Jeffrey Sachs: US Is FOOLING Europe Into Another War

  • Interview Part 2 of 2. Firtz Edlinger interviews Jeffrey Sachs on the horrific crimes against the Palestinians. Sachs explains his peace plan, the root cause of the conflict and the responsibility of the United States in enabling the ethnic cleansing of the Gaza strip.
Part 1 here: • Jeffrey Sachs: US Coul...
All necessary measures have been on the table for a long time. There is no need for a new international process but for concrete implementation under international leadership. The two conflicting parties are unable to find a solution on their own. The leadership should unquestionably rest in the hands of the United Nations, which should decide, as a first concrete step, to admit the state of Palestine as a full member. Following that, the war in and around Gaza should be ended as quickly as possible, with international peacekeeping forces monitoring and ensuring it.
A crucial component of the Sachs Plan involves establishing a "UN Reconstruction and Sustainable Development Funds" with a proposed budget of at least 160 billion USD. It is intended to be primarily financed by a significant reduction in international military expenditures.
Jeffrey Sachs recognizes the need for a radical shift in U.S. Israeli and Middle East policy. He sees potential for this change, as the U.S. population increasingly disagrees with their government's aggressive foreign policy, supported by numerous opinion polls. He hopes that this pressure, combined with actions from the international community (given that a large majority of UN member states support the immediate admission of Palestine to the United Nations), will compel the U.S. administration to break free from the influence of powerful lobbies in Washington. From Europe, he hopes for a distancing from the growing dependence on the U.S.
In conclusion, it is a logical and well-thought-out plan, lacking only one thing: the necessary courage from the international community to finally address a concrete solution to the longest-standing unresolved international problem. The overwhelming majority of the international community is, however, ready for such a solution.

THE US HAS JUST NOW ADMITTED THE STRATEGY WAS ALWAYS THAT ZELENSKY WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WIN THE WAR IN UKRAINE.
The US strategy has two elements:
      1. To keep Russia's military occupied having to defend its Western borders from NATO aggression wilfully calculated to prevent Russia getting involved in the war against Israel.
      2. LlOYD AUSTAIN'S STATEMENT
It is obvious that Biden and Austin to keep the war going are planning to get Zelensky to stage an attack on Ukraine to provoke Congress into a state of hysteria and to blame the attack on Putin. It is the same strategy that they used to blow up the NORD gas pipeline.
Biden and Austin"s cunning plan is to launder as much taxpayer's money through his proxy war in Ukraine for as long as it takes back to his family and co-conspiritors on his gravy train in Washington before Biden is thrown out of the White House. By that time the multi billions of Taxpayer money will be long gone, never to be paid back. It is blatant theft.
BIDEN AND HIS HIGHLY ORGANISED CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE SYNDICATE ARE LAUNCHING ALL THE WAY TO THEIR OFF SHORE BANKS.

Dutchman in Amsterdam here, European politicians and press don't dare to say a peep about the US blowing up our Nord Stream pipeline. Nord Stream is 9% Dutch, 9% French, 31% German and 51% Russian. We all need it for clean, inexpensive, dependable energy. A huge investment. A friendly multilateral undertaking.
Even our "environmentalists" are silent. Blowing up Nord Stream is catastrophic for the climate. The largest single methane release ever recorded.
A slap in the face from the US.
Pathetic that our politicians and press and environmentalists are too cowered to stand up for the people they are supposed to represent and to inform and to protect.
Because of much higher energy costs due to the sabotage, our elderly and people on a tight budget now have to decide between eat or heat.
Thanks State Department! Thanks Neocons! We won't forget this. Perhaps we need to find better friends. Perhaps we need to rebalance the whole situation and bring Russia into the fold.
Who's running the US? Have they no sense of consequences? Allies alienated. Enemies emboldened. Losing influence around the globe. C'mon, US! You can do better than this!
Who's running Europe? C'mon, Europe! We can do better than this!

For instance, Israel does not have to be a NATO member, to be the most respect NATO member for the US! Which European NATO member would ever get the backing that the US provides for Israel: none! It is even fair to claim that both the US and Israel are just the same thing! Israel is even more important to the US, than the US itself for itself!

I agree with most of his reasoning, but the EU of the last 10-15 years mostly is the kind of EU that Washington wanted, rich but politically weak and malleable for Big Brother Uncle Sam. The EU has become more and more entwined with NATO, but in NATO the top dogs are the US and UK, none of which are part of the EU or even see themselves as "European" in any deeper sense - so mainland Europe really has handed over control over much of its strategic thinking and the choices about its own security to the Anglo-Saxons (more powerful because they have the military clout and are protected by the sea against any kind of regular land invasion). This has become more obvious than ever with the Ukraine war: the Euro elite is in on the side of NATO out of loyalty to the US, rather than because they love Kiev so much...
Honestly it's a kind of Stockholm syndrome of mainland Europe vs its controllers in London and Washington - and this clearly needs to end. I hope we will see some radical changes to the EU in the future (also, the current EU Commission, headed by Ursula and Josip Borrell, pretty much are Washington assets: there isn't much difference between their view of the world and that of Victoria Nuland)

      @louise_rose 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

@@casteretpollux Agree. The American working class has been weakened too, of course, but this hasn't affected the global standing of the US in such a powerful way yet, because the American dollar and global "top dog" position make it possible to offset some of those effects for a while longer (not indefinitely, though). There was a lively public debate about the downsides of globalization, job flight and de-industrialization back in the 1990s and early 00s, but it was suppressed by political and media designs after the early Bush years.
The EU, in its modern version, from around the Amsterdam treaty in 1997 and the project of the joint Euro currency, is based on a set of "joyride assumptions" about the economy, free trade and how to bring Europe closer, assumptions that were bound up with a heavy emphasis on free borders and trust in the US as the lynchpins to the future. I was never a believer in the idea of a rigid, quasi-federal "United States of Europe"-type bloc with masses of rigidly uniform directives and legislation that often overrides the member state/ parliament level - that idea is both corrupt and long-term impossible, I think it has to go, or rather it needs to be removed by the nations of Europe - but it's very useful for the US of course, it makes it easier and less visible to manipulate the European scene.

    - Correct. The US has fueled / was the driving force behind the war in 1) Syria (2011-2017), 2) Libya (2011), 3) Ukraine / Russia (2022-2023) and Europe is the one who has to pay for those "adventures" of the US (think: more refugees).
    - Israel seems to consider to let palestinians to "emigrate" to a number of countries. But it seems Europe is finally showing it has some sort of a backbone and seems to have refused that request.

Europe are the ones who should go in front and admit that Kiev has clearly lost the war (provoked and funded by the US and NATO, but I figure that's too muc to hear for some guys) and that for the sake of the Ukrainian people, who are being driven off as cannon fodder for NATO, Elensky now has to step down and there needs to be a properly negotiated peace with Russia, in exchange for Ukraine ceding some territory and promising not to join NATO. That's what needs to happen, and many countries of the EU should make it clear that they are not going to continue pumping money and armament into this hopeless fight. Actually, Europe owes Ukraine nothing in this war, and that should have been made clear from the start.
But I realize that it will be extremely difficult for the EU to even begin thinking in such terms.

Yes, Hamas (which lets not forget Netanyahu contributed to their rise) might actually be obliterated after this onslaught but one would have to be extremely naive to think that there won't be another group to take it's place, and even more so now with Palestinians getting killed left and right in mass. If there is something I've learnt from the Middle East is that those people can hold grudges either due to their culture or because, they don't have any opportunities and hence, they have all the time in their world to hold them. Human loss aside, all Israel is doing with this is pushing the issue for future generations to handle.

As an European, I would not be so worried by a come back of Donald Trump. The US foreign politics is almost the same with Democrats and Republicans at the White House, but the laters arise a certain reluctance of European political élites. It happened in the case of Iraq invasion and it was also remarkable during Trump´s period. In fact, the machinery of US foreign affairs administration is nowadays interchangeable, dominated by members of neo-con think tanks ( many of them anti-Trump republicans), and, surprisingly, the conflict in Syria that is mentioned arouse with Obama-H.Clinton and was attenuated when Trump came to the White House ( a conflict which was on the way to become a US-Russia direct confrontation). So, what we should say to our politicians is : we do not expect you to be humanitarian, but at least be sensible. Otherwise we will have more refugees crisis ( with thousands of people trying to cross the Mediterranean, not the Atlantic), that will dive more fuel to the extreme right and will harm further our economy.

@@bishimixes9871Finland had peace by staying out of NATO and staying neutral. Looks like the citizens of Finland have had too much peace and think that changing a good recipe and dragging themselves onto the edge of war despite the example of Ukraine they think they are smart alecs that think that what happened to Ukraine is because Ukraine was not in NATO. Forgetting that despite being in NATO, if something happens they are at the frontline the destruction would be their homeland, their country and most of the people dying would be their own.

Jeffrey, I agree with much you are saying, but I have some reservation about a "two state solution" for Israel and Palestine. Just look at the map, and red lights come up. How would you integrate Gaza into the East Bank state? What needs to be done is to dissolve all the governments, i.e., Israel, Gaza and the East Bank and create a new state which grants equal rights and citizenship to all the people who live within its borders. But Israel would have to compensate the Palestinians for the land and property stolen by the Jews since 1948. The Palestinians have a legitimate claim for compensation, because they had a homeland in 1948 that the invading Zionists took from them. Israel on the other hand, did not exist prior to 1948, so has no legitimate claim for any compensation it extorts from Germany, but because Germany lost the war which it never wanted, the victors have dictated all conditions imposed on it since 1945, and that is the reason for still not having a peace treaty signed. I see no reason why Jews, Muslims and Christians could not live in the same country peacefully and in harmony. Canada has a diverse population, more French in Quebec than elsewhere, but we are still all Canadians. Why could not the land of Palestine have provinces predominantly Jewish and other predominantly Muslim and Christian and be bilingual in Hebrew and Arabic? But as long as this evil cabal of ultra-Zionist satanists are in power, nothing will change.

Comprehensive Infiltration of key US political, media, military and business over the years. Today those sponsors are even telling top US academic institutions not to allow critics of Israel to air their views all under the broadening definition of anti-Semitic. The decline of an empire by infiltration of another group. US dual citizenship is her Achilles heel.

I’ll give it a try to answer your question here giving a few hints because it seems to be a quite complex issue:
The existence of the state of Israel is the product of ancient European imperialism, especially anglophone (history 19th century -> 1948).
After WW II the industrial military complex (ruling the USA behind the scenes and therefore it won’t matter which one of those parties are “representing” the USA, as presidents would be killed anyways when not complying with their orders, already seen in the past) decided to place their base right there looking at the natural resources available in that wider region. The “running storyline” at that time was just perfect covering up the actual interests behind.
Now they have got a NON-REPLACEABLE spot on earth there from where they can reach pretty far with by military and nuclear weapons: gulf region, whole middle east up to Russia. Still it’s all about imperialism. Think of a US military base paid by the USA. It’s not about Judaism (peacefully living in harmony with their neighbors since millenniums in that very region) but Zionism (which is a pretty much aggressive and imperialistic organization) very useful in executing what’s required. In other words they NEED this state of Israel and that’s why they might be ready for extortion by those “working” for them. Maybe any one of them are just marionettes.
Just one perspective touched here, there might be others…

Antiarabic feelings can be freely expressed in the comments' section in the newspapers but when I write that American wars created the migration crisis and that there are still santions on Syria, I never get through. Maybe even the moderators think this is "fake news".
How can ppl make an informed decision in politics, they drift to the right of course, where at least "something" sounds rational.
