I so remember those days. Was almost like every third day I was up in the middle of the night building. You're going to do well!!
I have no idea what this is for but I completely understand you and your point. Anyways I'm going to subscribe Thank you
Angles, 😅 inchs/fractions, clearances, moving and openings/access. Impressive!! Build stuff!! It wasn't that long ago before the cash for clunkers stupidity that people were allowed to be efficient. Now we have fun with high efficiency, lol. Wages do not keep up with costs. Gotta love the machine tools nowadays!!
Haha, all these high dollar Barret Jackson builds have us country bumpkins using AutoCAD and CNCs. Gotta pay the bills some how brother lol
Fawk da sayerz, thats legit some top thought engineering
Nice work.
Thank you so much!
Who is obvious in your first video? People are just dumb, and it's really just a super beefy version of several types of cabinet hinges.
SICK! do you sell these?
Hell yeah😎 www.badomanclassics.com spelled with an A
Awesome video. What size is your shifter? Trying to decide the height for my 49 surburban.
th-cam.com/video/B9DLVgcSPsw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eIT1W-rHc_vf4oGZ
This one is a perfect height when mounted close to the floor
They look incredible. Awesome work.
Thanks Buddy!
No filler rod would be better aka fusion welding
I tried, it's challenging with two different thickness of material, but I'm an amateur, so I'm sure it's doable
This is art! Anyone leaving negative comments are pissed they couldn’t dream of doing this. Tune it out, you have real talent👌
nice job the different thickness stainless is a cool touch
Thank you, yeah I like how it turned out
Watching the video now, but I’m sure this will answer the questions I left in your short video. Love your content, keep uploading quality projects like this and the hinges you made and the subscribers will come in no time! I’m located just over the boarder in the Niagara Falls/ buffalo area if you ever need some machining work done I’ve got manual and cnc turning and milling.
Appreciate that! I'll keep the quality up and keep my eyes peeled if I need anything turned! Thank you so much for the support!

Are the thru holes made so you can “spot weld” the letters from the inside of the cover? What gauge metal are the letters made from? What a great custom touch!
Yeah you bet, I spot weld them through the holes yes. The letters or script are either 1/8 or 3/16
The “whoo whoo whoo whoo whoooo” of satisfaction was enough for me to subscribe. All kidding aside, great design and quality craftsmanship!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the support
Nice work 👍🏻‼️
Thanks!
If it's 100° degrees, then they are right, it's not 90°.
Hahaha, fair point. We both know the trolls weren't getting at that though
Hey brotha you can set up a temp paint booth in there is plenty of room. you just need a roll of plastic (thick enough it wont blow around, dont know the mil on it) a couple box fans and a couple furnace filters the size of the box fans, and some tape that actually sticks and you can make a paint booth thats vented and filtered so no particals in the air. After you hang and seal the plastic even the floor, you lightly spray everything down with water and the fan will suck most of it out. And u have to filter both intake and exhaust fans amd you should have a clean area to paint. and spray paint works just fine, you just need to buy a good tip with a handle if not ur finger is goin to really be hurting after. Ive even seen paints booths made from those portable tent/awnings thingy. just needs to be longer than vehicle ur painting, at least 3ft longer/wider on each side. they are actually easier cause u got a frame to attach plastic and pull it tight and install fans high on each end same side. it pulls the bullshit right out. google it, im sure u could find instructions. if I knew where the diagram was I drew for the few Ive built, hell i'd send it to ya if I could.
Thanks Buddy! I built a paint booth with my dad way back in the day as a kid. We did exactly what you're explaining. I appreciate the write up dude! Stay tuned and hopefully I'll be painting the truck one day soon. Just need more subscribers so I can afford it lol
@badomanclassics Its definately coming along. I miss the good ole days, out in the garage late, swapping out engines and bustin knuckles! Appreciate you letting us live vicariously through you man. LMAO! looking forward to you postin a fat ass burnout when its all said and done!!
Haha these whitewalls are pricey, maybe I'll start a burnout go fund me so I can afford to do just that
Well they were right lmao
Haha, we both know what they were getting at lol
Love it bro
👊
Some mad engineering, is it for a bed cover?
It's for a tilting wood bed to access my fuel tank, differential and battery
@badomanclassics it's the first clip I've seen from your channel, but that reply alone has piqued my interest and earned a sub.
@@DubworxMedia thank you kindly! I appreciate the support
It's not mad engineering. It's just engineering. You can get it in school or in a book. Use linear algebra or computer solvers for inverse kinematics after you have selected the appropriate mechanism.
Alright Einstein lol
Did you fabricate the hinge?
Yeah you bet. Badomanclassics.com
@badomanclassics sick! Thanks for the link.

Very nice. Gonna have to get a set for my 53

Cool
Thank you!
Thats fantastic, love seeing people getting excited about genuinly good creations.
Thank you so much, I'm excited that I was able to build exactly what I needed
Patent it. Before someone else does.
It's not a novel design. Just very difficult to duplicate. Easier for me to sell and provide already assembled or scaled to spec
Well done engineering? 👍👍👍
Thank you!
People don't have a clue !! Goof job brother
Thanks Buddy
LSFab Steering Wheel
Sparc Industries actually, this is one of their first. LS Fab does sell these though
smooth too brotha NICE!!!
That corner action where it looks like it's frozen in motion is so satisfying lol
I like that the back corner pretty much just rotates in place. Very cool. How much time do you have into this project? From the time you first thought about it to this video.
Initial desire, research, first attempt, test/learn, continue learning, design, draft, render and assembly, probably a good 3 weeks full time
@ wow so your definitely a skilled fabricator then. I was thinking many months. Right on bro
Thank you! I appreciate that
Nois
Sweet job bro.........
Thanks Buddy!
Patent that quick!!
In the process right now 😎
I think you could do it in plastic and sell it as a fidget toy.
Hahaha, that's hilarious, didn't even consider that! I'm make sure to include this suggestion in my patent application.
Great video! I have a 53 in a million pieces that I am going to start on this summer. Thanks for all of the detailed info! Truck looks awesome
You're welcome! Hopefully it'll be further along by then as well. Feel free to email with any questions.
First thanx for taking the time to make these videos. I always pickup something I may not have known. As far as primer, spraying primer always makes a mess. 6 yrs ago I started to roll the primer on with a cheap 4 in foam roller. Mix the primer as usual but no overspray. Let it dry well for a day or so then sand. Have had not problems with finished paint lifting. Thanx again.
I've been hearing about this method a lot and I think I may go that route with the truck, hesitant so I may reach out to Eastwood for some sort of guarantee lol
Nice rides! Would you be interested into selling the car?
Thanks. Yeah you bet. You can email me. badomanclassics@gmail.com
Do you have a video of the a/c controller modifications you made for the 3100 ?
I'll make one! That's a good idea. I have posts on my Instagram and I have video footage of the modifications, just haven't put it together for TH-cam. Subscribe and stay tuned, I'll edit one up👍

@@badomanclassics I got you locked looking forward to your progress the truck is looking great
Your work looks excellent however, on the valvecovers could you do orginal looking script from the late 50's ? The bold looks good if your trying to copy the tailgate script.
Yeah, I've since done a couple other designs and I've found the limitations of script sizing and the pros and cons of each script font. If you've got an idea you'd like me to work with I'd love to build something for you. The custom valve covers are one of my favorite projects.
Sir, you are very articulate and extremely intelligent with a great attitude. Good luck with your terrific designs!
Well that might be the kindest comment on TH-cam, thanks! Thank you for watching and I appreciate the support.

Appreciate that man, I'm having fun learning too!
Let me know when the new hinge design is available. I’m in Central USA, would be interested in hinges, bed frame and bed sides if that becomes an option
Sounds good. Send me an email if you don't mind. badomanclassics@gmail.com The hinges will be priced and available shortly. I'll start working on the bed sides and the framing is already finished as I've got it in my truck. Thanks, JP

Thanks brother. This was the first Gen hinge. Designed the old school way of trial and error. The upcoming Gen 2 hinge I utilized AutoCAD and researched hinge dynamics
Excellent engineering Mr. Ill be building one next week thank you much
No worries sir. I've had lots of requests to offer the design, my hands have been full with other projects, but I do plan to get one done soon.
Hey this looks super interesting and I would love to see how it all shakes out for you! Good luck bud!
Thanks man! I appreciate the positivity. I'll do my best. Having fun so far, so it's looking good.
Just discovered your channel, it’s great! I’m over in kelowna and building the exact type of projects you have. Currently doing a 49 surburban. Done a few of the 5 windows, love those trucks . Been thinking about doing you tube too. lol. Definitely have a new subscriber out of me 🎉
Thank you kindly! It's a great hobby and the TH-cam thing is fun too once you start getting a hang of it. If you have any questions or need help with videos feel free to send an email, I'll do what I can. I love any late forties/fifties vehicle, so much class.
