    Cushy seat/post. For 1420. I take off the first digit. And I’m cruzin

    By far, the most informative Lectric video I've seen (and I've watched many). I do wish there was time devoted to the differing pedal heights between the XP and Step Thru. It looks like there would be occasional toe drag with the Step Thru, but limited leg extension with the XP.

    Really appreciate the video! I'm going to order the 3.0 and pray Lectric doesn't release a XPremium 2.0 which rear rack supports 150 lbs soon.... or I do!

      Glad that you enjoyed it, thank you! I wouldn't expect a new XPremium anytime soon but that's just my own speculation. 😅

    Those pictures showing the bike being easily picked up are misleading. It is fairly heavy.

    Are there regular bikes that allow you to carry a passenger in the back at a lower price point?

    • @ElectricRidesUT
      @ElectricRidesUT  ปีที่แล้ว

      A non-electric bike that will allow for a passenger? I know of the Tern Short Haul but it's still about $1K US but I'm sure there are some cheaper options out there.

    Nice video. Very well put together. The torque on these are about half the standard of 48v fat tire ebikes these days. That's a huge drawback possibly over riding the other benefits. For the price point though, I suppose they need to pull back somewhere and torque is a spec that most new buyers won't know to look for.

    • @ElectricRidesUT
      @ElectricRidesUT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you kindly! That is true about the torque. For a 500w motor the torque rating is about what I'd expect but yes, it would have been nice to see a 750w motor with the equivalent torque of that higher powered motor but like you said - they gotta pinch pennies somewhere to get that price, I guess.

    • @Milesco
      @Milesco ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree regarding the weak torque. I have a 3.0, and while the pedal assist power is good, the throttle-only power is not. I don't know why it's so different, but while I get a reasonably good push from the motor when riding in pedal assist mode, the throttle response is decidedly mediocre. Top speed in throttle-only is just 17.5 - 18 mph when the battery is fully charged (supposed to be 20 mph), and it goes down from there as the battery discharges. At around 50% charge level, the top speed in throttle-only mode is just 15 mph. 😕

    Ok, I have had my 2.0 for a year. Super fun bike and great for us rv types. I just got the 3.0 step tru extended range with the passenger package. I'm 6ft and 185. The wife is 5'2 and 110. She can't ride anymore due to neuropathy but can hang on just fine. Now I can take her with me and she can once again be out there enjoying the ride! The extended range for an extra 200 bucks is a no brainer. The passenger seat works just fine. The passenger handle also s fine and very adjustable. The passenger pegs are barely Adequate and are on the too small and too short side. Definitely going to need the front rack for storage and may modify my saddle bags to fit and see if the wife can ride with those on. The bike itself is great and I do notice the difference in the torque and I'm glad they put the 11-28 cassette on, that's the first thing I did with the 2.0 and it's a big improvement.😎

    • @lahawk7410
      @lahawk7410 ปีที่แล้ว

      I realize that she isn't riding the 3.0 but can you tell me if she can fit on it? Is the frame of the 3.0 much taller than the 2.0? Floor to frame where seat post is inserted measurement? I've tested a 2.0 but not the 3.0 and I'm 5' 1". I know the suspension seat post on lectric or any bike will make a bike too tall. I may be okay not touching the ground once I'm comfortable with my new ride.

    • @Cyfi71
      @Cyfi71 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lahawk7410 I think you would be good with the step thru model. It's much easier to get off and on and you can have your feet on the ground very fast. I don't think the seat post height will be a problem for you. These bikes are more geared for the shorter person than us guys who are six feet or taller. My 3.0 step tru came with the suspension seat post and comfort seat and the seat is too big for me and the suspension seat post is actually about four inches shorter than the stock post and I have a replacement on the way for both.

    • @lahawk7410
      @lahawk7410 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cyfi71 Thank you for your reply back. With a step thru of course I can slide off the seat and stand which is why I'm not considering a step over. Refresh my memory, does the 3.0 have front fork suspension? I've looked at so many my mind is scrambled. : ) I live in a hilly area and we hope to travel with them so I think power to climb is probably more important than speed. If I want speed we have motorcycles...but I don't ride fast. LOL If your wife were to ride tho, at 5' 2" you wouldn't think it too tall? Thanks again Cy.

    • @Cyfi71
      @Cyfi71 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lahawk7410 Yes, the 3.0 does have front suspension forks and they actually have a touch more travel then the 2.0. I have one guy in our neighborhood who is 5ft 2in and he is a great fit on the 3.0 no problem. One thing to remember with e bikes is you want to have your power assist (pas) setting on zero when you stop, otherwise if you accidentally twist that throttle the bike will take off without you! My bike goes with us in the storage compartment of our fifth wheel and is out of sight and out of the weather too. It's a great purchase and you will enjoy the bike for sure!😎

    Good review. One small point. Lectric confirms that 2.0 torque is 60 Nm not 35 Nm as detailed in your review.

    • @ElectricRidesUT
      @ElectricRidesUT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks appreciate it! The torque rating was one of those things I had heard conflicting info on. A few review sites said it was 60Nm however Lectric said it was 30 Nm in their 2.0 vs 3.0 comparison pdf (still shows 30Nm) so I went with that a the time.

    I made the purchase today on Black Friday of the XP 3.0 with extended battery, a second extended battery, a front basket and the passenger kit. The comfort package is bundled in for the Black Friday special. I have been shopping eBikes for awhile and while a Tern would be very nice, I don't think that should be my first eBike. My 18 year old son is autistic and I have tried to teach him how to ride a bicycle on his own, with no luck. This setup should allow for me to continue to ride when I have him for the summers. I am truly looking forward to this experience.
    One question for you - I am thinking about upgrading to hydraulic brakes. Do you happen to know if the Magura hardware that is on the Premium will fit this bike?

    • @ElectricRidesUT
      @ElectricRidesUT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's awesome, from what I hear of the bike I think that you'll be happy with your purchase!
      As far as the brake hardware upgrade. The hardware that the the XPremium uses should work on the XP 3.0. The XPremium is a bit longer than the 3.0 (7 inches longer for the Xpremium) so there would probably be slightly more slack but other than that it it should be fine.
      I have the hydraulic brake upgrades from Area 13 ebikes and they work great, I'd recommend possibly checking those out as well.

    • @williamsmothers8830
      @williamsmothers8830 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ElectricRidesUT I sure will! Thanks for the suggestion. I may wait until the warranty has expired. I suppose it depends on how obnoxious the brakes are. I may just try some different brake shoes first.

    I've had over 2 dozen quality issues and terrible service experiences and mistakes with lectric across the 2.0, 3.0 and premium, ive probably sent over 100 emails and had 20 calls. I have the 2.0 and had so many issues, and figured it was just my luck and so got the 3.0 and premium on black friday deals. Big mistake, I would avoid at all costs. I clearly had bad luck but having it on 3 bikes is really annoying. Sucks because the price is good but you get what you pay for and i think they have grown too fast and quality control has dropped off.

    Hi, I was wondering if you can help me chose. I am looking for an ebike that will allow me to film neighborhoods. At first I thought of the lite, but then I realized I want a long range. The question is, do I really need the 3.0 ? The 2.0 long range is on sale right now, I would appreciate it if you can help me. Thanks

    • @ElectricRidesUT
      @ElectricRidesUT  ปีที่แล้ว

      The XP 2.0 Long Range is a great bike as well, especially at the $1049 price that it's on sale for right now. I'm assuming your in TX which doesn't have a ton of hills so the extra motor wattage/torque that the 3.0 has over the 2.0 and unless you're going to be carrying the extra weight on the back rack it wouldn't be much of a difference with the rear rack either.
      If you REALLY wanted to, you could upgrade the brake rotors on the 2.0 to 180mm rather easily and the freewheel is a bit more involved but easy to change as well (if you cared about the 11 vs 14 tooth freewheel) but most people wouldn't bother.
      It's a tough choice though since both the 2.0 and 3.0 are really great bikes for the price.
