Dude. I watched ten of these vids. Your machine is the BEST. 1ST off...you made it large enough to generate a sufficient amount of smoke. 2ND, you had the brains to add a safety valve. Great video. Subscribed.
The ten dollar smoke machine guys guys are correct, but only if you already have most of the supply’s. I like your design and honesty in what it will cost to build.
Built the smoke machine, found the air leaks in the cars EVAP system, tightened clamps and changed leaking cracked hoses. I couldn't have revealed those leaks without the smoke machine. Thanks. Also I used an air mattress pump to force the smoke through the system. That works great. My air compressor was broken at the time. Keep building and creating.
I did notice one thing different about your Smoke Machine and that is that you used 22 Gage copper wire to wrap your Tiki Torch and your Smoke Machine seem to put out considerable more smoke than all the rest I watched and I can't help think that it could be due to either the Copper Wire Length and or Diameter or just the fact that it was copper wire you used. Good Job Buddy and thanks for the video.
Even tho you didn't actually use the machine this video was thoroughly amusing! I'm going to make one right now! Thanks for the walk thru!! Keep it smokey!!
This is great bro I was about to buy a smoke machine because I had check engine in my truck P0455 which is large avap leak, you just save me some money thx bro have a nice day...👍👍👍👍
Nice video dude. The reason that you are producing more smoke than others is that although you all share a common wire resistance of approximately 2 Ohms, you are using copper wire which means much longer length of cable. That means that when you wrap the wick you will have much more turns therefore much more contact with the wick which will provide more heat hence more smoke
You can buy sewing machine oil by the gallon to have reserve oil on hand too if you need that much oil lamp wick will work as a wick. You can also seal the taps with silicone to protect it from accidentally hitting it up against metal when it's connected the a power source. Then just use mineral spirits to clean the terminals to remove the silicone if you ever need to take the stainless steel loose. If you have insulator nuts you could use those as well. Piece of rubber tubing works also. Safety always pays. You could use a fish aquarium air pump for a compressor.
"Blood seed" 😂😂😂😂 since I moved from NYC to the south i haven't heard that in awhile. I was about to build one myself. Once I got my cart full with everything i needed and saw the total at checkout i was like damn! I might as well just buy a smoke machine, which is what i did. I'm still going to build one in the near future just because i like projects like this. Great vid bro! 🙌🏿
I looked at at least 20 vids trying to find a diy smoke machine that would produce enough smoke to check for leaks in my AC ducts. All those other videos with rinky dinky smoke coming out! Yours will do just fine!😂 Thanks.
To anyone looking to make one of these, call around to your local vape stores. They sell coil wire in spools cheap. It works perfectly. 28 gauge. I paid $6 for It.
Put some dry ice and a tablespoon of salt water in it for Halloween! FOG that whole front yard up or better yet.. build two of them and show the whole block what you been up to!! Excellent video, steady laughs the whole way thru and even learned a few things! Nicely Done!!
That's amazing guy! I love this one! Thanks for the video. I'm going to make me one for my car to check on boost leaks. You're so funny as well on this video LOL! Thanks guy! God bless!
I wish you could bring that to my house! I'm thinking about using an air mattress pump, some tubing, and a cigar. Now I'm thinking of maybe a paint can with some charcoal in it.
Great video. I noticed you had the copper wire windings fairly close together. Any concerns that some of them are touching and shorting between them which would make your total resistance less and too much current flow? I have thought about using some enameled inductor/transformer winding wire since it wouldn't short if it touched, but you have to scrap off the enamel on the ends where it touches the bolts.
Thank you, its all a fairly cool science project so mixing it up with your touch can't hurt, or shouldn't hurt. I didn't actrually have any issues with mine and the wires. It smoked flawlessly with every use. I used it a hand full of times so far.
Most say if you are using standard copper wire you need a high Ohms to stop it from melting, how many Ohms are you using? I tried a Harbor Freight soldering iron but don't get enough smoke.
What were you using for your smoke solution you may want to Add some water to it 10 to 15% Should do it but I would test it out side somewhere safe and just increase the water % until it's SAFE. I was an Austin Fire Fighter for 25 years I'm just saying this thing could be a lot of fun but it also could be kinda Dangerous I wouldn't leave it unattended But that's just Me. But Great Idea..!!
Did u pour the baby oil on top of the wire? Also can someone recommend the exact guage wire that won't burn. I really need to do smoke test on my 02 camry getting CEL P0440 code EVAP leak. Thanks in advance.
Yes the oil was poured on top of the coiled wire with the wic running threw. You need 2ohms length of wire. I used solid copper wire that was 18 gauge. The gauge isn't as important as the fact that it needs to be 2ohms length of solid non stranded wire.
@@alhuegayle7550 Do you know the type fittings needed to connect this smoke machine one end to car evap port and other end to the portable air compressor that runs off of cig lighter in the car? @@syedfaz26 I'm not sure what fitting sizes you would need for your specific application. All you really need to do is connect a barb fitting because then you can use various size tubes to deliver the smoke. There isn't any one specific size fitting to go with.
Good job, I heard you say words like a Jamaican. I did build one but my smoke is not as thick, that is without the pump. I think my wiring may not be right.
Using that in a club is no go because of the baby oil. You don't want people slip on the floor once that stuff is all over that's a problem so I want to ask if you can just use the smoke stuff in that
Just some metal wire I had laying in my shop. It's about half the thickness of a wire coat hanger. Definitely works! I've helped someone pass emissions already with it. 💪🏾

You need resistance wire (Nichrome wire) which is used to make heating elements or polystyrene cutters
