      Sometime in the coming weeks would be a good time for reviews on the new power supplies that have direct cabling for these cards. Thanks for the benchmarks, the next two in the super line should be a little more interesting in price / perf.

      @moozooh 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      The whole series was Nvidia's best new release offering ever since probably the original GeForce 256 DDR. Performance shot up, power consumption plummeted, GPGPU applications went through a renaissance, all cards from 1070 up stayed perfectly relevant for at least the next 3-4 years outside of RT workloads. Hell, 1080 Ti is still just fine for 1080p play for almost any game. Everything that came since has been a series of usual compromises that only become worthwhile after the mid-series refreshes like this one. That being said, this *does* look like a good refresh at least.

They started using the 4090 in February 2023 and it became the test setup GPU by the 7000 series X3D's release date in February of 2023. They've had nearly a year to just switch to the 13900K or 7800X3D for GPU benchmarks, and have mentioned that the transition is coming, yet still haven't done it lol.
      Also, there can easily be a 20-40% performance difference at 1080p, and upwards of 15% at 1440p, between the 12700KF (or 12900K) and 13900K or 7800X3D, literally in GN's own testing with a 4090 so there is definitely a big enough jump in performance.

    Hi, I’m just wondering why you used a 12700KF cpu for testing, don’t get me wrong, I’ve once owned that cpu before and it performs well, but since this is purely gpu performance, shouldn’t you be using a cpu where it won’t bottleneck any gpu at all?

      How is it gonna bottleneck any card? You mean those silly sites that say a 7700x is poor with a 4060 16gb and recommended a 32 core threadripper...😂 a cpu that has core performance of a cpu that is 6 years old.

    • @qGte

      @@mitri5389 You either don't know anything about cpu and system compatibility or you are purposefully try and spread misinformation. You clearly don't know what you are talking about. 7700x is a very good cpu, it can be paired up to a 4080 or 4070 Ti super which is suitable for max 1440p to high 4k with ray tracing. Threadrippers are not good for gaming whatsoever because of their relatively poor single core and, like cb2077 8 core performance as cpus like 12700k can go up to 4.9 Ghz (5 Ghz if unlocked) while a 32 core threadripper that cost about 10-15x as much will only get around 4.7-4.8 GHz. Resolution is the reason for bottlenecks, as the gpu aren't the demanded for lower resolutions. You would have to game at 12k resolution in order to fully use up the power of the 4090 when paired with a cpu that is 6 year old because of their performance. In case you don't know this, but in order to run a game, like cs go, a cpu is more demanded because of the amount of detailed needed to be process instead of CB2077 which requires geometric and parallel calculations which requires more gpu. I'm afraid UWQHD resolution is too much to ask for as it's not widely used. I'll just keep telling myself that the performance is between 1440p and 4k, closer to 4k 🙈🤣

I was in doubts if I made the right call, as the 40-th series super launch was rumored around the corner. And from the looks of it, I made a good decision. Really curious if you notice and physical changes in the new card such as weight or stronger boards to resolve sag, cracks, and other issues with the weight of the cards being to heavy. Also would like to see the latency differences using a riser. I think these cards are just going to get heavier and I wonder if there will be more cases that either add GPU supports or more cases being designed for vertical placement like the Y60 and Y40.

    Latency test is a great idea. FPS is not the end all be all for me. I care more for how responsive the game feel when I do something. Sometimes is input lag and sometimes is visual latency. But it's equally annoying. Sometimes you play a game that have all the frames. But still feel slow to react. While some low-ish frames game have a near instant response.
