  • Todays video is about how I go about sourcing stock from British Car Auctions online platform.
    The purpose of this video is to show you my method of filtering cars I'm interested in buying, and going through stages of elimination until I'm left with cars I'm ready to bid on. This safe guards me as much as possible when buying blind and it has helped me over the years by taking on less risk!
    I have tried to keep this a simple video so it is friendly with anyone that is looking to get into the trade! There are further checks you can do but these are the key points you should know when getting into the business.

    If you don't know what you're doing, these places are not for you. General rules are as follows;
    Don't buy when they say "dealer", "direct from dealer", "trade in", "sold as seen", "no v5", "only 1 key", "part service"........ in fact, you really shouldn't go there for a "bargain".
    Here's why, dealers only send cars there that they can't sell themselves,
    Sold as seen means if you drive it out and it explodes - - - tough, it's yours.
    No v5 = no log book, so it's more than likely a write off repaired badly and needs inspected by DVLA before you register it (and that ain't free).
    Only 1 key, good luck trying to get insurance as the previous owner probably still has the other one.
    Part service...... why?
    Oh, and do you know that "We Buy Anycar" is part of the BCA group - - - - any old banger can be sold to them and they ALWAYS end up at auction.
    If you HAVE to buy at auction, go online but do the following...... make any part of the payment by credit card, any amount, even only £1....... Section 75 of the credit card laws give the buyer 100% protection and if the vehicle is a dud, they will reimburse you the full amount of said vehicle. They then pursue the vendor for the full amount through the courts. My old man bought a car years ago from BCA, little did he know it was a cut and shut -------- even though BCA said it was fully inspected............. yeah right, inspected, by who, Mr Magoo

      It varies on many factors. i was 20 when I started and it was high because of my age, 4.5k back then.
      The best way to start is from home, keeps your overheads low!

      I had simpler question, I also want to start buying and selling smaller cars from home like 2 to 3 car per month as start but it's very hard to find insurance I can't even find anyone who covers under 25 years of age 😫, it's pain. And I can't find any video on step by step on how to register, get insurance, buy cars from, etc etc. It would be great if there was a video.

    • @BuySellCarsTV
      @BuySellCarsTV  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      These are the market guide trade prices, so if a car is in good standard with good paperwork then it should command cap clean instead of average or below. But it’s just a guideline, not an exact!

    What to look for: Do NOT trust the photo of the dashboard showing the engine running with no Warning lights or Engine Management lights (EML) on.That's because, very often these lights are turned off for the benefit of the photograph and the engine could be junk which you will discover when you pick it up - You have been warned. Good luck.

    How have you found buying online (new) Vs live(old) auction format. And do you feel your being given your online purchase rights if you have had any issues, or are you getting the "sold as seen" vibes from BCA.
    Thanks

    • @BuySellCarsTV
      @BuySellCarsTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has both pros and cons, but overall for me personally it is good and they have improved on condition reports as I guess they are focused on driving online only sales up now.

    • @82mrbob
      @82mrbob 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BuySellCarsTV I presume you've not had to make a condition complaint recently?
      As I'm advising people to make sure they know their distance selling rights for buying online, I've seen 1st hand vehicle's not fully described and customers not happy when they have then been told that they have purchased the vehicle sold as seen on essential checked cars.
      Have you experienced this?

    • @Harley-ir4er
      @Harley-ir4er 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      BCA use to be a decent place to buy cars, Not anymore and buying Online is a complete lottery from bca. All through my trading life I have always bought on-site this way you see the car, check the engine, hear it, smell it, talk to the driver, you simply cannot do this online and experience in the trade gives you an edge at physical auctions.

    BCA's got a lineup that could rival a comedy show - we've got foreign criminals, folks high on the cocktail of booze and cocaine, and a language barrier that turns English into a cryptic code. It's like working in a sitcom without the laughs. And let's not even talk about their "specialist recruitment" - more like a talent show for free labor.
    Sending an email there is like throwing a message in a bottle into a black hole - it never returns. Maybe they're using those emails as modern art, who knows? Anyway, I volunteered my skills, but they missed out on the chance for greatness. BCA is on a timeout from our services until they settle the bill for the job well done.
    So, in summary, BCA: where your career dreams go to take a nap, and health and safety are just fancy words in the dictionary. It's a comedy of errors, my friend!
