Playing through the GDI campaign again for the past few days, and I agree that it's one of the best entries in the franchise, and in fact is one of my overall favorites to this day, especially on the aesthetic and lore front.
Hard to believe it's 12 years old...
Shit i'm old :D
I remember playing this as the first game i ever played on an xbox at christmas time...still love it to this day.
Rip C&C. You live on through our memories
Might be some life left in it with the remasters!! (I hope)
@@Zade_95 Fingers crossed!
Honestly art style is actually so good that it still looks good! With story I feel like a big misstep was how it didn't really build upon the previous game. Only Kane is a returning character and as far as story goes ''there was a war and GDI won it'' is about as things influence story in this one.
Steel Talons, non experimental technology division! On the contrary, they use outdated equipment other GDI divisions removed from service.
"" "The Steel Talons may now be lost to history, but in their prime, they were but steps away from condemning the Brotherhood to that same dusty fate.
- Kane[1] ”
The Steel Talons is a unique experimental technology division of GDI that specializes in utilizing untested technologies, providing near overwhelming force and firepower.
I always liked the game, and thought it was fun, but for some reason upon release it was more like a "Ah cool, they made a third one!"
I got into C&C from the original, and remember the Tiberian Sun launch being a pretty big deal too!
Agreed. It held up well even for people coming from SC2 graphics.
Down with E.A.!
Kane lives in death!
Silos needed
Tiberium Wars has such a good and kinda intense plot too. Even though it is meant to be a B movie I am quite surprised on how gritty it can get sometimes
Just came home from work and saw another Zade RTS video waiting for me, yessss 🙌
Glad to be of service!
Short answer: YES.
This is my favourite RTS and command and conquer . Graphically it totally stands up today and the gameplay is top notch!! Great game
Thank you for watching!
You should! Kane's Wrath is a ton of fun, and it runs well on nearly all modern hardware :)
@@Zade_95 for KW players that have Integrated GPU dont forget to choose Dedicated GPU, for me for some reason Windows set Integrated GPU as default for KW but dedicated GPU for TW.
I've just ordered my copy thanks for the video
Enjoy!
this game and kane's shares a bit of that ageless magic that Tib dawn and Tib sun had
I never panicked so much in an RTS until the Scrin invaded! I was really into the story as a kid, and the whole alien invasion thing really got me flabbergasted!
Hey
At around 11:42 you mention not being able to purchase the game on steam, not sure if the game is region locked but at least in the Uk I can purchase the game fine including the Kanes Wrath DLC and Red Alert, the other game in the series.
Not entirely sure if you mentioned this in the video but I can confirm from personal experience that the steam version works wonders on a windows 10 system including mod support! it can be a bit finicky to set up its a great time!
Great video! this is 100% one of my favourite games of all time, an absolute classic game!
Yeah, you're right! I checked and you can in fact grab it on Steam. My mistake :)
And thanks!
I still play KW and CC3. Unfortunately I only have them on xbox. But it's certainly better than nothing. Love these games.
Tiberiun Sun forever ! Thank you and have a nice day.
So randomly cool how the lost guy was in it. All the actors gave it their sincere best and made for a very engrossing experience.
No mention of awesome Global Conquest mode? :( I still love to play it and only wish it had bigger pool of maps.
It sucks it's percentage rather than Global Conquest. Is it too much to ask for a NOD World?
@@DavidMyrmidon Yeah, Global Conquest wasn't very good.
I loved how all 3 campaigns tie in together and how cool a surprise and unique the scrin campaign was
Easily the best game of the whole seria!
The Tiberium Universe and this dystopic setting here are doing it for me.
Shame on EA that they destroyed this Universe and the complete C&C game type.
Shame on them! Shame on them! Shame on them! Ring the bells - SHAME
If don't like it go see the cancel game like the incursion, tiberium FPS, and renegade 2
Tiberium wars was my first CnC game my dad showed me, it was amazing but sadly my computer can’t run the game for some reason
Try out the Origin version, seems to work very well!
Agreed! I miss the mutants :(
Try the mods, have a good T. Sun units
God I loved this game back in the day when it was super busy online. I loved 2v2 it was just amazing.

Actually Command & Conquer 3, and Red Alert 3, along with their expansions are still on steam!
You can find C&C3 specifically here: store.steampowered.com/app/24790/Command__Conquer_3_Tiberium_Wars/
Along with a bundle for all of the Modern C&C Games: store.steampowered.com/bundle/951/Command__Conquer_Pack/
Sadly anything before C&C3 is only available in the Ultimate Collection exclusive to Origin.
Right you are! My mistake - thanks for pointing this out :)
@@Zade_95 Anytime! Glad to be of help c:
This was my first RTS and I loved it. I remember how the hours went by like minutes & I can still play this game today (2022) and still have a blast.
I wish this game has 64 bit version and a 60fps support. The only best thing EA can do right now is to remaster this game.
Gotta be honest, i did that ool
It's so much fun to go and attack the enemy with their own weapons and tanks
One of my most memorable memory of any CnC game is how satisfying it is making an army of Juggernauts and making use of snipers for them to snipe halfway across the map,
Other is how impenetrable a Scrin Thunderstorm created by their aircraft carriers are.
I never stopped. Always play as Nod, though. Never actually used GDI or Scrin, unless it's Campaign. Scrin are complete bastards.
So overpowered
I understand where you are coming from, Brother.
But Kane and our idea told us, at least to infiltrate the enemy GDI, for getting information and knowledge about their weapon systems.
;)
I love scrin’s late game army. It is something out of this world. Just imagine your GDI enemies are using petty tanks and then you reveal your giant alien op battleships :)
"Nod crush" for the win!
It’s strange seeing a minor resurgence in this game/expansion. They just became back compat on Xbox and they’re great.
Great stuff, man! I have fond memories of this one, too.
Thanks dude :)
That's awesome - similar with me having it be the second in the series I ever played!

Ok...
I like them!
the graphics are good IMHO.
Nevermind...
I know right, always good to see games that old sticking around!
I remember a map in multiplayer where you had to survive against the scrim horde mode. It was a great map
great review. as an CNC fan Sins i was a little kid i loved all of them (besides tib wars 4 and past that). want to dive right back into the game (even if i have just played the red alert series again)
could the next review be red alert 2 or 3? would be great! love your vids
Cheers!
The next couple are already planned and in production - but don't worry. Red Alert 2 (and 3) won't be far away!
If you watched this and have an urge to play it, please do the CnC 3 community a favor and play some matches with us on CnC online.
Where is Emperor Battle for dune ?.One of the best rts game ever.
One day - the list is long right now!
To this day one of the best UIs ever in any video games ever
"Bury these fools!"
CnC3 was by far the pinnacle of CnC games, it was and still is incredible, a real pleasure to play and I love all the FMV cutscenes, a nice reward for playing the mission. 10/10 still play today.
The only EA(LA) done right before the disaster which no one care about it.
For C&C4 please be neutral, and fair as possible, no bias etc.
Don't worry, that's the plan. I'd love to come out of it and say it's good!
You're onto something with a Mammoth Walker that would transform into a Tank. I soooo love RTS"s
yoooo
CNC3 is the greatest RTS game on earth.
C&C3 kane's wrath is :) But the base game is also fun.
Jordan Jacobii cnc3 TW>KW but it's a matter of preference. I play and enjoy both.
Neither are perfect but both are awesome. If TW had the community patches KW got, it'd be the perfect CNC game.
