The loophole that Akane was talking about,was that Aqua never thought of the chance that instead of his “dad” having the affair,it was Airi having the Affair. And when The husband figured out that she was having the Affair(you’ll see why he acted like this in season 3/4)he killed her,then himself which is the “double suicide” assumption. And in the DNA test results in the end of episode 9 it said *High chance* ,not guaranteeing they have the same parents. Aqua just assumed that since Airi was Taiki’s mother,that the other guy was most likely his father.
Loophole explanation Akane edition.
-Aqua assumed that his biological father is Uehara, and that Uehara cheated on Airi with Ai while they have a son name Taiki... but negelect the possibility that Airi is the one who cheated with the actual biological dad making Uehara not the biological father as we can see from this episode that is the case as the biological dad made the appearance.
Loophole explanation for viewers:
-Taiki just turn 20, the twins are 16 soon to be 17... very soon. Taiki parents died when he was 5, Ai mureder happened when the twins was 3 as Ai had just turned 20. Remember she gave birth to them at 16 so her birthday had to past. So it's not possible at all for Uehara to be the biological father as he died when the Twins were 2 years old. Not to mention Ai literally called the biological dad days before her murder. So many people didn't question this... when I was reading this I kept asking that question.
To anyone thinking this explanation is a spoiler... it is NOT. This information comes from this episode, last episode and the first 86 minute episode. Age and dates were dropped for a reason, for the viewers to catch on the inconsistency of Taiki's beliefs and what actually happened. I'm stating this because in a different video someone complained about revealing this info in which the end of this episode literally confirms that Airi cheated on her husband.

I was thinking about what you said in your last paragraph. Right after taiki said that his father died while he was young, I was like "wait, so he left some type of command to the dude that came and killed ai?". I realised afterwards that it would be bs for this to be the reason so I figured that uehara wasn't actually the dad.
Everything will go nuts starting next episode. The Private Arc is now truly begin. Can't wait for your reaction for the upcoming episodes, man, so much happening that you might not expecting to happened.

The loophole Akane was talking went unnoticed by Aqua because he finally feels free from his burden, so he doesn't wanna see a simple thing that he normally would have noticed immediately.

The loophole is that Himekawa's mother cheated with Ruby and Aqua's dad and had Himekawa with him. The guy at the end is the father of all 3 of them., the DNA test was not fake.
Loophole was that Aqua only thought that his Dad had cheated....it never crossed his mind that the woman he cheated on was the cheater all along... In that case Aqua's real dad is alive all along
In the ending, he is credited as "Sunglasses guy" voiced by ???, the same VA as Imu
I know people wanted Miyano Mamoru for the father, but not gonna lie I kinda wanted Toshiyuki Morikawa to voice him.

Michael, if you look carefully at the part where Aqua was talking about his condition and Akane felt bad, in the black and white animations, Akane imagined maybe there was a sperm which got Ai pregnant apart from all that happening and Uehara is not the real father of Himekawa and Aqua.

8:30 I kinda agree, but I expected the opposite to happen tbh. As we saw, when he was struggling about Ai and the doctor side of his was saying "you can't be happy, you failed her" (in that scary flashback), it looked like the young Aqua wanted to separate from the doctor. But maybe I'm just overthinking things here.

And As I said last episode Himekawa's parents died when he was 5, he is 20 which will be 15 years ago.
AI died when the twin was 3 which was 13 years ago since Aqua is 16.
So the died dad is not Both Himekawa nor Aqua's dad
Other has said their point about the loophole. But I'd just say about Akane and Aqua's relationship at this point doesn't really seem to go with romantic vibe. Aqua is using Akane for her brain despite feeling some guilts on the process, while Akane is mostly genuinely helping him out of pure gratitude from him stopping her back then.
But anyway prop to the creative director for putting a not so obvious hint on the loophole, so anime only viewer would need to think through the abstract scene more to figure out the actual context.

I’m guessing it’s was himakawa’s mum that had the affair with aqua’s dad to produce him, then her husband found out and unalive her then himself, that’s the only loop hole that makes sense, unless aqua’s dad has been watching their ever move and pulled some strings to fake that DNA test some how

Uehara-san has no children. Airi cheated on him with Hikaru when Hikaru was 11 y.o. And when Hikaru and Ai fell in love each other at their early teenage years. And you know the rest. But i wonder how 11 year old kid can be father for health baby without any risk? Or Taiki just so lucky boy?!

The Simple Loophole was that The Mother could had Cheated on her husband with the Twins father and had Himekawa instead of him cheating on her with Ai and had the Twins
it's honestly not even a loophole. if Aqua had paid attention (or hadn't willfully ignored the facts), he would have instantly realized that Himekawa lost his legal father 15 years ago. two years before Ai's death.

i hasnt read the manga yet but i also think that its kind of weird bcs himekawa's mother is supposed to self deleted herself and her husband bcs her husband probably cheated, when himekawa was 5 yo. The age differences between himekawa and aqua is quite big but aqua was like 4 yo when ai died, so himekawa's father cant be aqua's father yk, the timeline doesnt match, unless their father is a different man, and that himekawa's mother cheated on her husband thats why he self deleted himself and his wife? idk this is just my assumption
