Even though our entire family is very excited to finally have our own condo in BGC, if you've seen some of our past content you know that it's no big secret that we're not really 100% in love with the apartment that we're living in right now. In hindsight, we probably should have taken our time a little bit more. We got a bit caught up and didn't take a step back to just make sure we were making the right decision, but here we are and even though we've got a long time left on the lease for this condo, our attention is already elsewhere. We're looking ahead to what that next place is going to be and to that end we have decided to go look at a place today that we could potentially buy at some point down the road as long as the finances would line up. We're not sure but we're going to go check it out because it looks like a really cool building and it would put us even closer to our friends the Ocampos over at Mom Duty channel, so let's go check it out.

Bgc is a haux. They sell condos as expensive as those in Chicago or New York but pay their manpower as low as 150USD monthly and expect them to provide "world class" service.
I agree. Its the same in Baguio...where I live. Housing cost is the same as Florida but yet....labor is $10 a day to build a home on average...some skills cost more and some less but you get the point. I almost bought in BGC but if your going to fly half way across the world to live in BGC....you might as well just stay in the US. Living in BGC is like living in s shopping mall....cool...but not reality.
That’s why Philippines will always be a 3rd world country no matter what.
>Greedy businessmen paying peanuts to their workers
>corrupt politicians stealing money from workers.
Happy that we now lived in New Zealand. Where people value dignity and fairness. We only visit Philippines to see our relatives and relax in beautiful beaches but otherwise were happy to live permanently overseas.
Hoax* RIP Spelling.
Also, it is not a hoax. That's economics. Price is determined (in part) by the buyer's flexibility. You are simply NOT their target market. And NO ONE is obligated to provide you your own house. If you can't afford it, then leave it to someone else who can.
@@uchniezt1212 During the 2008 financial crisis and housing market collapse, the US housing market saw an average decline of 20-30% while the Philippines saw an average of 40-60% decline in home values during that same time period. The reason is because in the USA home values are determined by COMPS (comparable sales) while in the Philippines home vales are determined by PFV (projected future value). So if you purchase a condo in the Philippines you are paying what developers believe the price will be for the condo development in 5-7 years.
This is good for developers such as DMCI and Ayala land because they are able to draw on future demand to maximize profits and increase their stock evaluations but it's a unsustainable system that will eventually lead to a severe housing market crash if liquidity dries up. This explains why the Philippines central banks has maintain a easy money policy while the US and the collective west is still on a tightening policy.
Yeah sadly they’re really for people who’re vieux riche & nouveau riche. Clearly not for us , not even for middle-class people 🤷🏻♀️
what I love about BGC is the fact that is pedestrian friendly. I work in one of the buildings near high street and during my lunch hours I would just enjoy my break there in Krispy Kreme. Actually I saw you guys strolling there a few months ago was a bit shy to say Hi but will definitely do so the next time I'd see you guys there
We love strolling down High Street. Next time say hi 👋 we’d love to meet you 🫶
wowoww 🥰nice to see you here soon..You gonna like your vacatiob here for sure..so many places to explore and adventure too❤😊
Let me tell you life is not all about work. I lived in Ortigas from 2005 to 2012 when it was at its peak. I was less than a minute away from work but that's all. Week-ends and nights were boring.
Filipino American here living in New Jersey. Love your channels. Thanks for showing better part of Philippines 🇵🇭
Thanks for watching! 🫶🤗❤️🇵🇭
I was born and raise in West Orange NJ, Respect
most of the Philippines is better too, if not the best. Yes for sure there are slim areas, so is everywhere in the world even here in America
Im the same! I prefer to walk everywhere! That’s why BCG appeals to me so much. It looks sooooo walkable! thanks for all the great BCG content.
Exactly 💯 BGC is so great for pedestrians. We love walking around every day. Everything at our fingertips.
Jajaja usa people think, bgc is a city
Its Part of taguic not even 10 blooks

Thanks! 🤗🤩
Watching from Chicago! Nice video…thank you you for showing us this beautiful place. Amazing!
Thanks! Hi 👋 in Chicago
Before BGC condo is not that so expensive. thats before the development, But because of propaganda that BGC is SO BEAUTIFUL SO SAFE,etc and people flock and WANTS to LIVE in BGC, wants to purchase, prices of Condo in BGC SKY ROCKETED. it a SUPPLY & DEMAND thing, IF so many people WANTS to live or buy condo property in one particular place, PRICES WILL SURELY GOES UP. look at a place in Muntinlupa city, it is almst similar to BGC but because NO PROPAGANDA was made few people live there. It called Filinvest city,
Hi, new subscriber here from Texas. I grew up in the Philippines and left there in 1969 for Texas. I just found your videos and can relate to most of your content. When visiting Manila, we stay at BGC due to proximity to a lot of places. It’s also clean, safe and enjoyable. My daughter, born in Texas, also enjoys staying at BGC, as well as her husband and two children. I’ve thought of retiring there, but my daughter and son as well as my grandchildren are here in the States.
I'm soo happy Brooklyn loves to read. Reading expands your mind and how you percieve the world. Your vocabulary will also be a big plus. You can someday talk to your parents and make them feel like they were nonchallantly walking then getting hit and run over by a thesaurus... YOU. Keep it up, B.
She even bought two new books yesterday :)
Watching from Texas. I love all the details you showed. Awesome video!
I do real estate in New York, so I've seen plenty of condos, and this one blew my mind. The high end finishes, the level of sophistication, the thoughtfully designed layout. Wow.
Philippines world class. High-end We mean, high-end sophistication elegance.
Watching from Wisconsin, USA. I love your informative channel and always look forward to your next adventure.
Hi 👋 in Wisconsin
It's nice to see foreigners living in the Philippines. First time watching your vlog. I will be here for more. Great condo. Thanks for taking us to your journey. New Yorker here 👋
So happy you found us! Thanks for watching and subscribing 🤗
thats trash the money i live with my girlfriend in arrezzo place, pasig 14k and beautifull place italian style usa people are a real joke, people are starving in the ph and bgc is a buble,if you want to see and feel life a of a real pinoy get out side that buble bgc is part of taguic.
Love this kind of content! Watching from Sydney and dreaming of owning a place like this in BGC. For city living, I think BGC can’t be beat. The atmosphere and friendly, relaxed people in the PH and being surrounded by everything you need. Low cost of good quality services and can even hire a helper to make life easier. But I must say that price is insane! Hope you show some mid range or even low cost options as well. 😅
The price is insane but we love touring homes in all price points. It was fun to look around. We're just going to wait until we win the lottery to buy one :)
Love the video, thanks for showing that place. Something to aspire to❤️
Thanks for watching. Those units are a goal for us too 🫶
Just watched some of your videos!! Loving it! Would explore the ABC videos soon... watching from Oviedo Spain☺️☺️😍
So happy you found us. Hello 👋 in Spain
Wow, that price is insane. In my opinion, you might as well buy a house and lot in one of the high end subdivisions there.
That kind of money can go a long way in many different areas. But we get the appeal of city life and the walkability here
No kidding! $3M USD?!? Granted, this is the larger premium unit, so maybe the smaller units are only $2M USD. 😄 I'm skeptical that 86% of the units are sold. Sounds like a great sales tactic. Hurry, buy now before they're all gone!
Foreigners are only allowed to buy condo units here though.
@@330toSRT8 you would be surprised that BGC and Forbes Park is the home of the Elites in bet it is already fully booked now.
@@330toSRT8
I think that’s a sales
Tactic
Watching from Dubai & thanks for sharing we haven’t visited Philippines for the longest time. Your videos keeps us updated as well
We are so so excited to be in Dubai very very soon. Looking forward to touring around UAE
Glad to see more foreign vloggers saying the proper location of BGC. More power and support for your channel, sir/ma'am!
Thank you! 😃
Watching here from Saudi Arabia. Been following you for many months ❤❤❤love how physically active your family
🤗 Hello to you in Saudi Arabia! Thanks for watching
Watching from Hong Kong! Glad you are loving your stay in the Philippines!
Thanks for watching from Hong Kong :)
Thank you for the in depth tour. Looking forward to the day when you guys buy your dream condo in the Philippines :)
So are we 🤗
Holy moly.. the unit looks amazing! ❤
So pretty!
Great tour. Man those prices are insane! You could buy like 10 - 15 condos in different areas like Makati, Pasay, Ortigas, Mandaluyong, and Greenhills area for that price
OK one more thought, you saw the Ocampo's elect bill video. If you keep that place AC'd in all the rooms all the time.
That will be another 5 to 7 hundred dollars, U.S. green money a month. ( of course you folks will be gone alot ) We only
use the AC in our two bedrooms and maybe one room for a nap in the afternoon. Our bill for just that much is a little over
$125. a month. Not sure if the AC units can only use the fan part during the day and add the cool at night ? We can have a
fan only in our home furnace in the U.S.
Its due to Filipino-Chinese Oligarchy Owned Meralco which jacks up electric price higher than Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and equal to Japan, probably the reason, many companies do not have manufacturing in the Philippines.
Right. We are diligent about turning AC off even when we leave the room.
Amazing BGC idol! Welcome all of you to Philippines
Thanks so much!
wow its so nice ur back in the philippines, god bless you always the beautiful family ❤️
Thank you so much! 🤗
I love watching your travel and lifestyle vlog!
Aww thanks! 🫶🤗

@@livethephilippines Enjoy your stay in the Philippines 🇵🇭!
I’m going home in June. 😊 Hope to see more videos. All the best! 👍🏼
I was there at BGC last January, we could have met if I just knew your channel beforehand. Hopefully next time.
I love your contents, especially this episode about real estate in BGC thank you, watching from Catalunya Spain.
Awesome. Our next episode will be another one about real estate. 😊👍🏻
👏👏very interesting video. 👏thank you for loving my beloved country Philippines ❤️ God bless you and your your family 😇
Thank you! 😃
Aloha from Hawaii! Wish you guys lots more success, happiness, and eventually soon see you guys move in to a home like that! 😊
Thank you so much!! Hi in Hawaii 👋
That price is insane! Moved to Texas from the Philippines 20 years ago and we haven’t been back since 2009. Thought about buying a condo so we have a place to stay at when we go back there again to visit. But after watching your video, we would rather buy a bigger house here than buy an expensive condo we would not even use all year round. Anyhow, thanks for another great video. I always have a smile on my face when I watch y’all. Your family is just so endearing and likable. I’m pretty sure you guys don’t need it but I never skip ads while watching so I can show my support. God bless the Lockwoods! Looking forward to seeing more of y’all! 💛
Thanks for watching from Texas! This condo is on the extreme side when it comes to price. We have found more affordable options for new buildings. We do have a new episode coming up soon, and the prices are much more reasonable.
You did Aurelia a favor for presenting such an awesome RE product. Well done!
Thanks! 🤗🤗🤗
wow the new condo looks amazing, have a good day guys
Thanks! 😊

Love watching your videos. I am watching from Holland. Stay safe always beautiful family. Looking forward to the next one. 🥰😘
I bet Holland is beautiful 🤗🫶
- viewing from New York, great content.
Hello in NY 👋
When u was in bgc in also checked out the same sales office, they are very professional and the floor plan was awesome, just a bit out of my budget :(
I love watching your blog! Very informative and fun to watch. I'm a Filipino but currently living in Brooklyn NY, who has future plan of retiring in the Metro Area in the Philippines and looking for a condo too. That condo provides luxury living, love it but sooo expensive just like NYC. I guess I have to work 12 hrs in a day for 7 days a week lol! Or play the lottery tonight.
Hi 👋 in Brooklyn. We love NY and of course the name Brooklyn 🫶
Watching from New York!! I miss the Philippines
Hi NY! ❤️
Beautiful Content and the condo is beautiful BGC is very expensive nowadays you guys should take a look at Thailand condos for the same size in bedrooms beautiful overlooking the beach or in the city they have big beautiful Windows ceiling condos going for from 700 , USA a month
Sounds beautiful! 🤩
Hi, ABC! Just arrived in MNL last week from NYC. Staying right here in BGC - thanks to your vlog. Interested in Meet&Greet.
Awesome! So happy you’re checking out BGC 👍🏻
3M Dollars WOW!! THAT'S AMAZINGLY EXPENSIVE, more expensive than the new MODERN Condo unit in downtown Denver, Thanks for showing us the current price of real estate there in BGC.
I love you guys videos
Take care and God Bless 🙏
Hi guys! There are so many other nice condos outside BGC. You just have to know a good reliable sales person in finding the right condo for your family.
We are actually touring a place outside BGC tomorrow 👍🏻
THE PHILIPPINES IS ONE COUNTRY THAT LIKES BY EXPATS. & FOREIGNERS CAME FROM THE UNITED STATES & UK. THE ONE THEY LIKE IS THE MONETARY + THE FILIPINOS ARE SO FRIENDLY &
ACCOMODATING THATS THEY LIKE TO LIVE THIS COUNTRY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤
Id rather build my house next to the beach than living in BGC.thank you guys in sharing your vlog.
We love the beach too! Hard to choose between city life and the beach. We love both!
I was there looking for retirement place last year and found that BGC properties are way too expensive. I guess it depends on the builder and location. Obviously, that particular Condo is on the high-end. There are middle tier ones for half or third of the price but amenities will be a lot lower in quality. This current pricing is not sustainable and may result in corrections. I'll wait.
We think there will be a correction too. But we also understand the appeal of BGC and why so many people want to live here.
@@livethephilippines I agree with that. I love BGC as I love walking to everywhere. As you get older, they said you need to walk and exercise, and that place is going to be perfect with me. Plus of course the shops, food options, adjacent to the airport and Makati BCD. More secure too and friendly people. It's a nice and cozy place to retire or have a base as you travel and visit more provinces and major cities in Asia, Europe , WestCoast USA and the middle east. Goodluck and may you find your perfect spot in that beautiful place.
@@livethephilippines theres going to be a lot of retired nurses from america and europe....i feel the prices are going to skyrocket for these over priced units...it will be like new york in the 80's and 90's everyone kept saying overpriced...and then a decade later the prices tripled. if it werent for the lurking south china sea problem and awful traffic at nearby cities...philippines would be a good place to invest. time will tell wish i have a couple melons to spend...
Filipina here Watching from Seattle! 🇺🇸
Hi 👋 in Seattle!
Love watching your family
That makes us happy 😊 thank you for watching us!
Watching from California- OFW for 20 years😊
Hello, in California 👋 thanks for watching
watching from Alberta, Canada
Hi 👋 in Alberta
First time hearing about a residential condo with their own movie theater. Beautiful place!
I was so impressed with the idea of a movie theater 🎥
Watching from BGC- Have fun guys ☺️
Yay, a fellow BGC resident. Hope to bump into you
OFW and immigrant in Italy here watching. Most Filipinos living abroad nowadays invest in real estate properties in the Philippines. At the moment, the Philippines probably has one of the most expensive utility bills in southeast asia but that might change in years to come for as far as I know the government is currently opening it's energy and telecommunications sectors to foreign investors thus in a matter of half a decade or so household expenditures to these services may decrease significantly. There are new expansions going on in the Manila bay areas, the ongoing reclamations which will eventually elevate the city's infrastructures to that of Hongkong and Singapore's. Efforts to address the obsolete transport system in the Philippines is being carried out thus the first subway is on it's way to completion that will interconnect the BGC and other key cities within the metro...and the airports more accessible! Therefore aside from the pristine beaches in over 7k6h islands that can rival the best beaches in the world and the Philippines being located in the center of the north and the ASEAN, I don't find any reason why not considering the Philippines as a second HOME❤🥰❤️
Those all sound like promising improvements. We’ve been very mindful of our energy use here because we’ve been warned about how high electricity bills can be. Thanks for watching from Italy 👋
Love seeing people enjoying the real estate in BGC
We love real estate in general. I used to be a Realtor 😊
Welcome Guys! Im new subscriber. Looking for your great video!
I love watching your vlog.Watching from NZ.❤

My family moved in LA 2012 and we haven’t been home yet since then. But were actually planning to go back because we LOVE Philippines despite bad traffic haha!😂 I love your family and your vlog! Enjoy Manila and keep safe!😘♥️
Thanks for watch from LA. We hope you come back to visit the Philippines soon 🤗
❤❤
I'm an OFW, watching from Abu Dhabi. I am glad to hear that you will be visiting the UAE soon. See you soon!
We’re so excited to visit UAE! Thanks for watching 👋
when are you coming??? dont come on the summer months though its damn hot
I don't understand why anyone is coming to the Philippines anyways spending 389k monthly just for rent? My monthly pension is on 135k and I would only rent a place that cost between 20k to 30k and we are a family of 4.
I can’t speak for everyone but we are happy here 😊
There are many foreigners that relocated to the Philippines on 2 to 4 year assignments. Their companies provide housing allowance and they usually pay one year in advance plus two months deposit. The rental rates range from 80K to 150K pesos a month in the CBD my rental units are located. BGC can charge more than that because it’s Metro Manila’s most prime CBD along with Makati.
Watching from Los Angeles, California!😊
Hello there in LA 👋
Amazing family. Watching from New York
We love NYC! Thanks for watching from afar 👋
Yeah I'm based in Liverpool right now but I'll be around BGC in July for 6 weeks. In the next year or two I'd also be looking to get a condo there since I work entirely remotely anyway. It would be nice to spend more time with my parents and expand our BGC branch.
Go get some lechon from Rico's there at the fort. I'm already looking forward to the sisig in different places.
Rico’s, we’ll have to look for that 👍🏻
Welcome back

Love u guys! From Toronto Canada
Watching from Germany, that unit is amazing,it’s so beautiful and huge but so expensive
👋 hello in Germany.
I was watching a 10 min video on the problems folks are having with condo ownership in Florida because of the
big condo that collapsed a year or two ago, new rules have been enacted. Condo's now must have money set aside
for upkeep, etc. Many big companies have not set aside enough and now owners are getting hit with a huge bill of over
100k so the condo can have enough money on hand for general upkeep. This place has so much to offer,, but, each piece
needs to be maintained and what is that going to cost each owner. Some condo companies have been black listed, Insurance
companies will not insure a loan to buy, you can not find anyone to buy your unit even at a fire sale price. Even if you pay cash
for a unit, what is the monthly maintenance going to cost and when can it be increased and is there a cap on that? One more
" not so much for me " is if that place - 3 towers - are even 50 % full, that is too many people in one place.
Wow! That’s a lot to take in and a lot to consider if you’re buying a condo.
Hey guys! Watching from Bruges, Belgium 🇧🇪 😍
Thanks for watching from Belgium 🤗
