Once the Tokugawa shogunate went into full swing, this system was doubled down, where lords had to live in Edo close to the shogun for an extended period of time, both to intimidate them, but also to keep their access to information from their local region limited.
Canonically, there was a time when they would give each other weapons if there's a shortage before they would do battle with 1 another. A testament to true Bushido and Honor of the Samurai Era.

They produce historical, accurate and very beautiful battle recreations and historical topics. Takeda Shengin and Uesugi Kenshin's rivalry is real and hard but bound by honor and courtesy.

Hell yeah. Uesugi was always my favorite clan in Shogun 2. Their Sohei are a hell of a drug.
