I want to see and hear more from you! You just have a way about you that is so helpful. You're an amazing lady, and I look forward to seeing you again in more videos here. Amber struck gold when you two connected, and I know you feel the same. Great job! ❤️❤️

Amazing thought. We rebuild our world around the addiction. Denial during my raising children years----now bf is addicted to alcohol so it's another world. I don't want to live in denial. My recovery and this new world is ugly, but I'm doing the best in this space. Recovery and hope is not gone. Thank you for all you do!

I have moved out of our bedroom, his denial is REAL. I am following the your guidelines. I am going forward, but when will he wake up?

Seratonin = Pride. Oxytocin = Connection. Thank you for pointing this out!

Id like to know about addiction transference from Alcohol to weed… is alcohol still the worst addiction for someone to have?

How do you help a loved one in treatment to understand that their addiction has negatively affected the relationship and expects the relationship to be OK again now that their sober and tries to manipulate you if they don't get what they want from the relationship

Sounds like they didn’t pay attention to AA steps 8-10?
      or
have too many difficult traits or character disordered.
      This would not be helpful

Hi, I am new to Amber's videos. I have lived with my AH's alcohol abuse for many years. I am the furthest person from denial. I have looked for help everywhere. He's been hospitalized so many times for alcohol related acute illnesses and I make sure the doctors and medical team know he is an active alcoholic. He is never sober anymore. Over the last 2 months he has gone from functioning, he worked full time..never drank at work but he is now not working. Using the medical issues as his excuse. To drink constantly. I love him, I want him to choose to get better but I am loosing myself. I am actually trying to set boundaries for myself...to late maybe and to be kind...again maybe too late. Really don't know what I am asking. Just so tired and I don't know how to give him space to figure this out. I think my only option is to leave.

One thing that helps, if only a bit, is putting yourself first and taking care of your needs. I've started exercising a lot more and am pursuing Hobbies again that I enjoy. When I see that she's drinking I simply say I'm going out to do something or if it's during the week that I'm going to bed early. It's frustrating because in a relationship you're supposed to be spending those times together, at least some of those times together! Stay strong and take care of yourself first, and I hope things change for the better for you. Leaving has crossed my mind but with children it's going to have to wait.

My AH goes to my adult daughter's house all the time to help her with projects. I also like going to help. My AH gets really drunk every time. I have set a boundary for myself that I don't like to be around him when he is drinking. Hiw do I continue to enjoy helping my daughter at the same time being around husband who gets really intoxicated?

I completely agree on the naltrexone/vivitrol... altho...with my son it wore off in 3 weeks not 28 days.. so he would binge & when his binge was over (3days to 1-2 weeks) he'd take the shot .. but same cyvce...
