I spent 6 months working out a deal to buy a Condo in BGC....not cheap..and after all that I literally pulled out the last day. Best thing I ever did was back out. I finally realized I would hate to live in BGC. I finally realized if I wanted to live in a Western style tiny little town away from the real Philippines than I should have just saved my money and stayed in the US. Best thing I did was back out and get away from BGC and into the real Philippines culture, which should be the reason you come to the Philippines anyway.
I completely agree. The main reason I'm looking at BGC/Makati for a "home base" is for work. I still work remotely and need good access to internet and power. Some of the provinces are having frequent brownouts and I can't have that. It would be different if I was retired. I still plan to immerse myself into the real Philippines. I just can't dive in head first and lose my job. @@garrydye2394

I used to live in the building next to you, Grand Hamptons, and same developer so many common elements with our old condo. Watching that video brought back many fond memories of our time there. Great unit so congratulations. If not to personal would like to know if you kept under your budget with the rent. With BGC rents sky rocketing in the past 12 months, helpful to know monthly rent terms.
Our budget was 150k and we ended up with 140k but we feel like we agreed to too much for the true condition of the apartment.
Thanks and believe $2500 per month is a good deal for your location and SF. But do not plan on landlord doing anything in the future other than major repairs like HVAC malfunction. Prices for rentals and new construction have increased much higher than inflation over the past 3 years in Manila, so in 18 months this rent may be a bargain. My wife and I have been coming for 20 years and plan on retiring someday in Manila or Cebu. However, it no longer really cheap like before. Best of luck and we will enjoy your travels.

St. Luke's is like in the Top 5 best hospitals in the whole country. I say calling it 'a pretty good hospital' is an understatement 😅

Shangri-La at the Fort is really nice, couldn’t lie that the suite we got was pretty decent for the price. The staff were also kind enough to prepare us early breakfast boxes since we had an early flight.
