Im leaving for Tennessee on Friday and my parents said we’re not going to dolly wood but I changed there mind by sending them this video so thx so much!!!!!
Your narration, with the quality and excellent editing skills is why I continue to come back and watch your videos! Hopefully I can make my first visit to this park later this year.
As a veteran of Dollywood (yearly season ticket holder since 1990) I agree with many of the responses. There are MANY other hidden surprises not mentioned in this video!
I live not far from Dollywood and my mamaw works there in one of the shops! Fun fact, there are actually two train engines that they switch between, Klondike Katie and Cinderella. Klondike Katie was actually the original engine that's been there since it was Rebel Railroad.
You have the absolute best voice I've herd on TH-cam. I'd prefer to listen to you than Morgan Freeman seriously. Your channel needs to blow up because you have some of the best videos out man.
Went this past Sunday on Labor Day weekend. Fast passes helped a lot. Rode all the coasters except the green suspended one in the back (it was down) and the orange kiddy coaster. Your advice helped tons because I rode the second train of the day front row on lighting rod. I headed up instead of back left to hit fire chaser the mystery mine. Last coaster I rode was wild eagle. I was on the last train as the rain rolled in. Got our cinnamon bread early after our first lap at the bakery up front. Maybe a 5 minute wait and was able to sit inside. Rode everything twice and was headed back to the hotel around 5pm. It was a perfect day.
I can get u interviews with folks who have worked there many many years if thats something you'd be interested in along with more special things not known
Major tip - go during EASTER WEEKEND! I went for the first time the Saturday before Easter and it was fairly empty! The longest line we had to wait was about 40 minutes for lightning rod . All the others were 10-20 minutes
This guide really helped me out when I went. The only waits were on Lightning Rod firechaser and Mystery mine and they were only about 20 minutes. I do wish I got more rides on Lightning Rod. I spent five days in the area and had so much fun.
I love the cinematic shots of the food, and especially the train. Wow. Also, ive seen those drone shows elsewhere, theyre amazing. Hopefully the wave of the future
Thanks for making this video. I took my family to Dollywood last summer and I was lucky enough to see this video the day before. It helped immensely. We followed all your advice and had a great day. We were there from park open till close and the only thing we missed was the train, just wasn’t enough time in the day. Aunt grannies was amazing. Great park.
This video made me so hyped for Dollywood and I had a great first visit last year. Looking forward to visiting again next year when the new coaster is rolling!
HE'S BACK!!!! YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another Dollywood video later this week!!! AHHH Just to hype myself up even more, I'm gonna go rewatch the CP documentary for the millionth time :)))
Another great video. I will be using your plan when I get up there this summer. I'm interested in how you would plan out Cedar Point and my home park of Busch Gardens Tampa.
We went in November 2021. One tip I'd add is that if you go during a cold weather season, be aware that the coasters WILL CLOSE if the temp dips into the 40s due to mechanical limitations of things like the lubricants and the rubber wheels. We managed to ride all the coasters we wanted, but after the sun went down and the temp dropped, the coasters closed soon after, so additional rides were not possible. And, yes, Smoky Mountain Christmas was in full swing and VERY worth the visit!
Thanks for the videos, very nicely done. One thing that is majorly missing is entertainment. The park in earlier years was basicly about entertainment for the most part but today they offer great rides but entertainment is still a huge part of what the park is about. Add in the shows to your day and it is for sure a two day park. So much to see, ride and foods to try! Thanks again!
Thanks for this link. I'm gong to Dollywood next year for Labor Day weekend...I've never been and I cannot wait! It'll be wonderful to explore this invigorating area and also pay for a business operated by the classy, dignified and amazing Dolly Parton.
I live like right by Dollywood and I can never stress how much fun I have had there! I've been to other parks and still would just prefer to stay here ❤
Honestly, no offense to okaycoasters, but it really isn't that hard to make steam locomotives look badass. They're truly works of art and insane feats of engineering. Ask anyone who's seen a Union Pacific Big Boy in person, they'll understand what I mean.
That being said, I absolutely loved the cinematography and editing done by okaycoasters. Besides a few hiccups I noticed in the editing, everything looked very professional and eye-catching. Can't wait to see this channel evolve even further.
That’s because it’s the best train at a theme park. My cousin’s the attraction manager at Dollywood and we both have interest in trains, though I’m more into it than him. I know that ride like the back of my hand. Immediately out of the station, you hit a 5% uphill grade, which means for every 100 feet you travel, you climb 5 feet. You don’t stop climbing until that curve just past the railroad crossing used to access Wildwood Grove, and by the time you reach the upper loop, you’ve climbed over 200 feet since you started your trip. To compare the grades on Dollywood Express to the freight railroads across the US, most don’t exceed 2% over mountain ranges. The steepest grade used by a freight railroad is Chestnut Ridge and Copper Ridge Grades, located between Clinton and Powell, Tennessee. Chestnut Ridge max grade is 3.53%, while Copper Ridge Grade has an average grade of 1.7%. Before these grades, it was Saluda Grade in southern North Carolina, with an average grade of 4.24% and a maximum grade of 4.9%. The steepest adhesion (I.e. steel-wheels-on-steel-rails-without-assistance-of-a-rack-and-pinion-system) railway in the US is Cass Scenic Railway, a former logging railway in West Virginia, using specialized ‘geared’ steam locomotives, with a maximum gradient of 11.1%. TH-camr Delay In Block Productions has great videos about Saluda Grade and Chestnut Ridge and Copper Ridge Grade. There is also Smokymtnsteam who made a great video showing off the geared locomotives of the Cass Scenic Railroad.
First, thank you so much for making my Dollywood trip PERFECT, and second, keep up the awesome videos! And finally, when are we gonna get the third video in the series? I've been following for a while and haven't seen an update on this series in a while. But anyway, thanks again for your epic content, and have a great day!
This was a GREAT guide, really enjoyed the tips. I went to Dollywood back in 2015 and missed out on a lot of things I could've visited. I'll make sure check more things out on my next visit!
Although i have no plans of visiting Dollywood soon (at least not this year), this is still super informative. I would love to see this style on one of the Orlando parks.
Hoping to visit Dollywood a few times this year, I've never been there as an enthusiast. I'll definitely be following the advice you gave in this video! Great vid as always!

Well, I've never gotten a single notification about anything, but I clicked the bell anyway. I would definitely encourage you to ride more than just the coasters when you go to a park (water rides are a better relief on a hot day than standing indoors). I grew up with Dorney, and Morey's, and it always baffles me when people pay to get into these parks and then completely snub the water rides. It's like leaving fun AND money on the table. Anyway, loved this video!
I've long since touted the experience of DollyWood & all the Hersched attractions! Stone Mountain & Silver Dollar City. SDC is actually older than the original Six Flags Over Texas (which I also love) Great ride line up, family rides, great food & staff! Not knocking Disney, but Hershend ROCKS!!! Love you Dolly! Great video okaycoasters!!!!!!

Great video. Going in 2 weeks for only my second time so this definitely helped. Going on a Friday, hoping the crowds arent anything like they were during spring break the past 2 weeks
I've been to dollywood many times over the years, honestly probably 80+ times. Here's what I suggest for everyone and input. If your looking to see everything dollywood has to offer, go right at the entrance and ride lightning rod. Then go ahead and hit up river rampage down the paths, if you want to ride the flat rides, turn tight at the end to the fair grounds, if not, go left, this will take you to the rest of the coasters, fire chaser express is not worth the wait if it's over 25 minutes, I suggest getting a time saver for it, dragonflier as well. For festivals, mainly the fireworks and lights, go around 3-5, good chance everyone is leaving or more are coming in, most people go right at this time, all the coasters lines will be lower, make yohr way all the way to lightning rod this time, and I bet it will have a better line, still go with my tip for dragon flier and fire chaser. To me, the best flat fixes are the dizzy disc and drop line, nothing more to be said.

For any one who didn’t know this, the train at Dollywood was actually used in WW2.
What was it used for?
