Is U.S. foreign policy a scam built on corruption? Jeffrey Sachs, renowned American scholar, raises alarms about the U.S.'s foreign policies, heavily influenced by big money. With a staggering $886 billion military budget in 2022, making up almost 40 percent of global spending, what's the real impact on U.S. foreign decisions? And who really benefits?

I’m not 60, but not far from it and l have seen good things. Of course I have seen bad things as well… our foreign policy needs to be adjusted. Sacs says some agreeable things but the fact that he always speaks in support of our adversaries makes him non credible. He’s just as corrupt as the politicians in my opinion it’s quite obvious. He sits here saying the same things that could be said about Russia, China and Iran. He speaks of corruption? The people in these countries have spoken out about their own governments and we communicate with their citizens now through social media. It’s ridiculous like these places aren’t corrupt with greater wealth disparities than the US. He must be for authoritarianism because he never is concerned about the citizens and just continuously bashing America on behalf of Russia & China.

The problem with the nation is greed. The teachers want more control and benefits. But the learning outcome is poor. The politician want more power. But with wasteful spending. The defense industry wants to sell more weapons. But with more wars. And the Bankers want to screw the people. And they have largely succeeded. Donald Trump is America's last hope. He is unsophisticated, is not perfect, a bit divisive, but loves his nation, loves Whites and Blacks alike, and believes in personal freedom and liberty. He is not the ideal candidate, but the alternative is worst. Trump believes in personal freedom which is the true American spirit. He should work with China and tone down his attacks against that nation as they are not the cause of America's problems.

We need politicians to be named and what their connections are with whom. For example we know Cheney was on the board of Halliburton and Freeport McMoran (connected to the exploitationary Javanese regime in Papua). Where are the Biden administration and Congressional officials connected? For sure Lindsay Graham is connected somewhere. But it is not only the miltary-industrial complex. It is also the financial one. Goldman Sachs and various equity firms have a huge stake in this as well. This needs to be made clear.

An interview that gives me a feeling of much hope for a better world and , in my view , a programme of great honesty and integrity . From Robert of Australia 🇦🇺.

Nothing is going to change. We are still headed in the same direction for the final showdown.

Do the USA lobbies dictate policy
Is this the root of the problem

Yes. Basically. Policies are driven by the interests of big businesses.

Why doesn’t this guy start back all the way in the 1940s and 50s? With the wonderful Dulles brothers and the havoc they spread across the world?!?

a MIC gone amok, totally out of control. As the saying goes, 'those who do not learn the lessons of history are condemned to repeat it'. Every empire, thru out history, has gotten drunk from and gotten destroyed from an overdose of pride, aka hubris. This endless money printing to pay for endless wars, as the USA has been addicted to, is an unsustainable model and will inevitably lead to the downfall of this empire. Yet, amazingly enuf, most Americans are unable to even see the reality that America is a definite empire, probably because the corporate controlled media in America does a deliberate job of distorting that reality.
