Uh ... it's a five-card combo. Play it for yourself and see how "consistent" it is. There's so many paints of failure here, it's not even funny. Removal for one. Counters for another. Artifact destruction as at least a serious disruption. Hate cards. There's a reason this deck isn't being played and it's not because no one had the idea before to chain free creatures into each other. As I always say, if a deck looks too good to be true give it a go and see for yourself. I mean I still wanna see this being played because the other candidates aren't better but come on ...
Oh, I know, I took that into account. But you need to have at least four cards and usually it is five. Bear 1, Cloudstone Curio, Bear 2 and Grapeshot. More often than not it will be at least five though, namely either a Trophy Mage (to get CC) and/or Hazoreth's Monument (to find Grapeshot). As for fitting more protection in there, good luck. The bad thing about combo decks is that they usually have few flex slots lest their consistency suffer significantly. Like I said, play it and see for yourself. I did and I'm not impressed. Yes, there exists the sweet T1 Hierarch, T2 Cloudstone Curio, T3 Bear into Bear into loop into Grapeshot for the win sequence but it's not exactly likely and the average game plays a lot more awkwardly than that. In fact, I won more games through the inefficient beatdown plan than with the combo itself. This is more Against the Odds than competitive brew. I mean, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind watching this. But don't go into it expecting a good record. This is "consistent" only in getting the turn 5 win and even that still requires a bunch of things to go right (i.e. essentially no disruption like discard, counters or removal). And turn 5 doesn't even really cut it in Modern.
As the creator of the deck, I can confirm that you usually win with the beat down plan. I usually go ~3/2 or 2/3 with the deck. It's still extremely fun and hilarious to see your opponents read cloudstone when you cast it the first time lol
I think a single copy of Rhonas's Monument could be good, considering che cost reduction applied to many creatures of the deck and the +2/+2 buff that could allow creatures without summoning sickness to become huge when attacking. Other than that, great deck
This was exactly my thought, though I'm not sure what single card you'd remove from the main deck to fit it in. Perhaps a Mayor, but that's dropping a lord.
Please make a video for games for this! I had this idea when herbalist was spoiled but could not think of how to fit it in a deck. I am so happy someone did!
I have played around with this idea. I actually went with myr superion(i want to make that card work, damnit!) and friends instead of a combo, but then again i'm not one for infinite combos. And play it!
I absolutely love how this can be agro or combo, the versatility keeps opponents on their toes. The sideboard answers are all tutored by trophy mage too, so it’s got consistency where it counts. Everything I’d want in a modern deck that costs $1000 lol
TheMrFrankov *tremors* but you are on the right track my man. I had similar thoughts for a win con. That or put purphoros in and replace the collected companies with eldritch evolutions or something to that effect.
arsminecraft Yeah that seems like the better wincon over grapeshot since it can get around a Leyline of Sanctity. Though it's also just another target on the field for you opponent to disrupt so maybe a mix of them would be best.
2 and 2 seems best, tremors + grapeshot. I think it's because you can use the creature mana to cast grapeshot at the end whereas impact tremors has to be down though
HolyBird007 You can also remove Cavern of Souls. That's another 200 dollars. Down to 600 now. The only problem is that it's 3-colored. Seth explained in an article that 3-colored budget decks are largely dysfunctional. The only reasonable cut is on blue, but that lowers consistency. All that doesn't even matter that much, though, because Hidden Herbalists need fetches to... well, work, really. The best budget replacement would have to be Satyr Hedonist, but it's still pretty bad. Removing all the fetches and shock lands and throwing in budget lands could drop its price, but only so much. In conclusion, you could probably bring its price down fairly far, but I don't think it's worth it. You'd wind up with a pretty lousy, uncompetitive, and inconsistant deck. If you'd want something similar, I'd recommend looking into either Seth's budget Shamans deck, a budget gr monsters deck, or some budget elves.
Well, if you go for the double priest of urabrask plan it still works. I like the idea of grapseshotting off of their grapeshot, most storm players would never see it coming from mono-bear tribal.
BassBaseAce Yeah, I get it, and you can dig out the singleton, but like you say there are options that aren't so Magical Christmas against storm already. Or maybe go _more MCL_ and replace it with Soul Warden and hope you can cast it off your Cave?
A bear is a 2/2 in Magic since a card named grizzly bears became kinda iconic early in the game. The same is true for Hill giants as 3/3 and a couple other different sets of Power/toughness or sets of abilities. Ie, creatures that let you draw cards but will lose you live are Bobs, after the Card Dark Confidant illustrated after a Magic Player named Bob Maher etc
Omg, i tried to make a deck that was like this. Budget tho, with black and white instead of blue. It was total trash. Also impact tremors works well and speeds up the clock if u need to go on the aggro plan. Imma update the deck now with hidden herbalist and coco on tapped out. Thank you so much Seth!!!
I made a similar deck, but it was grinning ignus bouncing into pyromancer's swath into grapeshot. didn't take much to get there since every storm was 3 damage.
Interesting seems inspired by palinchron Storm from vintage cube. Also lol @ cloud stone curio during Ravnica flashback drafts I had an opponent lock me out of the game with that card and the 6 mana dude that puts a card on top of your deck.
You should play this deck. I had a friend who brewed something similar that he called "creature storm". It was always missing something though which was apparently cloudstone curio
A possible back-up condition you could lean into is Reckless Bushwhacker; chain a few of these guys together into a Whacker and swing for like 8 or 9 in one turn
PLAY IT! what about 1 or to manamorphose to make the priest of urabrask-antisynergy less awkward? also it helps to cast grapeshot without storm as a removal spell! casting grapshot with storm=2,3,4 seems like it could happen a lot, since you cast so many bears! i like the consistency of being able to use grapeshot even without the combo!
Love the deck but hate the 1 of trinisphere in the sideboard. I get you can tutor it with trinket mage but by the time it comes down you already lost to storm I would think. Also feel like this deck wants some amount of ensnaring bridge in the side as opposed to a dismember. Because it wins by infinite storm and that bides time.
Correct me if i`m wrong, but if your opponent resolves a Torpor Orb, you have literally no way of dealing with it. So i guess you should put in something like 1 or 2, destructive Revelery to deal with it. They can also deal with stuff like Affinity just like the recsages
I dare claiming Torpor Orb isn't going to be a problem, because it's not being played. However, any kind of instant-speed removal can fizzle the combo, and that *is* being played by pretty much all competitive decks.
The biggest problem of the deck seems to be that it should have almost never a 2 mana spell for turn 2 except for Mayor. My gess is you would want to hold some of your stuff for more explosive plays. But I still want it.
Hide and seek is a card you should look at for modern. I’m thinking life’s legacy control with slaughter games as well as just “don’t kill me” cards. Force your opponent into a situation where they are unable to find cards they can win with. Secret tech: use the eldrazi processors to make any card you “seek” for a surgical target.
I’d watch you play this. Looks like a lot of fun
I did play it. This deck stinks :(
You picked it!!!! Thanks so much for sharing the deck, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This is the one that I want to see actually played
Looks like a ton of fun and a unique take on storm.
This is definitely a SaffronOlive special
This seems surprisingly consistent. Sweet built.
Uh ... it's a five-card combo. Play it for yourself and see how "consistent" it is. There's so many paints of failure here, it's not even funny. Removal for one. Counters for another. Artifact destruction as at least a serious disruption. Hate cards.

I mean I still wanna see this being played because the other candidates aren't better but come on ...
+BrewBrewBrewTheDeck 3 of the cards are redundant. But, it does need more protection.

Usually i don't like storm decks (always play the same), but this looks really fun to play.
This deck seems amazing. Play it.
this needs to be played
I think a single copy of Rhonas's Monument could be good, considering che cost reduction applied to many creatures of the deck and the +2/+2 buff that could allow creatures without summoning sickness to become huge when attacking.
Other than that, great deck

Honestly seems pretty consistent and really fun, I want to watch you play this deck
I'm not usually excited about Fishbowl decks, but this one is really amusing. I wouldn't mind seeing it.
And play it!
qwormuli I use the superion and Talara’s Battalion. This deck could even consider Greenwheel Liberator
That is a pretty awesome deck, I would love to see you play it
I love alternate approaches to old archetypes. Play this!
This deck is so cool :D would love to see it in action!
Really cool deck, I'd love to see it running
Fishbowl Thursday is best Thursday
I absolutely love how this can be agro or combo, the versatility keeps opponents on their toes. The sideboard answers are all tutored by trophy mage too, so it’s got consistency where it counts. Everything I’d want in a modern deck that costs $1000 lol
This is an actually interesting build of Storm. Would watch
This is a very unique deck I would love to see gameplay of it!
You could use impact treamors to go around leylines
TheMrFrankov *tremors* but you are on the right track my man. I had similar thoughts for a win con. That or put purphoros in and replace the collected companies with eldritch evolutions or something to that effect.
Plzzzzzzzzzz play this!!!!!!!!
Why not Impact Tremors as a kill-con?
arsminecraft Yeah that seems like the better wincon over grapeshot since it can get around a Leyline of Sanctity. Though it's also just another target on the field for you opponent to disrupt so maybe a mix of them would be best.
2 and 2 seems best, tremors + grapeshot. I think it's because you can use the creature mana to cast grapeshot at the end whereas impact tremors has to be down though
I might try this out in the list! thanks!
This is ridiculously spicy. I'm not sure how well it will work but I would love to see the attempt.
This looks absolutely hilarious. Please run this!
This looks so fun! Please Seth, play it! Pleaaaaaase!
This deck screams BUDGET MAGIC... sweet!!
1000 dollar deck?
Except for the mana base which isn't replaceable.
HolyBird007 my one needs no landstappedout.net/mtg-decks/legacy-creature-storm-2/
That's an expensive budget deck lol budget vintage maybe.
HolyBird007 You can also remove Cavern of Souls. That's another 200 dollars. Down to 600 now.

I want to see this played.
Love to watch you play this. My only doubt is Trinisphere, maybe a card that doesn't screw Storm in a Storm deck?
Well, if you go for the double priest of urabrask plan it still works. I like the idea of grapseshotting off of their grapeshot, most storm players would never see it coming from mono-bear tribal.
BassBaseAce
Yeah, I get it, and you can dig out the singleton, but like you say there are options that aren't so Magical Christmas against storm already. Or maybe go _more MCL_ and replace it with Soul Warden and hope you can cast it off your Cave?
Honestly disappointed by the lack of actual bears
Your lack of bears is disturbing.
Cspence1010 but but panharmonicon
It's more disappointing then no bears
this sad truth bears despair in my life
In Magic: the Gathering terminology, they *are* bears.
I love the deck, hope you run it. I think that we definitely don't need a playset of grape shot, since you can draw through the whole deck anyway.
More like human storm
A bear is a 2/2 in Magic since a card named grizzly bears became kinda iconic early in the game. The same is true for Hill giants as 3/3 and a couple other different sets of Power/toughness or sets of abilities.
Ie, creatures that let you draw cards but will lose you live are Bobs, after the Card Dark Confidant illustrated after a Magic Player named Bob Maher etc
Looks really interesting should definitely stream this
I would love to see you play this.
I'd like to see you play this. I have a similar combo in a commander deck
Omg, i tried to make a deck that was like this. Budget tho, with black and white instead of blue. It was total trash. Alternative title: Bearnado
this is hilarious, i really want to see if this deck can really happen
This deck look sick!
Mayor of Avabruck should be in the sideboard for some sweet transformational sideboard action
This is the best storm deck iv ever seen
I don't know how to vote for this, but you have my vote times 400% for much abrew. This seems super sweet
This looks like a great idea. Let's play it!
Sideboard Dosan, the falling leaf if you're worried about counters
Played a few Elf Combo decks with Cloudstone. It can be a fun card.
Yup, this one, play this one!
Fishbowl Thursdays is fast becoming my favourite Instant Deck Tech day.
It looks super interesting
Interesting seems inspired by palinchron Storm from vintage cube. Also lol @ cloud stone curio during Ravnica flashback drafts I had an opponent lock me out of the game with that card and the 6 mana dude that puts a card on top of your deck.

Seems super sweet
Man, i can't wait to see some Rivals of Ixalan cards on the Against the Odd's series, so many good cards on the set...
Yes plz
Would loveeeeeee to see this played
I NEED TO SEE THIS!
Seems really cool.
A possible back-up condition you could lean into is Reckless Bushwhacker; chain a few of these guys together into a Whacker and swing for like 8 or 9 in one turn
This deck is super sweet, play this
PLAY IT! what about 1 or to manamorphose to make the priest of urabrask-antisynergy less awkward? also it helps to cast grapeshot without storm as a removal spell! casting grapshot with storm=2,3,4 seems like it could happen a lot, since you cast so many bears! i like the consistency of being able to use grapeshot even without the combo!
Looks amazing haha, play it!
A more broad version of storm, definitely piqued my interest
Reckless bushwhacker feels like a better backup win
Yes, play this amazing jank!
Does this deck need Duskwatch Recruiter? It helps you find your mana-bears, and if it flips over, it's the equivalent of a Goblin Electromancer.
Love the deck but hate the 1 of trinisphere in the sideboard. I get you can tutor it with trinket mage but by the time it comes down you already lost to storm I would think. Also feel like this deck wants some amount of ensnaring bridge in the side as opposed to a dismember. Because it wins by infinite storm and that bides time.
looks really fun
please play this deck
Nice deck
I am a simple man, I see an alternative storm deck and I click like
Please play this, this looks so fun!
This so crazy it might work.
Love this deck tech please play this
Correct me if i`m wrong, but if your opponent resolves a Torpor Orb, you have literally no way of dealing with it. So i guess you should put in something like 1 or 2, destructive Revelery to deal with it. They can also deal with stuff like Affinity just like the recsages
Seems like a good sideboard option.
Senpai told me i did guuuud ;) jk
Yea but I cannot name a time I saw torpor orb in modern ever
I dare claiming Torpor Orb isn't going to be a problem, because it's not being played. However, any kind of instant-speed removal can fizzle the combo, and that *is* being played by pretty much all competitive decks.
Zack Estin I have a torpor orb deck in modern. It's a bit off the wall, but it's good
This is very unique, play it!
I wonder if Myr Superion would be good enough here.
What, no Impact Tremors love?
I need you to play this
The biggest problem of the deck seems to be that it should have almost never a 2 mana spell for turn 2 except for Mayor. My gess is you would want to hold some of your stuff for more explosive plays. But I still want it.
Yaaaaas.
THIS IS AWESOME!!!
i really wanna see this. Cloudstone Curio is an awesome card and sees to less play
this looks insane...play it
Hide and seek is a card you should look at for modern. I’m thinking life’s legacy control with slaughter games as well as just “don’t kill me” cards. Force your opponent into a situation where they are unable to find cards they can win with. Secret tech: use the eldrazi processors to make any card you “seek” for a surgical target.
Looks cool
Bear storm seems like a great way to play storm.
Oh yes. yes please
I'm beginning to see a motif in these thumbnails. It is a good motif.
This is the only modern deck you have ever done that I want to see lol. At least stream it for stream day if it doesn’t win videos
definitely more interesting than normal storm
I’m lovin it
I'm surprised the backup win condition is mayor and not the traditional bushwhacker.
I love it.
Play this PLEASE
We need this in against the odds or much a brew
All this spice! It burns!
I would kill to see this :D
Just yes play it
