Great job, but you HAVE TO stop telling these random strangers (who is most likely the money mule in on the scam) how you do what you do. You are giving them too much information about what you do. The last thing you want is for the scammers to know how you track them down. That would only make them smarter and harder to catch.

If you convince them that they could get in trouble, they will subconsciously go into defensive mode and lie about details and you will have no idea if they are telling the truth or not. That's just the human condition. When people are nervous/scared, they will lie to everyone, including themselves, to get out of trouble or to avoid looking guilty. That's why they take so long to answer questions. They are trying to think of a logical lie that the others will believe.
It's a very sad day when members of the general public have to step up to the plate in order to quell this fraud, which is the job of the police and other authorities at home and abroad.
even if cops would do it, the result would be the same.....if you don't have victim making complaint they cannot do much (yes they can suspect that they are something shady going there)

It's the same old story: police are bloated with bribe money themselves (either in India, or Africa, or wherever). And so, they do not act for fear of losing them nice green crisp bills.. In the end, courageous private citizens with computer chops, balls and smarts step up, and turn the tables on them. Frankly, Trilogy has done huge good. Aside from entertaining the crap out of all of us. Giving us gleeful moments of vengeance we can dig, because some of us have had a loved one scammed...and we take this shit REAL personal. If the FEARSOME THREE can stop some of these bastards in their tracks. It's all good.

I feel like you gave this guy every reason to deny everything. If he is a scammer or mule he is not planning on getting caught. But the moment you got to him you told him that this is a scam before you had enough self incriminating information. He did say that someone told him to receive a package for him. But now that he is busted he changed his story after realizing that he is caught. He is Nigerian taking from his accent. He might have been ask to receive money by his country man or might be actively involved.
I think they're tactics were to keep him talking. The more you get them to talk the more likely a guilty person will expose themselves.

When somebody fails to answer the question and muddies the water that is a clear cut sign they are lying. He knows exactly what he is supposed to do with that package and the minute you leave he will call that person and tell them everything. I would just keep hammering hard on who do you give this package to who does this package go to and just tell him he’s not answering the question.
You can’t really use body language ‘analysis’ in this way: it’s not exactly ‘proof’ it’s about clusters of behaviour but, ultimately, yes, the guy’s a mule -doing a poor job looking innocent.

If they get there ahead of time, they could set up a camera discretely, then attempt to deliver the package and get signature. If they accept it, then come in with the other camera, and confront them.
They're trying to do good, but they jump the gun, and talk too much, because they're too eager, and not prepared, and it backfires.🤷♀️

I'd really like to see you guys succeed in your scam/mule chasing. Something I've noted: One of you needs to be the speaker, not both of you. Adopt a listen and speak less attitude. Dont divulge anything, get the info from them first. Its not your job to allay their fears and put them at ease. Also get someone to sign for the package or at least verbally confirm who they are if you cant get ID from them. Decide before hand if you want to leave the package with someone other than the intended recipient. Be prepared to walk away. Good luck and take care out there, this is dangerous territory.

The mule will not give the scammer up; the idea is to mash the mule, of course he will act like he don’t know anything. Stop talking to them like they are innocent. Follow the money. You don’t give them a chance to actually except the package. Then you know they are the mule. Leave the dummy pack and observe. Every address you guys go to…. is the MULE. You are giving to much information telling them your strategy….I watch these you let them make you look like a fool. The game is to be sold not told. You didn’t stop anything here, you just showed them a different way to do it. Wish I could work with you guys….

As a former FedUps employee, one of many things they teach you in training is that you CANNOT deliver packages in mailboxes. It is illegal for anyone other then the resident or postal worker to use a mailbox/mail slot, etc. Some customers(residents) make there “own mailbox’’ usually to send and receive packages of larger size and also to keep the weather from destroying the contents. The US Postal Service is government owned and operated. FedEx, UPS, DHL, (insert any local delivery company with a van) are private. That’s why if you happen to miss a delivery they don’t give you the option to drop it into there mailbox because a driver can’t legally open a mailbox without incurring fines and or possible prison time. This has been a

Next time, change the order up. Wait for FedEx to actually deliver the package, then approach the house with another package. Then ask what they did with the first package.
