ABOUT US
We’re the Lockwoods. And we’re traveling the world to experience-up close and in person-all the natural wonders and distinct cultures that our kids would otherwise be consuming only through textbooks and TV. We think it’s a better way to learn and we’re working hard to fund this little experiment in the hope that our kids will grow up wiser, kinder, and more grateful for the beauty of our diverse planet and its people.
Mason and Regan are so polite and lovely. I sense that even if they didn't truly like something, they still said something positive about it. I think it's rare for teenagers these days to have good manners and be reserved. They were raised well.
Thank you so much. We really appreciate that and we’re proud of both of them for trying everything and having manners. They really did enjoy almost everything there.
@@livethephilippines i totally concur.
Wow! It's called Malacañang.
You should be ashamed for saying such things about a child who is perfectly polite, kind, and excited to be traveling the Philippines. Hopefully you get some help because this is not normal behavior -- online or not.
@@livethephilippines what happened? Did I post or someone posted some disturbing comments? Did not read anything wrong in this thread?
This family are so down to earth not snobbish whatever they don’t like they just keep it to themselves. (They know the secret 😊 Filipinos are sensitive coz they are positive in life however hard their lives are. Thank you for kindness.
Thank you for appreciating us 🤗
The look on Colt's face when the appetizers came out. I think he's loving the Filipino food now
He is a foodie! 😋
@@livethephilippines He's straight up an honorary Pinoy at this point. 💪
List of Filipino desserts on video, just for reference for those viewers not familiar:
@23:38 regional version Halo-Halo, Zamboanga's style w/no shaved ice.
@24:20 Sans Rival (lit. unrivaled) = frozen meringue + cashews cake.
@25:06 Brazo de Mercedes = meringue w/custard filling.
@25:33 Inutak = glutinous rice, coconut milk, ube halaya.
@26:03 Biko Latik = sticky rice cake + coconut syrup.
@26:40 Ube Halaya
The restaurant (Cabel) owner's name is JC Cabel Moreno. I assume that JC stands for Juan Carlos (former king of Spain), and that's probably why his nickname is "King". His younger brother Miguel operates Palm Grill restaurant, in Quezon City. Great video!
I am grateful for your efforts in promoting Filipino cuisine and culture, and for encouraging your older daughter and her boyfriend to appreciate it as well. Your family has showcased the beauty of Philippine refinement and culture to the world, and I would like to recognize you as ambassadors of Philippine culture. Thank you!
This lovely family is an image of respect, respect, respect....i love them. 🩷✨️❤️✨️🩷✨️❤️
Watching this from Italy. We love your family and your videos. We've already watched them all. 😊. And it's Ma-la-kan-yang palace 🙂
Thank you for supporting from Italy! 🇮🇹 another one of our favorite countries.
Can you just pls upload videos everyday, we cant get enough of ABC FAMILY
I love how vast your knowledge is! You do your due diligence. Very much appreciated!
Remember guys,halo-halo actually means and pertains to the various mixed ingredients of the dessert, not the act of mixing it. Love you guys!
Actually the HaloHalo got it's name on how it should be eaten.. you have to mix it first plain and simple. HALOHALO - Mix Mix! Any other dish whatsoever is a MIX of ingredients.. and of course we don't name all these dishes as HALOHALO.
Really happy to see your family enjoying the best of the Philippines.
Thanks so much 😊 it’s been so great to all be together here.
The food tour I have been waiting for!!! ❤❤
Yay! Hope it lives up to your expectations 🤗
awww a very heartwarming video for everything: the culinary journey, the history, Erin's cocktail, the friendship 🥰
So happy you think so 🤗
Erin, you are the BEST... Well-deserved EMO drink! 🥳 I love how you joyfully try out things. You are such a good sport even in the face of mispronounciations or whatnot! 🥰
Salamat means thank you for liking our pilipino dishes 😊😊😊 and loving our country ❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭
Amazing Episode!!! Ma-La-Kang-Ang :)
Yay! 😁 so happy you like it!
So great to see you all experiencing the Philippines 🇵🇭. We will visit that restaurant on our next vacation to Manila.
It’s nice to see that Reagan and mason enjoyed the native Philippines dishes. I hope they will also enjoy the beautiful beaches we have in our country.
I just want to point out that "Malacañang" is pronounced with the in the name making the /k/ sound, not with the /s/ sound.
Other than that, I appreciate the effort you put in to say the names of the dishes. With some feedback, you guys will nail it slowly but surely. And boy, do I have a lot more feedback with pronunciation and stress! 😆 Also, props to Colt for nailing the pronunciation of "tiyula itum!"
Speaking of Colt, I think he just wants to eat at the 17:45 mark...
Maraming salamat for your appreciation of Filipino culture! I hope Reagan sees why you guys love it here!
Wow vry nice video, good job guys! Thank you for promoting and loving the Philippines.
I really appreciate your effort in finding time in promoting Pinoy cuisines. God bless your beautiful family
That cashew cake is more specifically called, Sans Rival.. Some would put cashews, some would put pistachios.. :) It's my absolute favorite as well!
My first time having it and so good! 😊
I have been watching your videos since you first explored Manila. I should say you guys amazingly are professionals, the kids are articulate and honest enough to give food reviews. Thank you so much for promoting Philippines to the whole world❤. Take care always and enjoy😊

Thank you Phil and Erin for a very informative and entertaining vlog. Good to see Regan, the swimmer in your family. Regan, you picked well in choosing Mason. He is an awesome dude.
‘
I can feel the joy and overwhelming happiness about EMO cocktail named after you Erin! Viewers from your ABC channel until here in LTP were all the witness on how much you and the whole family love Philippine Mangoes! Hopefully someday once I am back in Manila I can make a visit to Cabel and try that too

One of our favorite family in YT and thank you for your informative videos love it
Wow, thank you! 🤗
No wayyyy. I'm drooling 🤤🤤
Actually HALO HALO means mix of everything. It can be use to anything like while u are washing clothes (mix the white with colored) ,cooking, or mixing something with something like any stuff.
HALUIN ( means to mix) u pronounce it as HALU-IN
HALO is the root word means MIX.
So it's also appropriate to call to it mix mix.
Nways...nice content guys.. ur becoming more Filipino now...mabuhay
Nice you try to eat different food here. Enjoy everyone.

Your videos are consistently insightful, heartfelt, informative, and endearing. This particular one is almost like a culinary documentary but with lots of heart interspersed throughout the content. Thank you for enthusiastically enriching your knowledge about our culture and bravely immersing your taste buds in our local palate. I am thankful to TH-cam for bringing you to my screen and to the hearts of your many faithful followers. Cheers to many more EMOs and fanciful Philippine adventures! 🍹🍹🍹
This is a very informative video. As a Filipino myself, watching this video in the U.S.A.,I miss them food, especially the halo-halo (but I don’t miss the ampalaya). Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and experiences in the Philippines. Also, you all pronunciation of Tagalog words are improving. Keep it up and wish you all the best time. God bless. ❤😊
I like how you’re easing them into Filipino food. It’s definitely an acquired taste but at least they’re getting a taste of it in real time. You guys should definitely try Manam or Crisostomo next! Love the education you’re giving about each dish it means a lot as a filam watching you guys embrace the culture❤ oh! Don’t forget sweet ecstasy their burgers are similar to in n out and I always end up going there when my plane lands in Manila lol
Great video. We are heading back to the Philippines in November. We may have to try your new drink😊
I hope you do! 🍹
I can’t wait to try the emo drink as I do love mango as well and love Erin’s personality always smiling and beautiful. I’m a mum of 3 like her so I can see myself with her. Lovely family

Foodie content! Love it.
Glad you enjoy it! 🤗
I grew up in the 90s and Ive noticed Reagan bears some similarity to Christina Aguilera! ❤
Nice… we had a similar experience in La Cocina de Tita Moning when it was still in business. I’m gonna miss that place. Basically, gourmet Filipino cuisine. Thanks for this…we’ll check it out when we visit! ❤
Thanks! So happy you enjoyed it 😊
I love this family❤

Enjoy your time and God bless you all❤🎉
Thank you 🙏
Now that's what you call "Great people comes with Great Foods!"
Sans Rival is one of my favorite Filipino dessert. It has a French name but it’s very Filipino. Wafer, butter and crushed cashews. So good!
That cake blew my mind 😋
@@livethephilippines There’s also a pistachio version of Sans rival.
There’s a Museo ng Macanang. Your friend from Cabel might be able to hook you up to get a tour of Malacanang Palace. By the way Malacanang is pronounced as “Mala-kan-yang” whereas the C sounds as K. So that mango cocktail drink was named after you Erin because of your for Philippines mango. That’s so nice. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I’ve never heard of Cabel Restaurant. Thanks for bringing as there. Love this vlog!
Will definitely try to visit that restaurant when I'm back in the country! It would be interesting if the teens could meet some local kids their age and get a feel for what teen life is like out there. 👍
You guys shoudl visit Rockwell Center in Makati. You can dine at the outdoor dining strips located at their Power Plant Mall.
"No! use your hands! "
😆 love this line from Mommy Erin ☺️❤
Super enjoyed watching this from start to the behind the scenes (which was hilarious by the way 😆). We’ll definitely try the EMO drink. 😊
Awesome 👏
Thanks 🤗
The food looks so good! Breakfast for the kings coming up for me!
So good! 🤗🤗🤗
Even I, a Filipino citizen has never tried majority of the stuff you guys ate (ofcourse I love Lechon Kawali and ampalaya salad) very glad that Reagan and Mason loved each and every bite.❤️
Malacañang is pronounced locally as “Malakañang”, emphasize the “c” to “k”
wow the food's looks delicious 😋
They are! 🤗😋
you could be the best coordinators for tours for your friends in the US guys 🎉😍😍
Sarap nmn😊
🤗
Gin and Calamansi sounds delicious! My go to drink when i visit the Philippines is the Cuba Libre but instead of lime, request for them to put Calamansi.
Wowwww!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The cocktail IMO wow.. you have your own trademark drink..so lovely! ❤❤❤
It was so thoughtful of them!
