How do you feel about it being a mat screen instead of glossy? I really want this screen but thats the only thing holding me back
wow wow wow. That thing is insane.
can you test on max settings with full resolution HDR on, what you get FPS on games?
did you update to the latest firmware also ?
Hello will RTX 3070 ti 8gb MSI Raider GE66 32gb RAM work with this monitor?
1:57:58 he means the LG 32GS95UE oled monitor or the asus pg32udcp its a 32'' oled that is $1299 direct from lg it can run 4k @ 240hz and 1080p @ 480hz I have this odyssey neo g9 and that one I have on pre order
Any chance you are able to test hdr.on both desktop and gaming?
Curiosu as to whether or not the imagie is blown out ok desktop.
on desktop its blown out in hdr but in game hdr really works it shines source I have the monitor
That thing is nuuts, appreciate the livestream ! Laptop 4090 is doing quite well considering its around 60% slower than desktop variant. Performance level upscaling is basically a requirement. Probably not until laptop 6090 that you can run this thing with high fiedlity. In witcher 3 when you thought you were changing texture setting it was actually the terrain quality. 😜
How was the back light of the monitor and black areas? Does it feel close to OLED monitors?
no, not close to oled at all. i have a LG C2 OLED 42 and this on my sim rig, LG C2 wins hands down.
@@deesee76 it s a late answer though 😂 but thank you. I ended up buying lg c3 which is pretty good. :)
@@faruknane good choice i use LG C2 as my productivity and FPS gaming and it’s amazing. i got the 57 Double UHD monitor for my sim rig which fits most of my requirements (needs more vertical space), but definitely cheaper and better than having a triple LG C2 OLED TV setup and will absolutely bring the 4090 to its knees
@@deesee76 triple??? Oh my god 😂. Nice setup
Do you play escape from tarkov? If so can you make a video playing it and tekken 8 beta or full game?
I don’t. But I hear Tarkov is a great game
Thank you for providing a very good overview of this monitor. I plan to buy this monitor for myself as well, and it's very important that both PC and Mac support it. I do not plan to purchase it until Nvidia's newer generation GPUs are out, which do not have those legacy HDMI and DisplayPorts, and I hope that by that time, Samsung will already have version 2 of this monitor out and Ergotron will have a monitor stand that supports this monitor. I hope it will be the end of this year.
You are limited to 120 Hz because you need to change your monitors settings (use the monitor serting on the monitor) and change your Display Port from 1.4 to 2.1 (out of the box it defaults to 1.4) try that see if that fixes your Hz limitation.
and what games did not support 7680 x 2160?
Currently only the RDNA 3 GPUs can fully power this display. At the price of this monitor, the 7900 XTX is pretty cheap to anyone who can afford this monitor.
Just got this for racing sim rig!
is it any good for sim racing? i currently use a LG C2 OLED 42 inch and i’m not sure if the G9 neo 57 inch still have enough vertical space.
@@deesee76PHILIPP GEPPL look on TH-cam he does simvideos with this 57” it’s very nice
You can do it by yourself ....alone!
How strong are you!!!
Most of the chat here is correct. this monitor is not 8K, 7680 × 4320 is 8K, this is 7680 x 2160. it is called Dual 4K - 8K horizontally and 4K vertically. is. imagine two 16:9 4K monitors together.
Just unboxed mine, wholly hell, it is a wide boy… definitely pushes my 4090 at 7680x2160, HDMI2.1 only goes up to 120hz and needs DLSS (which i’m not a fan of) to maintain a stable 120fps.
As a comparison, I have a LG C2 OLED as my main display and as good as Mini-LED are dealing with light bleed, it ain’t perfect and not in the same league as oled. definitely miles better then IPS, instead of light bleed, we now get a bunch of halos where the white object meets with black. it’s fine during the day but when it’s dark, you really notice it. colour really pops on this monitor and having a 240hz support is nice for the future once Nvidia supports displayport 2.1.
I managed to install this monitor to my Sim Racing Rig and it was so immersive. I was sick of dealing with PCVR settings and the lack of FOV using 16:9 display. Don’t get me wrong, there is still a bit of effort getting the right FOV for double 4K and it’s not perfect. So far, i have managed to get ACC in proportion (ie. the side mirrors are not stretched out or too large). If you are having this problem, set the “Project Correction=1” under view settings / Triple and Widescreen to correct this.
F1, Forza Motorsport and iRacing all looks correct out of the box but no luck with Automobilista 2, Le Mans Ultimate. Having tried rFactor2, Project Cars or Racing Room yet.
Next iteration of this 57 inch should include a taller vertical height, 32:10 aspect ratio and comes with OLED (120hz is fine).
Have you tested the brightness of your laptop screen
Could not find the tool, looked everywhere
@@GizmoSlipTech lol still missing?
Which CPU are you running bro? I thought mine was pretty hot running an i9 13900KS haha max I hit in some high-ending games but not frequently was 86-90 degrees, oh and nice Monitor I also have had the same one since November 2023, it's a great monitor even for productivity as well
Its the Scar 18 laptop with i9-14900HX and laptop 4090
@@GizmoSlipTech oh ok not bad too bad, but yeah maybe trying to undervolt could help with the cpu heat issue, but still congrats on the monitor. I definitely recommend HDR, I made a video also on that.
The only thing I do is switch the HDR mapping from the monitors settings from static to active when playing a game, at least with the right settings you get a very nice boost
Its not a cpu heat issue, more of a laptop issue in general. 85c+ on laptops is pretty much the norm for most of them. Compared to desktops it seems alarming but its just the way it is, these cpus dont usually throttle until 95c+. @@khaos555
@@Jtwizzle Yeah when he mentioned it was his laptop , I realized it was normal, even on desktop an 13th Gen CPU can still go up to 100 degrees c without throttling the i9 1300KS could go up to 115 but of course that's more towards benchmarks and stress test, real time gaming ,I only got to around 86 degrees but not a frequent thing, it does stay between 65-86 in one spike or so depending on the game and settings some of them like cyberpunk I play using max settings
you can run it at 3840x2160 @ 240hz
I really want a laptop for my live streams, but those fans are so noisy 😢
with some tweaks and undervolte it should reduce fans noise
I had the fans at max speed for max performance. You could run them much quieter if you wish at 90% of potential performance.
8K is four 4k, sixteen 1080p
This one is 6K then right?
@@186bingo it is not 6K, it's dual 4K since the width pixel still 2160p, 6K means the width pixel is 3160p.
@@rickysudiantoro3363 understood. The Ks are getting to much for my troglodytes neurons to math
I want this to replace my Apple XDR, just not sure my eyes could handle 78 less PPI. 😬
huuuuugggeee monitor!
is this your wife's youtube debut?
As my wife, yes. But she has been in many other videos I have made over the years
@@GizmoSlipTech congrats!
The 4090 is not way more faster then 7900xtx your talking 10-15fps more in most games
I can play Counterstrike 2 at full resolution (7680x2160) 240hz with Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X 24GB GDDR6 Graphics Card with no problems.
you need a better GPU for this screen.
It's NOT 8K. It's dual 4K. 8k is quad 4K... For a tech reviewer it seems like not understanding the basics of the equipment you're reviewing is a bit of a red flag.
He mentioned that a few times in the stream.
@@paulpatrulescu9976 Didn't watch because the thumbnail said 8K. If he knew, then he could have updated it - but chose not to.
Yeah it's a clickbait
PPI is waaaaay too low to be 8K.
Its not "8k" its 4k
This is not dual 4K.
Isn’t it just under 4K ??
It’s two 4k side by side
Certainly dual 4K = 6K
It's 24k, not 8k
HDR performance for this monitor is terrible on desktop.
Play max payne 1 with this 😅
2x4K is not 8K.
2 × 4 is 8
It's not 8k. That's literally 1/2 of 8k resolution.
Zero reason to buy anything in 8k....
My ONLY mistake with this monitor is that I already have OLED displays. So 80 percent of the time I'm in the settings on it trying to make it look better. Size is great, mini LED is good...but it does not look anywhere in the area of OLED good. VA panels are just ass... no tech can make that look better. The matte screen is maybe a big part of that too. Glossy screen would probably make it look worlds better. OLED ONLY for me from now on. I'm keeping it...but next year it will be gone. Only keeping it cause it looks good on the sim racing rig!
TIP: Just run it 1440 at 240hz. Even my 4090 struggles to go 4k at 2160 on this thing. plus 4090 can't even do 240hz at 2160
They have an OLED version of this monitor at thr 1440p vertical resolution as well
@@GizmoSlipTech but not at the 57" like i bought. I returned the 49" last year. Its just too small, vertical wise for sim racing. Kills immersion.
4k not 8k
8k by 2k pixels, double the resolution of 4k. But not full 8k by 4k. But it is 8k across, so I think “8K” label is legitimate. Just not in the traditional 8k by 4k definition
@@GizmoSlipTech Not sure about your logic, but you are clearly wrong. 7680x4320 is 8K, no amount subjective truth will make the Odyssey Neo G9 an 8k screen. This type of misleading/clickbait titles do nothing but confuse the general public. By your logic 4k = 3840x1080.
Resolution Pixels
-------------------------------------------------
540p / qHD 960×540 pixels
720p / HD 1280×720 pixels

4K 4096×2160 pixels
5K 5120×2880 pixels
8K / 8K UHD 7680×4320 pixels
4k = 8,294,400 pixels total.
57" Neo G9 = 16,588,800 pixels total.
8k = 33,177,600 pixels total.
You would be more accurate calling it a 6k screen as 8k is 4 times that of a 4k screen, not 2 times.
@@GizmoSlipTech It's not legitimate. It's literally 2 32" 4K screens put together. It's still 4K. If you take 4 1080p screens and link them together, it's not 4k, it's still 1080p.
@@preditorian8069 I agree. But we literally don’t have a name for this type of resolution that the general public understands. It makes titling this in a way that people understand at a glance impossible. I do clarify the resolution right at the start of the video.
It is absolutely not a 4K screen though, which is what the original comment I was responding to was saying.
@@preditorian8069 Absolutely correct. This monitor is technically 6K not 8K. Simple math.
