I know Amtrak is pitching a Wilmington-Ashville route via Greensboro/Winston-Salem, but I thought "Why not offer a second route via Charlotte?" and then I extended it to Knoxville under the name Smokey Mountaineer with throughway service from Newport and Knoxville-Southern Terminal to the region because sure there's transit when you get there, but there really isn't any TO there
