Great video! I didn't even know this series existed until watching your streams! So the sprites looking Mega Man-esque in Snow Bros. Jr is just a coincidence? Anyway, definitely want to check out Wonderland now.
One of those games i loved in the arcades and when I was into emulating games was overjoyed to find it had a MD port. I love the soundtrack of some of the levels of the first game. some great jams!
I've never even heard of Wonderland, I'm shocked it only just came out. Though I do find it a bit funny how it follows the 80s game sequel mindset of "overhaul EVERYTHING about the series, including the perspective".
One little note, on 16:00 just to point out that that's only on the International version. The Asian releases have better profile pictures as draws with psychodelic backgrounds.
Always wanted to play the NES version as a kid but never got to. Got the Switch remake a couple years ago and was surprised how Japanese in flavor this arcade adventure was. I had just assumed it had a winter wonderland vibe from the box art.
Nice timestamps for so many. Seems pretty simple but that works in general. Wish wonderland didn't make teleporting so slow, to stand on a teleporter for a few seconds and press a button to transport.
I had no real attachment to Snow Bros. I played the original for maybe about 6 minutes deemed it a Bubble Bobble clone with unnecessary extra steps and just never thought about it again for some time, but from the jump I saw an announcement trailer for Snow Bros Wonderland and I thought it looked good, like an inventive adaptation of a classic arcade title into a new genre, instantly got hit with vibes of the 3D Bomberman games, the Pac-Man World series including my favorite among those Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness, the 5th and 6th gen Frogger games etc. these kinds of games feel like a lost art to me so even though I had no particular fondness for Snow Bros, Wonderland peaked my interest. They didn't really make a splash about the game so I only found out it released through someone on social media who is a huge Bubble Bobble fan posting about it I bought it instantly and well I expected it to be good but i didn't expect to love it as much as I did, it made me want to give those older entries another shot as I think Wonderland exposed to me how they really work, and in general I'm glad there's some kind of video talking about this game and the series for that matter since it also bolstered my feelings about revisiting the prior entries to Wonderland. I'm just happy someone is giving the game some shine/exposure it really deserves it, great production values, price point, its super clever and creative with its level design and how much it fleshes out simple mechanics, Its weird to say but its like everything i want out of a new Bomberman game except it's Snow Bros. It has a great amount of content yet left me wanting more, not because what's there wasn't satisfactory but because it was so cool that I just didn't want to put it down. Great job on the video, thank you for it.
If my ears are correct, that Snow Bros. Run game stole Sonic 3's lightning shield sound effect. Also this was eye-opening. I was not aware there were that many ports of this game, or that a sequel existed! I only knew about the original arcade version.
I've had a very curious experience with the original game: I saw it for a little bit at the arcade when I was a kid, then I played it for the first time on the emulator RAINE, but the emulation wasn't perfect, so the music was sped up. Here is the funny thing: I got so used to that sped up version of the OST, that when I played the real deal on MAME, it sounded wrong to me and I couldn't fully enjoy it anymore because of that. I know a lot of people will disagree with me, and I totally understand that!, but I swear the music sounds more cartoonish, dynamic, upbeat, etc. when it's sped up.
You cooked with the smooth pun intro
Everything in Japan is just "oh this looks cool, never seen it before" 30 YEAR LONG FRANCHISE
Thanks for letting people know about Snow Brothers 3.
doing my best to make the internet a better place LOL
@@BurstError You're doing a terrific job with that!
Come back Toto: I guess I have no attention from fans. :(
That Genesis port looks fantastic, and I'm always happy to see ambitious new entries in franchises like this.
Oh man, this gem of the arcade i remember playin this game back in 96 / 97 when i was a kid. so many fun memories at the arcades
New to the channel, what a lovely retrospective, I didnt know anyone else had such fond memories of Snow Bros.
14:37 Blessed Boshi sighting after that cursed intro screen.
Great video! I didn't even know this series existed until watching your streams!

yep, it's the same series!
@BurstError thanks for the update of the new versions. I didn't know!
Great video as always!
I only played the first game, arcade version, and I liked it.
I love these Bubble Bobble / single screen platformers.

This series makes me remember about the Snowy The Bear's Adventures.
Now this is (niche) content!!

I got introduced to snow bros with snow bros classic

Nice. I liked Snow Bros in the arcade. For some reason I have never tried the Mega Drive version. Time to fire up the flash cart!
I had no idea there were so many Snow Bros. games! As a Data East connoisseur, how do you think the "Tumblepop" stacks up?
I need to dig into Tumblepop more, but seems cool! And loaded wtih Karnov cameos :)
I still think Snow Bros 2 is their peak game of series.

Move over Mario Bros. The Snow Bros are here!
Why was that one lizard demon so thicc tho
We have Mario bros that were on mushrooms. Now snow bros that are on booger sugar.
I literally thought you were joking and there was only one.
19:53 I wish the game let you skip the intro faster than it does. And it plays every time you start a game! Also it’s very underwhelming
Finally this franchise needs recignation
I never understood why their faces looked so screwed up, even if they were supposed to be snowmen.
2024!¿
