Dude... All this work inspires me to go buy one of these 997s in mint condition. Nothing more enjoyable than watching someone else do all the hard work. Amazing work my friend! I really hope when it's finished, you don't drive it like a grandma.
I watch so many different TH-cam channels related to everything cars that I can no longer keep track. However, "Matt Ross" has creeped his way up to #1 in my books! I have never once had to sit here screaming at the screen, "Aren't you going to clean that first!" or "What do you mean you're not going to fix that because no one will see it!" (Yes I have issues.) The attention to detail is amazing and everything always turns out 100% better than when it first entered "Matt's Magic Garage". You should be proud of everything you've accomplished.
Hard to believe it's already been six months, Matt! (I mean from my viewing perspective, I'd imagine for you, it's been nearly interminable) Certainly not a project for those faint of heart. Especially with all of the great upgrades. Your attention to detail with the 911and your video editing is awesome! Love the progress! :)
Honestly, absolutely insane that you’re building a 997turbo from the ground up by hand in your garage at home. And it’s looking amazing. Very jealous of the radio/camera setups in all your cars haha
Coming along nicely! Since you usually like to upgrade the head unit in your cars, I would love to see you do the Porsche Classic PCM ugrade in the 997- not cheap, but not outrageous (by Porsche standards) either. Factory Porsche quality and reliability, but all the modern conveniences.
@@matt13rossit's the most transformative update for the 997.1. A 991.2, 718, or macan steering wheel transforms the interior into a much more modern appearance
Looking awesome Matt congrats, great work! I’d suggest getting the Porsche Aluminium pedals they look and feel much nicer, have them on my 987 Cayman and they’re great!
@@matt13ross lol I will be on the lookout going forward. If that's the case... I am going to go back and see if there is a steering wheel upgrade easter egg :)
Hey Matt, The car is really coming along niceky, and that terra cotta interior contrasts nicely with the grey bodywork. However, a word of warning, please dont forget to check the AC evaporator radiator & expansion valve for leaks/hissing noises BEFORE installing the complete dashboard, otherwise you'll have to dismantle the dash assembly again just to access the evaporator assembly.....dont ask me how I know! 😊
Well... it is certainly coming together. Congrats. An advice on the dashcam.. install looks clean... but can be cleaner. In both fuse rails (passenger and driver), Porsche engineers placed live connectors in both rails. There is a OEM refrofit guide to install a dashcam without need to place a dongle on a already hot fuse (and risking amperage draw).
congrats CF looks good, i might put some dynomat to make it even quieter depending on the weight and i might have shampood or had someone clean the carpets first, all not big deals, look great, dont forget to insure it before you start to drive it around just in case
Hi Matt. I love the colour of this Intior, and it will look amazing with the colour of the car. God, I have waited for ages to see the entire finally in. A big step. That camera looks nice and tidy in the number plate, lol. That's a cool dashcam. I remember on the News that a gang of drug importers got nabbed at their warehouse after the Police came and got everyone bang to rights when they checked the criminal dashcam in his car parked outside. The police caught them all coming and going from the place. Sorry Matt, that's my dashcam story 😅😅 great video bro 👍 👋👋🇨🇮
I am surprised that with the entire interior out you didn't sound deaden the entire car with Kilmat or Dynamat or something similar. I had the interior out of my 08 Vette and I lined it with Kilmmat. What a huge difference.
That was my thought as well. Somewhat modern Porsche shouldn't need extra sound deadening. The carpet is REALLY thick too. Plus factory sound panels are in there.
I’m commenting just to help the Algorithm Gods push this video harder. Matt deserves a larger audience. One of the most entertaining channels on TH-cam at the moment.
You should check the sunroff for water before installing the rest of the interior............... Most satisfying procedure yet....installing everything and make it a car again from a very expensive LEGO
Great work, like always. Quick question. How are you registering the car? VIN is on chassis, so I assume it will go with orange car? Did it have a salvage title? Curious how he history of two cars merge.

Man that is a killer color combo
You should make your own insignia, and have it embroidered somewhere in the interior. Matt Ross Rebuilds.
Hahah!
I like this color combo. It looks great.

Wow. Looks good keep it going.
Wow Matt. Gotta say that the car is looking amazing. Really pumped to see when the interior is completed.Love your work!
Love it Matt! The interior color has really grown on me. Awesome job mate, hope you’re proud!
I love the color, but I’d probably have died the carpet as it looks sun faded. You’re nearly finished now Matt! 👍🏻
No fade here! I was all kept indoors
@@matt13ross I guess on camera it just looks lighter than the non carpeted parts. Goes great with the grey for sure
Blown away by how much you can do. And make it look so easy.
Some of it is easy. Other parts not so much lol.
Very Nice! Great content!
Keep up the good work.

Keep it up Matt!! Progress is great! Still waiting on the E30 content ha and the new bmw stuff!

Matt, for the first time your car is looking like a car. A mighty fine looking car at that, brilliant job as always.
Well done Matt things are progressing really quickly now. Love that little cash cam..... Gonna get me one of those. Nice😁
Matt one suggestion put a newer steering wheel on it. I have seen it done before.

Yup, that was my plan!
Looking good Matt. Thought there might have been some sound deadening on the floor pans?? You can buy some sticky down stuff that'll do the job. 😎👍

I have the same Terra Cotta colour interior in my car. 👌 Love it!
Amazing work my friend.
I think Porsche should hire you to work in their restoration shop. You just amaze me in you ability to be able to put this car back together.

Matt, love the videos and keep them coming! You also have a beautiful Husky.
Thanks!!
Man that headliner was WAY easier to remove than the one I did in my 90 Eclipse lol, Genius!
I thought the same. Way too easy!
Careful with the door card (panel) clips; if they're not new and soft, they might not seal, which means you'll get wet carpets on the door cards.
I hope that doesn't happen!
I am surprised that with the entire interior out you didn't sound deaden the entire car with Kilmat or Dynamat or something similar. I had the interior out of my 08 Vette and I lined it with Kilmmat. What a huge difference.
The c6 Vette interior rattles, squeaks, and is loud. The 997.1 interior is drastically better. No need for sound deadening material
That was my thought as well. Somewhat modern Porsche shouldn't need extra sound deadening. The carpet is REALLY thick too. Plus factory sound panels are in there.

I wish the scheme was Nardo grey, terracota interior and Oem rear wing.. since you already have a tunned 911. Awesome job anyway!!

I would have thought you’d add some sound deadening like dynamat before putting the interior back in
If it was an old car, yes. But this is a modern ish Porsche. Super thick carpet, OEM sound panels already, just isn't necessary.
