- I was so excited to receive this toolbox. It is very similair to the husky HOTC5623BB2S and the husky H52CH6TR9HDV3

If you have EVER worked in a large repair shop you will immediately cherish the lack of slamming tool drawers all day long. They can be heard clear over in the sales department and certainly in the customer waiting area. Soft close also gives the illusion of quality which is always nice. Thanks for the video, it helped me to pull the trigger.

Husky is a very underrated product all around. Soft close is good for the barrings I believe. I thank it extends the life of the barrings.

I'm very torn on this box. I was looking at the matte white HD box, but I can foresee greasy fingerprints being a pain in the rear to wipe off it.

On your big drawer is the handle attached to anything in the middle? I just got one of these and the middle of the handle for the big drawer is bolted to a piece of gray metal, but that isn't attached to anything. I think I got a defect, but I was trying to see how yours was.
So a couple of other differences im noticing between the black box which i own and your grey box is that on the top box my bottom drawers are a little bit deeper and the narrower drawer locks separate from the rest of the box. Also my bottom box bottom drawers are the same depth as your narrow bottom drawer so i have 1 less longer drawer than you.

I hope you can answer my question. I just got this box, and the widest drawer has a center support/hinge for the handle. Is your support welded to the inside of the drawer? Mine is just loose and if I wiggle the handle is rubs against the inside of the drawer and scrapes off the powdercoat.
If I where you, I’d go back to HD and look at one on the floor.
You should glue your tools down so they don’t move when you slam the drawers. It will always look nice plus you won’t loose any tools right.
Yea that's what I ended up doing. Super glue ended up holding them down really tight!!

Pretty sure Black tool boxes are the heavy duty line, 18 ga steel, and grey is their professional line, 16 ga steel

Great if you bought it for color and faint Husky logo, but crap box if you bought it for quality, even compared to the US General.
It's held up very well so far. Seems to be of very usable quality
