I think Spinoza was correct! Even in the Bible it says: "I the Lord do not change" and Brahman in Hinduism is changeless and the origin of all things. Personally I see reality as Indra's net without the "jewels". That's an infinite complete graph. And the manifested reality can be seen as a changeless subgraph of Indra's net with infinite intelligence. Time is produced because infinity can never be reached.
Yet religions drastically failed to explain as coherent like Spinoza. We owe a great deal to him.
@@IvanKaramazov-zv6mn Religion is based on beliefs laid by the proponents. Even metaphorical explanations will lead to dogmas in the followers. Religion in its attempt to address illogical minds is creating chaos at a higher philosophical level .

If an intelligent eternal Being has universal imagination and cosmic creativity, then that self-contained Being might desire to create Imperfect beings/humans.
Giving the perfect eternal Being/God, a self challenge, to enlighten and have the imperfect humans to embrace and be like God.
Therefore, divine God has a will --- a spiritual will for humans to attain the higher ways of heavenly paradise.

It's crazy how I've always had these thoughts as a Christian, which led me to become an atheist, without even having heard of Spinoza or his argument😮

God has not created any human being in his own image, what he has created, self-aware and intelligent, is the air that surrounds the earth, and man or any other creature owes his self-awareness and intelligence to this air. in which they are all immersed, and that self-aware, intelligent creator who created the entire universe is nothing or anyone but the unique, incomparable space of the sky.

Spinoza's concept of God as a unified substance that encompasses everything in existence might seem divergent from the anthropomorphic deity depicted in traditional religious texts. However, Spinoza's aim is not to negate the Tanakh but to offer a philosophical reinterpretation that reconciles reason with faith. In his view, God's "will" is not akin to human volition but rather unfolds through the natural laws governing the universe.

It is true that the laws of nature and creation are the expression of God's will, but as a Jew, Spinoza learned the Bible, and in the Bible, the founding fathers of the nation of Israel, and the prophets, reveal to us the will of God, not only in nature, but specifically what God expects from human beings as individuals, and as a nation. I find it very strange that Spinoza speaks of the attributes of God while simply ignoring the prophesies of the Bible, and the dialogue between God and humans. God revealed Himself to Abraham and Moses for a purpose. Of course God has a will.
@hemdanissan9289 in Spnoza's view, God's will is not anthropomorphized or contingent upon individual human interactions as depicted in biblical narratives. FORHIM God's will is expressed through the immutable laws of nature, which govern the universe in a rational and deterministic manner.
Spioza's departure from the anthropomorphic conception of God found in traditional religious texts allows for a deeeper exploration of the natural order and the underlying principles that govrn existence. Rather than focusing on specific divine commands or prophecies. welcome to the channel

I always find it funny when people believe the devil gave man free will because of the tree of knowledge. The main issue is God told Adam and Eve they were to not eat the fruit. You can’t have temptation without choice. As for the tree of knowledge I think the name is self exclamatory. Knowledge is neither benevolent or malevolent, its what you do with the knowledge that matters.
God wanted them to stay ignorant. If they were indeed ignorant, that means they didn't know that eating the fruit was wrong.
@@exaucemayunga22 The issue with your claim is that not all knowlage is good. Not to mention the reason kids are eased into adulthood is because studies have shown children who are exposed to sex and other adult things early often grow up tramatized.
One perfect example of knowlage not being inheranly good is Socialism in general. It has never worked, people who claim it's never been truely tried are delusional and its caused more suffering than any other ideology in human history.
Heres an example, ever have your own parents tell you NOT to do something only to do it anyways? I bet at least once you've disobeyed them. As people grow up they begin to understand the reasons why their parents tell them not to do things. Children are stupid and I bet adam and eve had the brains of children.

@Reso-pn7kr read the Old Testament and tell yourself that God is simply spirit. The dude has a mouth, eyes, hands, feet, a back, can eat, can fight, and can feel every human emotion (except horniness).
Your God can talk, walk, rest, etc... He even lost a fight to Chemosh in 2 Kings 3. Read your damn Bible instead of throwing arguments you hear from apologists.

I simply find the use of ‘He’ and like pronouns awkwardly placed in Spinoza’s dialectic.

Spinoza seems to have a partially Catholic view of things but gets off somewhat when he says God IS the universe and does not create deliberately. He's close then veers off into the weeds.

You are assuming that the Bible is the word of God and not the writings of ancient minds who didn't know what they were talking about.

Do you think you can simply erase the word of God, the Bible, and still presume you can describe philosophically what God is about? No.
God is described in the Bible. There is no other God, or a "philosophical" invented God. God has given us the Bible and traditions and prophets so that we know who is God and what he wants from us.
Hemda, what about all the Gods people believed in before the Bible God like Odin, Thor, Apollo, Olokun, Amun-Ra, etc etc all of whom have been consigned to the graveyard of mythology which is where the Monotheistic God also belongs.

Why should he have cared about sleeping around with women when he could dedicate his life on writing Ethics? I would trade half my life to become a genius if I could to produce a great work for humanity. Perhaps, the world need more virgins like Newton and Spinoza than people like Casanova.
@@IvanKaramazov-zv6mn Not "sleeping around," silly. Baruch, who was indeed an unparalleled genius as some of us have noted (and whom I still love), never knew the joys of sex. He never knew the responsibilities of marriage and fatherhood. There's an old expression, which I believe comes from the Zohar: "A man without a woman is half-a-man."
