Fan-tastic! Although I don't agree with everything, you gave your best. That is pretty good in my book. Fair and expansion overview as usual. Thanks for sharing. Bravo!
I started with Red Alert, the one, which than had the TibWars timeline and the Red Alert timeline. Personally, i´m more a fan of the Tib Wars timeline, because it´s more dark than Red Alert. And i like grim dark games and stories
i love CnC red Alert 2 not only because of how fun it is, but because of how small the file size is of the game and it is easy to put it on any computer
Tiberian Sun is the king of atmosphere and intrigue. It has it all. Earth is a barren alien planet with mysterious lifeforms that we only see a few of. Soldiers need life-support suits to thrive. Humanity has sci-fi technology but they're at the mercy of ion storms and the local fauna. All with a great soundtrack to boot (Dusk Hour) This setting could lend itself to a top-down RPG like Fallout quite well. It's a shame Tib Wars walked back on most of this.
Red Alert Series will always be my favorites. The absurdity, humor all around fun, the charisma, unit design, it all went for RTS tropes and ran with it. It's like they realized warfare packed into the small format of an RTS can't be really serious and it's rather silly if you try to make it serious, so they went the completely different direction, making up wacky and crazy units that are very creative and fun, instead of imitating something sensible :)
Thanks for the video, pretty great trip down on nostalgia lane overall. I'd rank RA2:YR as first, that and Zero Hour surely surpassed their original game. Oh, and would rank Renegade waaay lower, that game's only saving grace was the cnc vibe when you compared it to the fps games of its time, and it only became duller since then. Also, I'd still love to see your take on Emperor:Battle for Dune. Soundtrack is among the very best OG Wsetwood put together, on par w RA2.
Man, I'd love to see a Red Alert 2 remaster with some quality of life changes. I'd love to play it with more refined controls we are used to from modern RTS games (attack move, proper shift-queuing come to mind)
The amount of time my buddy and I spent playing yuri’s revenge eating bowls of rolo ice cream in his basement all summer as kids. Man oh man watching this video gave me crazy nostalgia. I still have number 3 kickin around that I like to boot up now and then. I need to find a copy of number 2. I think the factions and the sprawling city’s made for great gameplay
I can't say anything about other RTS games as I have not played them but, as a generals player I do say putting generals above zero hour is criminal, it's an upgrade on all sides, new factions, the challenge missions and new campaign elevate it higher than the base game by a lot in my opinion.
When playing tiberium wars I loved it for quite a while and would play it for hours on end although I eventually got bored and almost moved on until I discovered Kane's Wrath which completely revived my entire outlook on the franchise. This made me go on to get other games and start getting involved with the community to the point where I would not be here watching this if Kane's Wrath didn't exist and I easily have at least 2x as many hours on it compared to tib wars. Tiberium wars is good but for me Kane's Wrath is just so much better
One big thing with Tiberium wars is it’s incredibly easier to mod and use these mods , so I can just recommend trying them out and replaying the campaigns with them they get insane and a lot of fun very quickly if u play with Tiberium advanced on the gdi White House mission be aware that the MCV gets stuck outside the map but can be selected and commanded inside by rotating the camera and pulling a selection field towards the black edge
Hey Zade. Been watching your vids for quite some time and I have to say, I've been an avid fan of the series since I was a wee lad and I have to say that I COMPLETELY AGREE with your top 5 and I was very happy to see Renegade get a pretty decent spot on the list too since I LOVED Renegade back in the day. Great vid mate.
Generals was probably my fav purely because you were less restricted in where you build. Kanes wrath is 2nd for me. I have c&c 4 but have never played it lol
I think a detail that should have been included in the Yuri's revenge segment was that it was (if I'm not mistaken) the first C&C entry to provide unique VOs for every unit. RA2 had standardized VO for all of each factions land vehicles (Rhino tank VO applied to all soviet vehicles). It was Yuri's revenge that gave each unit a unique VO, a trend that carried on to all subsequent series entries. The expansion gave us that great Apocalypse tank voice.
Really, admittedly it's been a very long time since I've played RA2 (once I got Yuri's revenge, I didn't look back), but I'm pretty sure I remember different voices for different units. And I _know_ Kirovs had their own voice.
@@Nukestarmaster Tanks and ships each shared a voice in RA2, and were changed in YR. But all infantry and air units always had their own unique voices, so that's probably what you're remembering.
I have so much love and nostalgia for the original game. I had it for the Sega Saturn, it was my very first C&C game. I remember swapping between four games on my beloved Saturn, playing Tomb Raider, Alien Trilogy, Street Racer and C&C. I had more Saturn games later, such as Nights Into Dreams, Clockwork Night 1 & 2, Bug and Sonic 3D. Good old times.
I might be mistaken but at the moment, it's Zero Hour that has the biggest multipleyer community. Thousands of active players, a lot of streamers that are active every days and big-prize tournaments. Quite good for almost 18 years old game!
C&C Tiberium Wars and Red Alert 2 along with their expansion packs are the ones I'm most attached to. Good times I've had with Red Alert 2 in both single and multiplayer.
Sometimes i love data spying. I just replayed the red alert series a week ago along with finally playing cnc 4 to ginish the story. Now you are on my feed.
Zade, I've been watching your content for what feels like a long time. So I've got a few things to say. First, I feel betrayed. Betrayed by your lack of faith in the Prophet! You relegate Firestorm, one of the most glittering blessings (in the form of union to overcome common problems) to humanity today, to an absurd ranking below even *heaves* Red Alert 3! And where is Sole Survivor! You are not a man of true taste, Zade: for your lies and dissembling and slander foul even the purity that is Joe Kucan's shiny pate. Where is Tiberium Alliances? Why do you forsake the bountiful promises of the holy bosom that was Tiberium (the cancelled shooter/TPS thing that looked really cool)! No, you even do not stop there. You consign Red Alert, the first promise of the glory to come, to the Heap of Bones That Is Worse Than Uprising. You are truly the Deceiver sent by GDI; a Great Serpent drawn to the glistering hope in our hearts. You are the Corrupter, and it is you that is the true enemy. You are Redmond Boyle. Okay, that was my best Brother Marcion piss-take. I actually do have some feedback. I meant none of that, and all of what follows. Sole Survivor was the worst entry in the C&C franchise, coming out at a time when internet was a novelty, and battle royale and so on just weren't invented yet. It did one thing right: and that is that it was the ancestor of all of them. Perhaps not the worst game of its kind, but definitely nowhere near the best. Tiberium Alliances was a shitty cash grab. I played a little of it, and it was awful. Imagine every turn-based facebook game. Now make it *worse*. That was the lowest point of the Tiberium Saga, IMO. From what I can recall, it didn't even have a semblance of a story. Crap. Utter garbage. Rubbish. It was poorly-prepared brussel sprouts. It was fresh rutabagas. It was turnips and fresh portobello mushrooms. C&C4 did *two* things right. Ish. 1 was casting Joe Kucan as Kane. The other was the music. Which was really nowhere near as good as the previous ones, but it was nice. It was also nice to see the metaphorical colours again, even if they were stained with bile and feces. So about Renegade. It's a very good piece of software! We have RA: APB, Renegade-X, and all the other mods I can't remember for it. It's a basic, no bullshit, shooter. Forget M1 Garands, Tenno Heika Banzai, and BJ Blaskowicz shooting nazis on the moon. This is the king of shooters. You have: soldiers with small arms, superweapons, vehicles, structures, environmental diversity (cliffs, water, and trees! Trees! T R E E S), and points. No microtransactions, a basic list of servers, the UI is simple and uncluttered by 'design'. The story is... there. Okay, it's a fun story. A memorable one, even. The music is great, the worldbuilding is Command & Conquer worthy, and you play as the musclehead jerk that saves the day and gets the girl. It's fun, and not really sOcIaL CoMmEnTaRy. It's fine. Definitely deserves to be remembered more. The original C&C is, like SS, kind of beyond our reproach now. It wasn't the first, and it did age better than SS. But it's really annoying to play, and I really wish that it was just in comic book form. I feel like that'd age better. Still, it is charming, and it feels like criticizing my mother: from a different time, when things were done differently, and this isn't the world where it aged well. I'm not mad at it, just disappointed. I'm glad it got some love in the form of the remaster though. Feels like taking my mom to a museum. Same for Red Alert, though I agree with you: it aged better, and I feel it actually got a little freshened up with the remaster, also like a boomer forsaking homophobia. Red Alert 3 did things different. I dislike the changes to how harvesters worked. I really can barely get beyond that. The other thing I hated was how everything had a special mode. It made for a micro-intensive game that I couldn't just be stupid with. I felt like it took the system of promotion from Generals, but made it all active instead of mostly passive. It really fucked me up. It had some cool things like some of the unit quotes, and I had a thing for Gemma Atkinson at the time. Tim Curry and George Takei and JK Simmons were amazing additions. Zero Hour, I couldn't get past USA Mission 3 on my old Vista PC due to technical problems. So I really take everyone's word for that one being any good. TibSun didn't age the best graphically, but it was the most fun I had in an apocalypse. I really want this to get a remaster. RA2 was silly and had an easy set of mechanics to learn. I liked it and YR so much. I just wish it was longer. Remaster when EA/Petroglyph? I COULD DESTROY THESE WITH A RUBBER DOG! C&C3 and KW are GOAT IMO. Like, these are Zeus and Hades among the dieties of gaming. So much win. So. Much. Win. I just wish I could toggle off the objective cutscenes. That's my one niggle. Uprising I never had. Pity, the Yuriko Omega mission you showed was kinda cool. Covert Ops is just a copy/paste C&C I guess. You could do a lot better, but you could do so much worse. Aftermath and Counterstrike at least added story to my first PC game. Pretty hard to beat that, but very easy to fuck up. They didn't fuck up, but it wasn't incredible. Firestorm. Man, Firestorm. It's the coolest. I just wish it was longer. GDI LIED! Generals was fun. I liked how campy it was. I guess it suffers from the one thing that plagues all satirical media eventually: it comes across as so racist now, that the only people to really 'get it' are those who liked it when it came out - no *real* person would ever be that fanatical about being in the Red Guard, right?! Right?! So I guess my rating is: 1. Firestorm 2. KW 3. C&C3 4. YR 5. RA2 6. RA 7. Renegade 8. Aftermath/Counterstrike 9. Generals 10. C&C 95 11. ZH 12. RA3 9001. Tiberium Alliances The rest I didn't play. If you read this far, remember that KANE LIVES

Couldnt agree more! C&C3 is what got me into not only the series but also the genre as a kid. I spent at least a thousand hours on 3 alone, nevermind kanes wrath.
I agree with your list when we now look back on the saga. But at the time of release, C&C classic was the best. The C&C3 campain was the best experience for me. After playing GDI and NOD I thought that was it, and as a surprise, a new faction appeared, one more campain! One of the best moments in gameplay history of my life. I bough the complete saga but every single game had issues running on Windows 10. Not sure how they can even sell it...
the scrin twist was the only to blow me away 3 times in a row . first time when they intervened , then when i finished the game just to unlock a new menu , and finally when i knew we only dealt with the vanguard .
For me Dune was probably most played game ever on my A500. C&C 1 when first released was a fascinating game that defined the genre. I didn't have a PC at the time so would occasionally go to my friends house who had a 360SX pc that could boot the game. RA was the game we would hot seat with classmates after school, it was good but nothing less, nothing more. So.. Generals was the prime of the genre. It combined the old and the new mechanics very well. Not to mention it was the first game that introduced a lot of people to MP rts.
Good list. Couldn't agree with your top picks more. CnC:RA2 was my favorite RTS for a long time, and the game I have the strongest nostalgia for, the truth is that CnC3:TW is just a better, more playable game.
I began on Red Alert 1, then mildly played the others until I got to CnC 3. That game is top notch and I love the squad features on the infantry, Nod designs, and firefights. It's almost untouchable.

we would buy, day 1, WITHOUTH EVEN LOOKING AT THE PRICE, a C&C 3 Kane'sWrath Remaster
RA3 will always be my favorite. I play it every single day, since the day it came out. Played it for both 360 and PC. I just never get tired of it.
RA2 was one of the first games I've ever played, and I played it a lot. So nostalgic
I have to say, Kane as a character gives me goosebumps everytime i see him. Best and pretty underrated villain outside the C&C community.
My first game when I was like 8 or 9 was Generals ZH, the challenge mode still is fun. Now I really enjoy RA2 and Tib Sun they feel so filled with depth.
Commando and Conquer generals and zero hour are the best c&c
Fan-tastic! Although I don't agree with everything, you gave your best. That is pretty good in my book. Fair and expansion overview as usual. Thanks for sharing. Bravo!
Cheers mate!
Glad to have found this channel when I was searching for C&C remastered reviews when it came out, keep up the great work
Thanks mate, glad to have you here!
My favorite is RA3 due to its fast paced gameplay and it's cartoony art style. I get that it's not for some people but to me it's a very solid game.
Wow, bellissimo video. La serie westwood/ commando& conquer la scoprii nel lontano 1996 e da allora mai smesso di amarla❤️. Saluti dall ‘Italia🇮🇹

All with a great soundtrack to boot (Dusk Hour)
This setting could lend itself to a top-down RPG like Fallout quite well.
Kane's Wrath and if you saying otherwise you are wrong...
C&C was my first online game. Westwood chat. Made a friend on there that I still chat with from time to time.
Thank you! Yes, I'll certainly cover it one day :)
Man, I'd love to see a Red Alert 2 remaster with some quality of life changes. I'd love to play it with more refined controls we are used to from modern RTS games (attack move, proper shift-queuing come to mind)
got a present for ya... CRTL+SHIFT , thats RA2 attack move
I think the factions and the sprawling city’s made for great gameplay
cosy af
this really helped me pick what c&c games to pick, thanks so much! im going with ra2, tiberian wars and generals
I can't say anything about other RTS games as I have not played them but, as a generals player I do say putting generals above zero hour is criminal, it's an upgrade on all sides, new factions, the challenge missions and new campaign elevate it higher than the base game by a lot in my opinion.
Good list. For me Red Alert 2 is #1. The game of childhood pretty much.
#1 C&C 3 Kane'sWrath
#2 C&C Yuris Revenge
#3 C&C Generals
we would buy, day 1, WITHOUTH EVEN LOOKING AT THE PRICE, a C&C 3 Kane'sWrath Remaster
Thanks mate! Glad to see we're on the same page ;)
Generals was probably my fav purely because you were less restricted in where you build. Kanes wrath is 2nd for me. I have c&c 4 but have never played it lol
@ 6:08 - What was the 3rd faction for Tib-Sun Firestorm? Is that a mix-up between RA2-YR?
idk unless cabal firestorm faction..?
Great list. Personally I would put Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 above C&C3, but I think that's mostly childhood nostalgia talking.
Genaral zero the best
I might be mistaken but at the moment, it's Zero Hour that has the biggest multipleyer community. Thousands of active players, a lot of streamers that are active every days and big-prize tournaments. Quite good for almost 18 years old game!
C&C 3 and Kane's Wrath FTW!!!
C&C Renegade having a special place in my heart too. It was a great FPS at the time.
C&C Tiberium Wars and Red Alert 2 along with their expansion packs are the ones I'm most attached to.
Good times I've had with Red Alert 2 in both single and multiplayer.
The Nostalgia is real 😍
Red Alert 2 is easily my favorite. I REALLY hope that gets remastered. Oh man :/
Sometimes i love data spying.
Right?!
So I guess my rating is:
1. Firestorm
2. KW
3. C&C3
4. YR
5. RA2
6. RA
7. Renegade
8. Aftermath/Counterstrike
9. Generals
10. C&C 95
11. ZH
12. RA3
9001. Tiberium Alliances
The rest I didn't play.
If you read this far, remember that KANE LIVES
kane lives
In depth comments 👀
I didn't so Alliances and Sole Survivor because a) I haven't played them and would be difficult to revisit now and b) they're fake games
Not a bad rating on your list - similar if not for a few key differences!
Who didn’t have a thing for Gemma Atkinson circa 2008-09! She was up to 11 (out of 10)!
Aftermath for the music and nostalgia...Red Alert 2 for literally that, and everything else. "I wonder if it will be raining..."
Gonna need to go into hiding after this one
🙋♂️
Couldnt agree more! C&C3 is what got me into not only the series but also the genre as a kid. I spent at least a thousand hours on 3 alone, nevermind kanes wrath.
I love them all but the fact you put C&C3 in first place make me want to subscribe all over again.
watching the installation of the RA2 alone is wonderfull
For me, the First C&C and first RA are my ALL time favorite. But Tiberian Sun and RA2 are Very good ones too.
The best C&C games for me are: Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge, Generals, Generals Zero Hour and Red Alert 3 (also Uprising)
We are devoted to this games and the Tiberium Saga, Tiberium Wars is the best of the whole series. Thanks for this fantastic video.
Generals Zero Hour is amazing. The Rise of the Reds mod modernizes it and adds new factions too.
One of the best metal game soundtracks, Frank Klepacki & the Tiberian sons really rock
Nice video. Can't say I agree with a lot of your rankings, though.
For me, the top 5 would probably be: RA2, Generals, RA3, TibSun, and then C&C3.
Thanks mate
the scrin twist was the only to blow me away 3 times in a row . first time when they intervened , then when i finished the game just to unlock a new menu , and finally when i knew we only dealt with the vanguard .
Not to mention it was the first game that introduced a lot of people to MP rts.
tiberium wars was the best cnc since generals :) loved kanes wrath expension prob just as much as yuris revenge :)
Good list. Couldn't agree with your top picks more. CnC:RA2 was my favorite RTS for a long time, and the game I have the strongest nostalgia for, the truth is that CnC3:TW is just a better, more playable game.
All is quite good but Generals and Zero Hour is committed the special place in my heart💛💙 Best wishes from Ukraine!
I began on Red Alert 1, then mildly played the others until I got to CnC 3. That game is top notch and I love the squad features on the infantry, Nod designs, and firefights. It's almost untouchable.
Not gonna lie I love the constant shade on C&C4. Lol.
I used to get very excited as a young teen watching Agent Tanya bend down in front of the camera in the cutscenes. Ah, those were the days.
I don't know but RA95 is still the most played game today.
Tiberian Sun was also my introduction to the franchise.
Hell yeah! C&C Complete collection is finally on Steam! Immediately bought it! I already bought the C&C Remastered version. I loved it but wish it had remastered the others in the series
I've played C&C 3: TW/KW and RA3 since I was a kid playing on the Xbox 360, still love em to this day on PC.
CC general zero hour is the best.
I've always been a RA2 fan since it came out, I've never really played any other, but now I have downloaded the top 5. Steam collection pack was a must buy, now I know what to try first
Really appreciate your video series on CnC. Please keep it up!
I shall!
Imagine if we got Renegade Remastered. I'd buy in instant.
my top 3
Generals
c&c3
RA2
I love rivals. It’s super fun. It’s like speed checkers if c&c is regular chess.
As a fan of Renegade, being immersed in the world in 3d was just mind blowing for me.
You know, nostalgia had me fuming a little seeing Yuri's Revenge only coming in at #2, but I have to admit Tiberium Wars was a stellar effort, and a fantastic addition to the series, long awaited.
I'm gonna play that one again thanks to your list!
Red Alert 2 + YR, then Tiberium Sun + Firestorm were my favorites
I remember getting Tiberian Sun for Christmas . The best…along with RA 2
Tiberium Sun! for how true & deep it was into the story! (and sadly the last , before EA cut out soooooooo many great ideas in units, terrain ,etc...🙄)
But i had most fun with Generals - Zero hour! oooh so many sleepless LAN nights with friends, just slugging it out 🤤
generals zero hour .... best of all
One of the first lists that I can accept, id change a few but still a good video.
dumb conclusion, no way is Tib wars better than the expansion that was KW...
