    the cutter worm is definitely my fave, because you can do ANYTHING with it. weighted, unweighted, swim it, drag it, hop it, take the tail off it like a regular stick worm, cut it down as a swimjig or bladed jig trailer, cut it down for on a shakey head or ned rig... DOES IT ALL!

    Just finding this video. Late to the party, lol, but I am just this year 2023 started experimenting with Cut R Worms. So, we'll see how I do, but as far as my go to worm that for me is very versatile is a ribbontail worm. 7" Tequila Sun color or Black/ blue color. It's just been super good for me.

    Gambler Burner Worm ! It’s a bigger profile and perfect for fishing deeper and around grass edges! When I’m going through grass or need a smaller profile, I use the CUT R Worm

    I've never thrown the full size Cut-R, but I've been throwing the ned Cut-R worm for the past year and it has become my go-to bait for slow fishing situations. It has absolutely been killing it in the lakes around here. I've never been a worm guy. The only other one i've ever really liked is the Senko.

  • @johnnyweaver1300

    My favorite was the ultra vibe speed worm can't hardly get a bite on it now, I've discovered the 5" stick z-man Zinker Z, rigged on a shakyhead favorite color new money or baby bass, but it depends on the weather & the water clarity, I've heard a lot of good things about the cutter worm may give it a try this year, do you think that it would better than an ol monster worm in the summer? 👍

    • @AndrewUpshawFishing
      @AndrewUpshawFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think both have their place. The ol monster might have the edge in the summer, but just barely

  • @davidroberts2476
    @davidroberts2476 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like using the Strike King or Z-Man Elastec plastic worms, with a Roboworm straight shank 1 ought hook, a light tungsten bullet weight, with a bobber stop about 3 inches up the line. When you cast this setup, the weight falls down to the bobber stop which allows the worm to float straight up......then giggle it a couple times, and if not hit, drag it a little, rinse and repeat. There's something about a floating worm that drives bass nuts over a sinking worm. I also grease the worm up with Megastrike Regular scent, and I skin hook the hook along the side of the worm just to keep it snagless. In clear water, I use the "Dirt" color, and in dirty or really stained water, "Junebug" is my go-to. The worm will last all day long without having to replace it.

    When I first started fishing 8 months ago my first bait was a zoom speed worm. I even caught my first 5 pound bass on it. But I trust you know what you’re talking about, so I will definitely give that worm a try! And would the lews Mach 2 bait caster it’s a 7’ medium heavy rod work? Does the 7’2 rod your using make a difference in what I’m using?

    Baby Huey weightless in the backs of pockets in the spring. They are huge and get big bites. It’s like the bass hate them and try to kill them.

  • @mercfastcar
    @mercfastcar 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mine has to be some sort of stick worm. Wacky rigged traditionally or rig as you would a trick worm but bring right through and thread 3/4 worm onto the line then let the hook dangle out of it completely. Gives it amazing action as there is no weight in the worm. If lots of weeds then retract it back into the worm. Texas, weighted/non, niko, shorten it on a Ned rig, or my favourite way is fishing it up to a half ounce , 5” worm pegging it and using either a straight shank flipping hook (4/0)/or offset worm hook and flipping it in heavy cover,cane etc. It works!! I think the Bass just don’t see a sinko falling so fast and if they don’t get it on the fall they check it out and have to eat it

    Thank you Andrew, 20 - 30# braid to 10- 20# fluorocarbon on 90 percent of my set ups I use those worm hooks on all my worms and lizards.Those baits are so thin not a need for a gaped hook found that out a long time ago when wider gaped hooks would cause bait to spin.I would have to agree with worm choice being most versatile for those who think it is a senko worm just bite the tail off 🤣 thanks again hope all is well.

    More times than not if it's got a weight on the nose Speed Worm Cut-R-Worm, no weight then Senko or some other stick bait. When it comes down to it if a stick worm is what you're after you can clip the tail off the speed worm and their you go, save yourself from buying an extra bag. Btw, doesn't everybody's bass fishing start dragging worms Uncle Bill Style? It definitely does in Florida, shout out to Mann's 8 inch Watermelon Jellyworm, and my first bass ever.

    Absolutely going to give the SK KVD Cutter worm, Berkeley Speed Boss and of course the Zoom Speed Worm a try my next several trips out to see if one works best in my lakes or will do they all work equally well
    Right now for the last three weeks Ive been enjoying phenomenal success like you are in this video with the KVD Cutter Worm but fishing a T-Rigged 5.25" Zoom Super Fluke or Cabelas copy the Shadee shad and I mean I am absolutely murdering the bass as the weed growth in my lakes since mid April make casting crankbsits a waist of time and effort 90% of the time
    What is utterly perplexing me is the bass in the lakes by my house absolutely love 5-5.25" flukes but do not like the 5" KVD Caffeine Shad and I have no explanation as to why more than on one occasion will start out with a 5" weightless T-Rigged Caffeine Shad in Pearl Flash a color that works fantastically well in all my lakes
    Fish an area by picking it apart not get a single hit
    Switch over to a ZSF or Cabelas Shadee Shad rigged same way in Pearl Flash fish same exact way in the same areas and catch 8-10 bass.
    My only 2 guesses and it is purely a guessing on my part is a bare Caffeine Shad weighs a little

  • @jeepslivin
    @jeepslivin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow, where to start. Ok so i have never ished a cutter worm. Usually t rigged i use a tequila sunrise ribbon tail. I fish a weighted swimbait hook with a (dint know what there called) fat worm with with cupped trick worm style tai(done well with it fishing like a slow jerk bait) . Honestlt never had any success with a senko style worm. Think i fish it to fast. Maybe a cutter worm will fill the gap in between. I use alot of craw baits. Matrix is my fav. Action, swims but not obtrusive live a rage. Lets go fishing.
