Birding in Peru part 1: around Lima

- The first part of our Peru birding trip, where we explore the area around Lima. The first day we explored a few sites before our flight to Cuzco and the last day we went on a boat trip in Pucusana Harbour before our flight home. When visiting Peru for a birding trip it is definitely worth spending some time around Lima, rather than just transiting as many visitors do.
With the help of our guide Satu from Amazon Birding www.amazonbird... we saw 533 species in 2 weeks, including many endemics and near-endemics. We can't always get photos of every species - our style is "birders with a camera" rather than dedicated photographers. We try to show our favourite photos - sometimes a good photo of a common bird, sometimes a good bird even if the photo isn't so great.

Hi, could you please share which Pucusana bird watching boat tour you booked?
It wasn't a birding tour as such, just a fisherman with a side gig. There were several small boats waiting for customers. Our guide Satu arranged it all so I'm not sure if he booked ahead or just turned up.
@@spottybeetles1040 I see. Thank you for the info!
wow that rush tyrant , is that hail from the tit family ?
It behaves like our Bearded Tit, but it's actually in the Tyrant Flycatcher family, and yes it is stunning!
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
