  • Here's a quick update on the truck build. Exhaust came together beautifully. Have to clamp the mufflers tight before I weld them, then I can drop the pipes and weld it all out.
Rad support will be further reinforced on either side.
Cab can go back on for the 5th window to go in.

Looking good! The headers are now different length if you changed the end to make them even. This is because the offset of the heads based on even and odd cylinders, one side is always set back, so with equal length headers, one will appear a touch longer.

But it's opposite of what you're saying. The drivers side header is sticking back further and that's the head that's further forward on the block. They're very close, so I think it's a jig defect from the fabrication shop. Also because they aren't exactly as the drawing spec I was given for the part number.
Appreciate the help though! Thanks for watching👍

Thanks man! Maybe I'll pay a dimensions/plan video for the chassis of the truck?

@JP yes that would be good. I'd more so like to see how you did your steering shaft from firewall to rack, and missing the header tubes and engine mount along the way. I believe for mine I need to run the shaft underneath my engine mount, and then I probably need two more u-joints to clear my header tubes. I don't know , I'm not that far along yet.

@@robertkrupa2552 what your describing is how it's usually done from what I've seen. I didn't want that so I modified the front cross member to sit 1" higher in the frame. I then sourced out these ultimate Headers due to their tight fit. In the end it worked out perfectly

Thank you so much man, that's why I'm doing them when I've got the time.
I learn from TH-cam, so I may as well help also.

@@badomanclassics I do ! . It’s this channel im on right now . I have 6 smaller episodes so far . First 2 are about design and concepts and tear down my existing truck the last 4 I get into the build . Mocking it all up first then taking it apart for paint and powder . About to start the raised bed with Dakota digital 10” linear actuators but really wanted to see how you go about it . Not too many videos on the fabrication portion of raised bed . I have an idea of what I’m gonna do but always nice to see how others tackle it . I love how your level of perfection high 🙌🏻. Are you from Canada ?

Love returning to your videos, so many cool ideas for my build ,what year rear bumper did use and also what header are you using?

Thanks man! Those are ultimate headers, part number is in another previous video I Believe. The bumper is a '55 truck rear bumper, flipped upside down.

Did you fabricate the notch in the back bumper for the exhaust! That looks amazing with the exhaust tips tucked in there. I’m a general contractor, but have a 53 I am playing around with in the garage. Your videos are super inspirational for a total rookie like me. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I'm in the same boat, all my experience is with this truck.
This bumper is actually a 54.5 Chevy truck rear bumper flipped upside down for the exhaust.
I appreciate you subscribing, I'll try to keep the videos coming
