I know it is listed here somewhere, but I have someone here from BC . We are headed to cobourg today. Where is the best spot to see. Is fiahing on until the 30th or has that changed?
I live in New York and I hope ALL dams will be removed from the rivers!! The world famous Salmon River used to boast a lot of Atlantic Salmon. Now there is none! When the bastards built the dams, there was not a single consideration for what swims in the river!
@@chriskumar4201 really eh? Wasn't much on camera going through the ladder. I'll be there Friday/Saturday. Sure hoping there's fish in the river.. I don't fish the lower steps. So hopefully they're moving a bit. Would love to see a brown trout too. Heard a few still around in the lower river.
@@garfieldmclean25 the ones i saw yesterday were most likely the ones that started in video from saturday/sunday. Rains moved them in sooner as with some other years.
@@MoeThefuss really? thats great. Not many stores have roe yet. They will most likely move more the next few days. The bunch that came in on the weekend will be spreading up the river.
Mnr survey/vote to possibly shut down the river for the heart of the salmon run and some other great changes , go vote now or forever hold you're peace
They should change it to single, barbless hook only to help prevent the people that snag them. That being said, they're a non native fish that the mnr purposely stock millions of in the lake every year, for recreational fishing. I don't think the river should be shut down but illegal fishing is a problem that many anglers have been talking about for years.
Ya just asking what you guys think I've only caught one and I released it.. I can't imajine they would be healthy for you to eat or would taste normal. I would think you could or would get sick from eating that meat
Can't be... I've been out almost everyday. Yesterday had lots of fish on riverwatcher but I haven't had an opportunity for a hook set in the river yet!
These are all Chinook, but there are also coho, and some Atlantic Salmon, as well as brown and rainbow trout. The Atlantic Salmon are a protected species though.
Beautiful!

Monday there was a small amount moving I bet this was Saturday or Sunday
Bit early but with all rain we have had no surprise at all.
I like the taste better when they come in tin can
Are these Chinooks or Atlantics? I moved away from Southern Ontario 8 years ago, but I thought they had stopped stocking Chinooks?
