It is a great technique. I used to use Fat Ikas but now I have great success with the DoLive Shot...it’s a little more finesse and it will glide farther than anything else I’ve tried and the hook up ratio is far better.

Green pumpkin because it works everywhere but a lot of people here in Michigan use that color so I like to change it up to black/blue flake and black/red/flake. I'm not sure any one color works better than the other, I think the key is to switch colors often and put whatever you're using in front of fish. I like the tail weight idea because like you said, a lot of fish haven't seen this and they should hit it. Walking out to my boat now to rig a couple so I have them ready the next time I get out. Thanks Andrew, Love this Idea, I fish a senko sometimes with a tail spinner screwed in and I noticed that it would glide back under docks as well. I'll definitely put the nail weight in use next time I'm in the right situation!

Bama craw! On my home lake it works basically all the time... It's orange and green pumpkin. It works in dirty water and clean water. Favorite bait in this the creme Cinco style worm.
Andrew I saw this and it cracked me up. I started doing that about 10 years ago ,started out cutting finishing nails for carpentry and a little super glue. Then the lead weights came out and there ya have it. Color for me is based on sunlight and water color , on bright days I like watermelon red, overcast green pumpkin, dark cloudy days blk/blu. I also finesse frog fish with a spinning rod 7’ bass pro bionic blade an Abu Garcia Revo Rocket 30 7.1:1 ratio and 20lb power pro. I’ve caught more fish 4/5 lbers on that rig. Throwing a zoom horny toad 4/0 ewg hook. Watermelon red 90% of the time. I’ve drug 5 lbers up and out of the pads with that rig. Peace bro good luck. God bless.

This rig shines when working a laydown as it glides back after pulling it over each branch Buy a box of screws, they hold much better and are cheaper than nail weights. This is an awesome way to recycle swimbaits with no tail, screw in the fat side and it drops like a bomb!! Tight lines and fat fish for everyone!!
My favorite finesse bait is a Texas rigged magnum creature bait (watermelon red), 4/0 super line hook and a 1/2 ounce tungsten bullet weight. Is that finesse? 😳
