When i watched this video i had never even drawn a line in this software as it looked overwhelming to master, but your video is so easy to follow that you have eased me into this program perfectly thank you so much for your time and effort to making these tutorials available. excellent job thanks, best wishes George👍👍
George, thank you very much for your kind words! I'm very pleased and proud to hear that this tutorial helped you getting started quickly. This was exactly my intention when I was planning and recording the video. Thanks for watching! Have a great and creative week. Best, Ben
@@3DGladiator While I have seen a tutorial that is easier to follow, it is because it was a far simpler design being worked on. What i love about this one is it is easy to follow and covers lots of important elements that are going to transfer to many different projects, where the other one only got you the very basics. Excellent work very well explained, thank you for taking the time to make such a great tutorial.
By far the most informative and understandable video I have watched on Fusion 360. Thank you so much for NOT talking and moving as fast as theaters I have watched. I am just now, at my advanced age, trying to understand CAD. you have helped me realize that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I've been trying to learn Fusion 360 for like 2 years now and the learning curve seemed to be very steep. Today I started watching this video and I must say this makes a lot more sense than any tutorial I've seen so far. Thank you so much for the super simple explanations. I will finish this and try a design first. Then I might post new comments but so far I like this a lot.
@12:10 I discovered it matters which edge you choose. Only two of them will result in the (near) vertical purple line being at the outside edge of the 1st sketch where you want it. Other edges will show the vertical purple line midway inside or at the origin.
Thank you! 100% new to this. I had re-watched this section many times trying to figure it out. **edit** never figured it out and had to abandon the project for a different tutorial.
Oh my goodness, thank God i found your tutorial, i am only 7 minutes in but you are the easiest and most comprehensive teacher on this that i found on youtube! thank you for making it easy to understand for absolute dummies at 3D like me :)
I had gone thru 100's of tutorials last year when I was checking out and learning Fusion 360. I had a pretty good handle on it and then stopped using it for about 9 months and forgot a lot of what I learned. This is by far the best all around video to either begin using the program or refresh yourself in the function of the this powerful program. Excellent job of the content, sound and video quality.
Mr. Gladiator. Your knowledge and skill with Fusion 360 is astounding! I purchased my first 3D printer 2 weeks ago with the hope of learning to print items for my model railroad. I am a long-time SketchUp user (20+ years), but I quickly discovered it would not be adequately powerful enough to create the models I needed, at least without some major hoop-jumping. I went searching and found Fusion 360. I am a total beginner, and the learning curve looks like Mt. Everest. Your video has given me hope that one day I might actually be able to accomplish something. I learned many valuable work-flow concepts. Fusion 360 is an amazing program; it seems there are no limits. When I was learning to play guitar I sat in front of my old record player, lifted the needle, sat it back down on the outer edge of the disk as many times as I need untilI learned to play the song. Guess I'll be doing that with your video. Thanks for posting and sharing your knowledge.
I have been using fustion for some time and watched hundreds of "how to: videos, this one blows them all away. Clear concise instructions and showing all the little tools, amazing.
Thank you so much for being a true beginner tutorial. I've only watched 5 mins and you've already coved more information that most of the other tutorial i've been finding. There's to many people who teach with the "follow me exactly step by step" is the same thing as learning a program.
I followed this all the way to the handle component, only to find the URL dead. If you have the image, please make it available so I can finish this project. As an FYI, following your tutorial has taken me many hours and has been very enjoyable. I have never used Fusion 360 before, and following along with you has given me the skills to make my own simple projects with the skills I have learnt. Thanks so much for your contribution to the creative and educational communities.
Thanks for watching! This is exactly why I was recording this tutorial. And thanks for the hint about the broken link. It looks like they no longer have this specific model in store. Found a decent image on another website and updated the link: maherspurecoffee.ie/cdn/shop/products/LINEA-RAINBOW-FUCSIA_01_3_2_1800x1800.png?v=1603367274
Ordered my CNC and whilst waiting on delivery I decided to start learning Fusion 360. I pretty much gave up after the first 2 videos. Now , not so much. Seriously looking forward to doing some more. Probably this one again first though. Don''t think I have ever stopped, skipped back and rewatched a video so much before. Took me 3 Hours Total :) well worth it though. Subscribed and off to look at your library. Thanks
Thanks for watching and your comment Darren. I know, no time to rest in this one 😅 For a more in-depth explanation I recommend watching the first few videos of my "Saurer RK-7" series where I explain a few concepts in detail. I'm not going to upload any more Fusion stuff in the future though, as I felt in love with everything Crypto related. Just to let you know. Best, Ben
I've been using Freecad to learn on, and have been frustrated by it simply not working. I have wanted to learn 3d modelling for so long but have been hampered by rubbish software, and the limited options for the Mac.. All of the Freecad pain is now turning to joy now I can apply what I've learned to a software that works, Fusion 360. What a fantastic program, simple, easy, not glitchy, it does what I expect it to. Really enjoying learning it now, it's so fun. Thanks for the tutorial, you are a great teacher, I appreciate that you show different ways to do the same thing. All the best! Andrew
CAD is not considered 3D modelling. Fusion is not a 3D modelling software. Fusion is a technical 3D drawing application. Stuff like Blender/Maya are considered 3D modelling, just so you are aware of the terminology :)
This is exactly my experience as well. FreeCAD is so finicky and stubborn even for simple stuff. Compared to FreeCAD Fusion360 seems like it can read my mind sometimes :D
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm just a high school student who has an elective at school where we are required to self-learn tinkercad and fusion 360. Tinkercad was easy enough but when I logged onto fusion, it looked so confusing. I had watched like 3 tutorials before this one and I gotta say this one really helped me get a grip on fusion 360! Again, thanks a lot!
This was amazing. Easy to understand and kick-started my journey. Just 1 hour into the video and I was already making my own parts and 3d printing them!
Thanks for watching and your subscription. I really appreciate it. Please keep in mind that I don't new Fusion videos anymore. It's all Crypto from now on. Best, Ben
Having watched a few Tutorials by other Presenters I have managed to create some simple models, with varying degrees of ease and success, but after watching this one I now feel a lot more confident. You have clarified many of the basic concepts, missing from the other ones. I appreciate how you explain where and why you use specific functions and commands for their relevant context and situations. This has been a huge breakthrough for me, thank you. However, as an Engineer (Toolmaker turned Cabinetmaker), I struggle with your use of centimetres, with the occasional mm thrown in, as I think in either mm or metres, as do all the machines and other people in these Industries. I appreciate that you are attempting to reach a wide audience and that the Fashion Industry folk and Graphic Designers may be more familiar with Centimetres, although if they are going to be using Fusion 360 for CAM purposes, they will most likely be forced to work in mm or inches anyway. Apart from this tiny point, I feel that this is a very well constructed, (no pun intended) Tutorial introducing many of the various functions and how to use them in a 'real life' and relatable context. Well done and keep up the good work.
Thank you very much for your comment and your kind words! The dimension issues is a very valid point and was already criticized by many viewers. It's just plain wrong to build something like this (or basically anything) using centimeters instead of millimeters. Happy New Year. Best, Ben
Honestly, this tutorial is crazy good. When I first looked at the coffee pot I thought that it was way too complicate as a first project (since I'm quite familiar with it), but you really broke it down into very digestable pieces! Thank you!
Now that I'm nearly finished working through the project for the first time, I can comfortably say you've produced a tutorial with the highest educational density (learning per unit time) I've had the pleasure of following. You've got a new subscriber. One issue I'm running into is associating the constraint icons to their associated objects. Is there a way to list all of the constraints (and other objects) in a sketch and their properties?
I've been using Fusion 360 on and off for a few years, but really never got into using the "form" tool, This video gave a good explanation on how to use it, so thanks.
Thank you very much for your comment, your kind words and your support. This really means a lot to me! I'm very happy to hear that you appreciate my work. It took quite some time to put this together. Long-form content like this is not so common on TH-cam, but I still think it helps people who want to get started the most. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm always happy to help. Have a great and creative week. Best, Ben
Just completed this tutorial and my project turned out great. Thank you so much for walking me through this. I did run into one slight problem toward the end when making the lid joint. I can select the center of the pin, but cannot select the center of the hole in the hinge. I ended up selecting the face of one of the outside holes and then just offset the whole thing until it was centered.
Markus, I have to say THANK YOU! You are the first one supporting me with a "Super Thanks" on this channel. The first one will always be remembered. Best, Ben
You real world examples are spot on thank you. Will be following you now and see what all you make easier to understand and learn more about Fusion 360.
this is awsome , im an engineering student and im half way thru, i was inspired by some woodworking youtubers to learn about fusion 360 even tho we learn solid works at college ..Im so exxcited about this ..thank you so much. much love from India
Thank you man. I learn a lot of thing from your lesson. I'm just a infantine for Fusion 360 3D software. You teach every single detail in your lesson. Thank you a lotttttttttt. Good luck and happiness for you and for your family.
You're welcome! Thank you very much for your comment, your kind words and your support. That really means a lot to me and keeps me motivated to create more and hopefully useful content for you guys. Hearing that someone was able to make a step forward watching my videos makes my day! Thank you very much. Take care! Best, Ben
thank you for explaining the interface and why something is the way it is. Too many of the tutorials are just do X then do Y. As soon as you try to do something yourself its a struggle. Once you understand what is going on and the thinking behind the interface things get a lot easier.
Great tutorial! I kept putting off learning CAD because of the high cost per year, but the free version of Fushion is more than I will ever need. I’m 70 years old I am already learning CAD at a good pace. It’s a learning curve for sure. You must be considered an expert! I’m curious what you do for a living, and why you stopped making videos?
Haven't touched CAD in years, just got Fusion 360 for a simple part I wanted to have made. This video got me on the way to achieving that goal, thank you!! It was really fun, I'm going to make more stuff now.
I really like this tutorial. It's very quick and thorough. I pause and replay a lot to make sure I understand before moving on. It is quick, but I love that it doesn't waste time between each point. The only suggestion I have is to include chapters in this video to make it easier to stop and come back to a different part at a later time.
This video is awesome! I purchased my first 3D printer. I had an idea and wanted to work on inventing it. But, to work out the design it would be cheaper just to get my own 3D printer. Then came the CAD part. I really wanted to like FreeCAD. I did my ultimate best with FreeCAD. But, if I had continued I would have no hair left. I would have pulled it out. After trying for a week I gave up. From crashing to bugs. To frustrating. I decided on Fusion360. First video to learn Fusion360 was yours. I'm creating lots of small design now. Loving it. Thanks for the awesome training video!
great video, am learning heaps! I do have an issue with the second chamfer. When I try to add the dimension like you do it tells me the model is over constrained?
Hi Marc! Thanks for watching and your question. Before you add the dimension, make sure the sketch is not already fully defined through constraints. If so, delete some of them so that the lines turn from black to blue. Now you should be able to add dimensions. Fully defined sketches can results from drawing lines on already existing sketch elements (received from projection for example). In this case the lines "snap" to other entities and constrains get automatically applied. Hope this answers your question. Best, Ben
Wow, this software is amazingly powerful. Just bought a 3d Printer CNC machine and realized I have to learn Fusion 360, however, I think it will take some time. your tutorial is a great tool to get me started. Thanks.
I've been having an issue with the projection for the bottom and top chamfer. When I select the edges EXACTLY as you have shown, the purple projection lines aren't placed on the edge going to the center as your projection line is, for some reason (I spent 45 minutes doing it over and over to be sure i wasn't miss clicking and making sure i did the EXACT clicks you did) it gives me a projection line in the middle of the surface instead of the edge, so when i revolve it the very edge is left looking like 8 skinny legs instead of a clean chamfer. They only step i didn't follow from the video was setting a coincident constraint off a corner to the construction line with the vertical constraint. For some reason it does not allow me to do it, I get an error "failed to resolve, please try revising dimension or constraints.
I got stuck here too, but the problem (at least for me) was in not creating the second and third sketches on the correct plane. It's not the same plane as was used in the first sketch.
Thanks man, this is such an excellent starting point that covers a lot of different tools and methods. I've done what you suggested and watched the video right through without touching Fusion myself, so now it's time to get my hands dirty!
Great job on the video. Other 'get started in Fusion 360' videos are kind of dated and the software looks just different enough today to lose me. Yours was really well done. Thanks.
Great idea to show the creation of a product from scratch so that many features are covered. One issue, and I have this with most of these tutorials including from AutoDesk: You show things like creating a rectangle in Sketch mode, but how do you set the dimensions? You go so quickly, cannot see how you do it. And if you want to adjust the dimension later, what do you click on? In regular apps like Shapr3D on the iPad, you just touch the line and an input field opens up. It seems Fusion and other pro CAD apps work in a very different manner. In summary, please go much slower or pause after each operation. :)
Thanks for you comment Alex. If you are new to Fusion, I suggest you watch these short videos first: academy.autodesk.com/software/fusion-360 Things will make more sense afterwards. Best, Ben
Dimensioning is key for CAD'ing. Having studied as an engineer, it always bothers me when I see sketches which are not fully defined. As for your question, (under SKETCH) go to CREATE (dropdown) --> Sketch Dimension. Alternatively, you can just press "D". Everything else should be in the constraints section.
For your first question you press D and click line to add dimention when in sketch mode Second question. After you add a dimension you see the value popup where u set it. U can double click it and change it. For complex designs use Parameters. Can be located in the modify tab i believe. Look a vid specifiacally on that for it to make sense
Great hands-on video with live modeling illustration.....i have used Fusion 360 for some easy modeling, but your video helps me advance further ;) thank you thank you!
I'd learned just a few basics before watching this video, and now I'm confident I can create what I want with Fusion (if I remember everything). You went a little fast for me, but I'm old. :-} I'd totally buy you a coffee if you ever get to the U.S.
Great to hear! Glad I could help. Thanks for watching. I hope to be able to visit the U.S. soon again. I contact you then to get my coffee...😀 Best, Ben
Great tutorial, that really helped a lot! Sometimes a little too fast to rebuild it in parallel but with 0.75 speed it was perfect and I managed to follow till the end. Thank you! Coffee bought ☕
This is great to hear! I feel honored that you followed till the end. And thank you very much for the coffee!!! I really appreciate your support. Have fun creating in Fusion. All the best, Ben
Thanks for watching and your subscription. I just want to point out that I'm not gonna upload any new Fusion videos in the future. It's all crypto from now on. Best, Ben
At 28:19 when you create the plane for the filter, you use Construct->"offset plane" and hard code to 5.2 cm. If the model changes later, say they change the dimensions in various ways, how to tie the plane for the filter sketch so that the filter remains in a meaninful location regardless of funnel basket dimensions?
My attempted solution for creating the plane for the filter. I create a construction point at the center of the circular edge. When I create the offset plane, for Extent=To Object, and I use the point I constructed. I'm hoping this means that as demensions change, this created plane will remain relative to where I want it.
Thanks for your question! The workaround you describe should work perfectly. Generally speaking, it's always a good idea to build parts in a way that they can be easily edited later on - means making elements relate to each other in a logical manner. I haven't done this for the filter because I knew that it does not get adjusted later on. Thanks for watching. Best, Ben
Long video , but Such a good one. I only had issue making the Joint between lid and chamber, where i could select the exact center of Pin between two circles that make the pin, but i couldn't click on the center of hinge to create the joint. It was always snapping to one of the face center. May be some mistake in how i did it.
Great video! Very helpful. One thing that kept throwing me off though was you would say to enter a specific parameter (like a dimension or an angle of a fillet) but what you said versus what you entered is different. That happened multiple times and at first I got frustrated because I couldn't figure out why mine wouldn't work. Once I realized the issue, I just made sure to not just listen but also watch exactly what you do.
Thanks for your comment Greg. Yes, I made this error more than once in this tutorial. I'm sorry for that. I promise to focus on this more in the next one. Best, Ben
Wow! Awesome. It really helped me. I was trying to build something else, but because you chose an object that is not just a simple shape, the video covers everything. Thank you so much.
Loving the video so far, by far the most comprehensive. A little fast but that's what pause buttons were made for. Only one small issue. Where do I get the image for the TSpline section?
Thanks for watching and your comment Michael. A reference image of the handle can be found here: www.bialetti.com/it_en/coffee-makers/moka/rainbow-559.html?variant=1 Best, Ben
Nice video; Good instruction, good pace. Suggestion / tip: 27:25 When you 'shell' the 'basket' select BOTH the top and bottom surfaces. This will give you a perfect shell, with holes where you'd expect them. AFTER this shell-command doe the fillet. The same applies to 1:30:50 when you open the inner tube / nozzle.
Thanks for your great video, I follow this video step by step, but i cannot find the handle image. Does any one knows where i can download? many thanks.
Thanks for your comment. A PNG file is available here: www.bialetti.com/media/catalog/product/cache/0/zoom-image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/L/I/LINEA-RAINBOW-VERDE_01_3_1.png
Hell yeah brother! This is a great tutorial. I haven't messed with 3d software in almost 20 years and I can't wait to dig deeper after work today. I like that you just jump in and start making something that looks complicated. I can't believe how powerful this software is.
The image that I'm using to trace the handle can be found on the Bialetti website: www.bialetti.com/it_en/coffee-makers/moka/rainbow-561.html?variant=3 (it looks like they have updated the page and removed some of the product images that were previously available...) For the logo, I have just searched "Bialetti Logo" on Google and converted a high-res image into a PNG file with transparent background in Photoshop.
well i got the bottom made, thanks for the help. Ill be doing the top hopefully tonight. Im having a plane problem, I think, on the project I need to get done, When I sketch a circle on the face and extrude it it goes sideways not down. What am I doing wrong.
Great! You're welcome! This sounds like a plane issue indeed. If not otherwise defined, a sketch gets always extruded perpendicular to its plane. Regarding your request, I feel honored, but I have to say no. I'm fully booked and cannot accept any new jobs right now. Thanks for watching!
First I'd like to say thank you for taking the time to do this tutorial. It's been very informative and I've enjoyed the process so far in it being my first use of Fusion 360. I'd also like to see if you could help with a part I've been stuck on for a while now. I wish I could send a video of what I'm doing but I'll try explaining as best as possible. In working on the lid, I made the initial circle the same size as the outer rim of the collection chamber and followed directions to adjust the shape and make the proper trims around the 1:10:00 mark. When I try to extrude the lid, only the part inside of the rim is able to be extruded. It's as if the original circle I made for the lid caused the rim of the chamber to be cut off. Thanks for any insight.
If i can just share a screenshot on how I precisely copied the Burner, Basket and chamber here, I 'll do so hahaha Because of your tutorial I am now confident to start 3D modeling and 3D printing.. I just recently bought a Vyper and now searching here to improve my designs. Thank you so much! Jason (Philippines)

@@3DGladiator It's okay! We have investments in that space too so I'm sure I'll learn a lot from you! My new saying is: Forget Gold...I'm a Coin Digger! Bahahhhaa!
Question? I have difficulties with "Project" command. When making Mocha Pot filter screen onto Offset Plane using "Project", does the offset plane need to be at the exact "Z" height as the "Z" height of the fillet circle inside the filter basket? I use "Project", but nothing stays on the offset plane.
Thanks for your question Robert. No, the plane does not have to be on the exact Z position as the entity you are projecting from. Before you run the project command, select the offset plane, hit L on the keyboard to enter sketch mode and then press P to run the project command. This way you make sure that you draw/project on the new plane. Let me know if this works. Best, Ben
I cannot loft the lid. It says: "Cannot create tool body for loft." I have only two profiles selected, the rim around the bottom part and the circle on the offset plane above. I've watched you do it dozens of times replicating everything I see you do. I can't get it to work. Any ideas?
Glad to hear. No, I don't. I felt in love with everything Crypto related this year. I'm not gonna upload any new Fusion videos in the future. I hope you understand. Best, Ben
I've been using Fusion for a few years to design robotic manipulators and chassis for the FIRST Robotics Competition, so I was a bit concerned when I was assigned a "beginner tutorial" in my engineering class. However, this tutorial still had some very useful things that I hadn't learned yet. (I hadn't even heard of variable fillets before this tutorial!) Great tutorial, and definitely worth watching even if you already have some experience with the program.
Thanks for watching and your comment Brian. The tutorial was recommended in your engineering class? This is cool! I feel honored and I'm glad it was helpful. 🤩 Have a great weekend. Best, Ben
Hi 3D Gladiator. I am finding your tutorial to be one, if not the best, for a Fusion 360 newbie like me. The thing is, i have an issue i can not solve, that is when i try to make the lid of the coffe pot. When you use a 3 point arc about 1:10:19, i can not find the point where the new circle and the old meet, so when i use the trim tool i dont get the same result as you.
Wow what a great Tutorial. It is challenging and fun. It is equivalent to about 20 of the Fusion360 Tutorials all in one. Sure you will be have to look back a couple (or maybe 30) times and understand the concept but at the end all is clear and one gets a sense of the logic behind the software. Thank you very much.
I have to say this has been the most useful tutorial i have found to date, i really learned a lot and have been using fusion for a while now as a hobby! thank you!
Hi great tutorial! I was just wondering why when i select one of my components in the side bar, all of the other unselected components go transparent on the 3d model because that doesnt seem to be happening in your video? Thanks very much!
Hello, enjoying the video but I have a problem when doing the top chamfer. When selecting the projection tool, are you selecting the edge line and the top line? Mine seem the make these lines purple and not the internal shape to draw the chamfer on. Or sometimes it projects it on the outside.....Thanks.
Thanks for your question Anthony. I'm glad you like it. Can you point out the minute in the video where you get stuck so that we talk about the same thing?
@@antgooseberry4541 The projection tool takes any edge or surface and projects it onto the currently active sketch plane. The short purple line at 14:59 appear because I click on one of the edges of the polygon. Instead of just an edge, you could also select the entire top surface. This would result in a projected line that goes all the way through from left to right. When you then connect both projected lines with another straight line, you end up with a closed profile that I use for the revolve cut in the next step. So, generally speaking, you can project points, edges or faces do any sketch plane. It doesn't matter where these elements are located in 3d space. They can be in front or behind the currently active sketch plane. Let me know if this makes any sense.

I have been using fustion for some time and watched hundreds of "how to: videos, this one blows them all away. Clear concise instructions and showing all the little tools, amazing.
Great to hear!
Thanks!
Wow! Thank you very much for the SUPER THANKS and you support!! This means a lot to me and I'm very glad the tutorial was helpful. Best, Ben
U are a legend. I have been using Fusion360 for 3 years and this is the most comprehensive and concise tutorial video I have seen.
I'm glad it was helpful. Thank you very much for watching and your comment. Have a great weekend!
Yoooo same here
Ordered my CNC and whilst waiting on delivery I decided to start learning Fusion 360.
I've finished the entire course, and even as a beginner, I learned a lot from it. Thank you so much!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching and your comment. Best, Ben
Excellent, this sounds great. Thanks for watching. Best, Ben
This was amazing. Easy to understand and kick-started my journey. Just 1 hour into the video and I was already making my own parts and 3d printing them!
Wonderful! That's what I like to hear. Thanks for watching. Best, Ben
This is the best instructional video I have ever watched. For anything! Ever!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching and your comment. Best, Ben
Excellent tutorial! I appreciate you incorporating so many different tools into one video.
Glad you enjoyed it Richard! Thank you very much for watching and your kind words. Best, Ben
easily the best beginner fusion 360 tutorial on the internet, you earned a sub.
Thanks for watching and your subscription. I really appreciate it. Please keep in mind that I don't new Fusion videos anymore. It's all Crypto from now on. Best, Ben
I was stuck for way too long on the part when you extruded the threaded section of the base. I kept hearing you say "point five" CM but it was 1.5
Having watched a few Tutorials by other Presenters I have managed to create some simple models, with varying degrees of ease and success, but after watching this one I now feel a lot more confident.
Thank you!
Great to hear and thanks for watching. Best, Ben
Try to click + hold on a line or a sketch point. This brings up a small menu where you can select the sketch entities and constraints.
@@3DGladiator Thanks, I didn't know that worked for constraints. But is there no way to list all constraints (or other objects) in a sketch?
I've been using Fusion 360 on and off for a few years, but really never got into using the "form" tool,
This video gave a good explanation on how to use it, so thanks.
I'm excited about this crash course, everything summarized in a compact way, your work was worth it.
Thank you for this wonderful contribution.
Best, Ben
First time on a Fusion 360. And your video tutorial was a big help for me to start on. Big Thanks.
Glad I could help!
Danke!
Markus, I have to say THANK YOU! You are the first one supporting me with a "Super Thanks" on this channel. The first one will always be remembered. Best, Ben

Great! Thanks for watching. Did you finish it?
@@3DGladiator Not yet, messed up the sketch for the lid somehow and got annoyed :D
thank you for explaining the interface and why something is the way it is. Too many of the tutorials are just do X then do Y. As soon as you try to do something yourself its a struggle. Once you understand what is going on and the thinking behind the interface things get a lot easier.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and your comment. Best, Ben
Great to hear!
Best, Ben
This is one of the most satisfying modelling experiences I've had! Fusion 360 is so cool. Thanks very much for this straightforward tutorial.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! Best, Ben
Wow, this software is amazingly powerful. Just bought a 3d Printer CNC machine and realized I have to learn Fusion 360, however, I think it will take some time. your tutorial is a great tool to get me started. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. Yes, it takes some time, but once you have a good understanding of the basics, building in Fusion is pure fun. Best, Ben
I like how you use almost every basic tool you need to build the vast majority of objects, and even simple assemblies. Well done here.
Thanks for watching and your comment! Best, Ben
I am also having the same issue, been spending the better part of a day trying to figure it out. is it a nate thing?
@@natecoombes1296 Lol, apparently! Thanks for the laugh :)
I got stuck here too, but the problem (at least for me) was in not creating the second and third sketches on the correct plane. It's not the same plane as was used in the first sketch.
Thank you ! I just finished the tutorial.
Great job! Thanks for watching. Best, Ben

Great job on the video. Other 'get started in Fusion 360' videos are kind of dated and the software looks just different enough today to lose me. Yours was really well done. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful Kurt! Thanks for watching and your comment. Cheers, Ben
If you are new to Fusion, I suggest you watch these short videos first:
academy.autodesk.com/software/fusion-360
Things will make more sense afterwards.

For your first question you press D and click line to add dimention when in sketch mode
Second question.

Thanks for watching and your comment. I'm impressed that you made it through the whole thing! Congratulations! Happy New Year! Best, Ben
Best, Ben

If i can just share a screenshot on how I precisely copied the Burner, Basket and chamber here, I 'll do so hahaha
Because of your tutorial I am now confident to start 3D modeling and 3D printing.. I just recently bought a Vyper and now searching here to improve my designs.

Best, Ben

14:59 whilst selecting the second line. Your selection projection a small line towards the centre of the polygon, mine selects the edge. Thank you
@@antgooseberry4541 The projection tool takes any edge or surface and projects it onto the currently active sketch plane.
