I was an accountant until I discovered Matt’s offroad recovery! I don’t have time to work now as there are too many excellent videos to watch. For us Brits everything in southern Utah is so different. Most SUVs here only get used offroad on the grass in the Walmart parking lot so your sand, mud, snow etc is very unusual. @@nix4644 Most likely this is what happened- loss of control and came down backwards. No soil is disturbed beneath it and the scratches indicate the direction of travel. A low powered FWD, even AWD would not have the ability or clearance to go UP those rocks. Alternatively, it could have been stolen and intentionally rolled down that embankment. It wasn't even plated yet although the deployment of airbags suggest there was weight on the seat(s) at the time of the incident. Probably just backed up too far and slid down.
@@MOAB-UT Pretty sure the older gentleman they talked too was the owner. it was plated, Matt's team put's a fake plate over vehicles they have on video. Trevor is seen doing this in some earlier videos. Seeing as this was next to a highway, an accident makes the most logical sense. Based on the hill Rudy fell down, this vehicle probably wouldn't have rolled as far as it did down that hill without significant momentum. Once the vehicle turned backwards, it loses a significant amount of breaking force as most of the braking force is provided by the front tires. The rear of the vehicle drug the rest of it down with it. All an educated guess.
Reminds me of a guy on my first trip to Moab, his XTERRA broke down right before he left so he rented a truck. The rental f150 on poison spider Mesa was something to see.

just in case ppl don't understand, Matt went to the axle on the Moorvair instead of hitch, to keep rope angle low, as to not damage the Ground Effects front spoiler on Mustang those front ends seem to be the weak points on most Side by Sides Much respect to Rudy and Lizzy
Not so much a week point but what they land on when people launch them over dunes and find nothing but air on the other side. You can only make a ball joint so strong.
Especially down there at Sand Hollow you have to keep a fair bit of speed to keep on top of that extremely soft sand. Depending on the time of day the dunes can be hard to read, especially if you don't have a lot of experience. It's easy to get a lot of unintentional air, not necessarily flying anything resembling straight and level. You can easily end up landing nose first on one wheel at an angle, which results in an a much harder impact than you would think. The wheels just dig in and you often see the rig tumble end over end a few times if you're unlucky, or broken front end components if you're lucky.
@@marvindebot3264 Out of all my trips to Australia that is the one side I hadn't been to and the others places like Sydney, Malborne, Perth, Broome I can easily compare them to parts of the US (Hell just parts of Texas) when folks ask me what it's like.

Trevor - if you want to brag about "50% humidity" - try talking about the dew point or the heat index instead. This conveys the same information and SOUNDS way more impressive.
@@rupe53 - That's actually my very point. People can "relate" to humidity - meaning they think they know what it means -- but Trevor was getting picked on for this - because people can "relate" to it. Heat index, on the other hand - is also easy to understand - and sounds more impressive. 50% humidity at 80 degrees only adds a degree or two to the heat index. The same percentage at 100 degrees can add close to 20 degrees to the heat index and can push it from "caution" into the "danger zone." A 50% humidity day in Utah over 100 degrees would be a dew point of 90-97. Which is pretty close (joke intended) to 100% humidity at 90 or 97 degrees. Heat Index is probably the best choice to get the message across. Dew point is the best choice if you want people to be confused -- and confused people can't make fun of Trevor.
"Ed's out mining." Momentary mental image of Ed planting claymores and V-69s along the road to his claim. "We're the only ones here." Uh, Lizzy in the customer's car, Rudy driving the Morrvair, the customer holding a light on the far side and the camera still looks to be handheld...
How about the guy in the Jeep pulling a trailer in that bug-dust, alone, and at night? I am always out riding my quad or dirt bike alone, I just know when to call it quits. One thing that I DO though, is that I carry a Personal Locater Beacon. The places that I ride have poor cell reception.

I love the custom privacy license plate covers. I wonder how many hours of editing that saves? Whoever came up with that deserves a raise!
I think the idea came from the comments section on YT
It comes from the editor of course!
That Morvair has to have the very best exhaust note anywhere. It's almost haunting in this setting. Well done.
I moved 16 years ago from Philadelphia to Central Texas. I always found it hilarious when people would complain about 50% humidity. But I've lived here long enough to go soft. I complain about it too now.
normal humidity is supposed to be 30-60%. right now in my house in PA it is 45% humidity, and i feel that the air is too dry!
Utah is even worse, in a place where humidity average is in the single digits, 30 to 50 percent is brutal lol
Lol I live south FL and the humidity never gets below 50% , we just had a cold front come thru and it rained for 3 days off and on , today it's 69 degrees but the humidity is 56 % lol. My summers never get below 80 % lol.
@@dwaynet2184 I think that Would just roll over and die with that much humidity PLUS 90 degree temps.
@@Rat-Builder don't ever live in a Gulf Coast State. We rejoice if the humidity gets below 50%
Your Adventure is SOLD OUT! Both of them! Way to go!
I love how you guys get involved in supporting your community. Good job guys!
One thing I have noticed with great pleasure is that I have not heard one expletive or any foul language after watching quite a few of your videos!!!
Its so much fun to watch the Morrvair make easy work out of rescues. "Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at Matt's Off Road Rescue"! You are all such generous fun loving people.
Thank you for uploading so many videos Matt, Tucker, Lizzy, Rudy, Jamie , Ed, and the rest of the crew (sorry, still learning names) Thank you so much for the entertainment during the long, boring, and sleepless nights
Winch-cam, nice addition! Boy, that sand recovery was a tough one! How did that SUV get where it got?
Bad life choices
Spin out?
I love the travel country music Matt uses, it’s just so fitting to him , his rigs, and the things he does 👍🏽
Also LOVE the sound of the moorvair 🤤
When I lived in S.W. Arizona, we used to call that soft stuff "Moon Dust". When you walk in it, it puffs out and sort of defies gravity the way it is soo light. I've seen it clog air filters in just a short amount of time.
Some people call that blow-sand which is a bunch different than beach sand.
Well ya'll another great video!!! Rudy you and lizzy had great rescue that was some soft deep dirt to get through. All around great rescues. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun enjoy what ya'll do
I'm so glad I found your channel early this year you guys have delivered yet again another great video/ adventure and can't wait to ride along and see what we're all getting into next, let's go Matt's Off Road Recovery!!
I never get tired of watching your videos!
7:00 - After hearing the deep-throated LS music from the Morrvair© that Jeep sounds like a vacuum cleaner when Lizzie guns it.
Personally I think the Morrvair is a bit too loud, though I agree it has a nice tone, but I belly laughed at vacuum cleaner Jeep ;)
@@edifyguy It *is* too loud for street use. Not a street vehicle, though.
@@winstonsmith313 Not per se, but they do drive it on the road regularly. I wish they'd tame the exhaust on several of their vehicles. Matt seems to be having a mid-life exhaust crisis. :O
@@edifyguy Ha ha! You’ve got a point: I’m glad Matt doesn’t live next door and go tearing out on a rescue at 3:00 am. OTOH, the Morrvair “lives” in an industrial zone and they drive it pretty sedately on the street. So would you if you got 8 mpg.
The most entertaining channel on TH-cam! I enjoy watching very much. Thanks
The Hyundai at the end - I am curious how he ended up where and how he did without doing a barrel roll from off of the bridge.
Most likely spun out on the highway and went into the ditch backwards. Not from directly above the culvert.
@@TViper2369 They mentioned rain so I'm wondering if it was due to hydroplaning.
Modern SUVs are getting harder and harder to roll, for the most part.
I love the sound of the Morvair "at work"!
Unwritten off-roading rule number 1, rentals can do anything.
the damage deposit on a RZR would have you thinking twice about that statement though.
...until they can't...
Reminds me of a guy on my first trip to Moab, his XTERRA broke down right before he left so he rented a truck. The rental f150 on poison spider Mesa was something to see.
I Love your Show. I go to sleep at night watching reruns of episodes hearing familiar voices in my silent home other wise at night. I cant tell you how many times i had dreams about going on Rescue's Hearing your show while i sleep. Very soothing and makes me feel secure like living with family. Ive gone alot of runs via dreams in the last year and a half watching. I guess subconsciously i really enjoyed it. Because i can almost dream riding along on command.
When the country music starts chiming in with the montage, I picture Trevor at the computer saying “que the action music now!” 😂
Or do you mean, Tucker? He is the editor, Trevor is the guy with the crazy beard that does spare tire rodeo's :-)
Good catch, you’re right, it autocorrected me!
That was a great compilation of rescues. That last one, yowzer! How did they even get into that predicament. Hope Rudy is okay that was a heck of a drop and slide
Hey Matt & family, hope you have a very happy thanksgiving! 🦃
The license plate covers are genius!
That is some"SERIOUS POOF DIRT"‼‼
I dont believe I have ever heard of that category of dirt.. thanks for educating us RUDY....LMAO...
LOVE Y'ALL'S VIDEOS.
I hope some day I can make it out there and meet the crew b4 I pass. I was just diagnosed with stage 4 Rectal collo cancer. I'm trying to get out there b4 all my treatments start cause the good lord knows I WILL NOT FEEL LIKE IT AFTERWARDS..LOL..
KEEP DOING WHAT YALL DO.. TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS...
With a handle like road kill, I have no doubt you will hang tough and beat it! God Bless Sir!
@@danstoye3902 well u know they say only the good die young. Which means I'll be around for quite a long time friend...lol...
THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS SIR.
ITS ALL IN THE BIG GUYS HANDS NOW! WHATEVER HE HAS IN STORE FOR ME IM GOOD WITH.. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!!
“Did you see that rail grind?” LOL! Classic. Thanks for that Trevor.
just in case ppl don't understand, Matt went to the axle on the Moorvair instead of hitch, to keep rope angle low, as to not damage the Ground Effects front spoiler on Mustang
those front ends seem to be the weak points on most Side by Sides
Much respect to Rudy and Lizzy
Not so much a week point but what they land on when people launch them over dunes and find nothing but air on the other side. You can only make a ball joint so strong.
@@marvindebot3264 Did you notice the guys hand when Matt asked how it happen. He pretty much did the flying motion lol
@@likeorasgod Yeah that's the thing, no SBS front end will taker that treatment. It's not what they're built for.
Your whole crew brings a smile to me every video. Thank you!!
Yes, Trevor, those of us in south Florida will, in fact, be making fun of you for complaining about the humidity.
And also us here in the other Sunshine State (it says so right on our license plates), Queensland Australia. It's been 98% all day today.
@@marvindebot3264 Out of all my trips to Australia that is the one side I hadn't been to and the others places like Sydney, Malborne, Perth, Broome I can easily compare them to parts of the US (Hell just parts of Texas) when folks ask me what it's like.
I don’t know who came up with the idea to make and use the Matt’s off road license plate, but it’s brilliant. A great way to brand and market your business, AND eliminate the need to edit out the actual vehicle license plate for privacy purposes.
I think it came from the comment section, actually :)
That’s awesome if true.
I've lived in Wisconsin for 42 years and I'm still not use to the humidity lol
So much fun to watch you guys work and love the Moorvair! Lizzy, I love your 4-H shirt too. I spent 10 years in 4-H as a kid. :-)
I think if all the lights in the world went out, Lizzies face would still shine and look happy, what a girl she is.
Sure wish I was in the area. Love Matt and the team. Everybody brings something to the table. I don't know why some folks rag on Lizzy, she's a little sweetie and obviously waaaayyy tougher than she looks. Roping bulls isn't for the weak of heart. She's also getting to be on heckuva welder!
WOW
would be nice if that hyundai had a dash cam ; would love to see how it got where it finally came to a stop
they must of been flying
Great show guys. Rudy and Lizzie good job on the solo run. Matt's taught you both well and you have good instincts. Keep it up. Happy Thanksgiving y'all.
I noticed Lizzy's 4H shirt. I was in 4H as a kid. I wonder how different our experiences were. To me, 4H was about learning how to wire up lamps and use a jig saw -- then summer camp, which was like any other summer camp experience.
The film work on the Mustang rescue was ESPECIALLY good!
Trevor - if you want to brag about "50% humidity" - try talking about the dew point or the heat index instead. This conveys the same information and SOUNDS way more impressive.
using the humidity % is old school and lots of us can relate to that better.
The same percentage at 100 degrees can add close to 20 degrees to the heat index and can push it from "caution" into the "danger zone."
A 50% humidity day in Utah over 100 degrees would be a dew point of 90-97. Which is pretty close (joke intended) to 100% humidity at 90 or 97 degrees.
Heat Index is probably the best choice to get the message across. Dew point is the best choice if you want people to be confused -- and confused people can't make fun of Trevor.
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks.
Good luck to Rudy and his wounded pride, heal fast.
Having the exact same Santa Fe my heart sank watching that ending. They're great vehicles if kept up on.
That first guy got stuck on purpose to meet Matt. Why else would you take a Mustang in the sand?
You would be surprised what people will do.
Needed a shirt, closest store miles away
How about the guy in the Jeep pulling a trailer in that bug-dust, alone, and at night? I am always out riding my quad or dirt bike alone, I just know when to call it quits. One thing that I DO though, is that I carry a Personal Locater Beacon. The places that I ride have poor cell reception.
@@Rat-Builder He said he was going to camp too, Should have just set up the tent and waited it out.
Winter 4x4 jamboree... If I was living in USA I would have been there for sure! I like those kind of societies keeping the trails available to all and it's a great idea to have fun and support them at the same time. Greetings from Italy.
I'm amazed that Hyundai still rolled and steered.
All it did was hit a Michigan pot hole. I don’t get it
Next stop: the junkyard! It's totalled.
Your daughters attitude is contagious, same with all you guys but she fits in well and keeps a good attitude from what you show us. Haha. Keep at it, living the videos.
Matt: "You can ask them why they do what they do."
Trevor: *come again?!*
“Did you see that rail grind?” Loved it!
“Yeah it’s definitely totaled. Where gonna be dragging it over some rocks coming out, but it won’t change whats happened to it hahaha love it!
Rudy and Lizzie work their normal shift,, then do a recovery in the middle of the night till next day got home, hopefully went home to sleep.
When Rudy fell off, dust flew all over, Lizzie just laugh and Trevor recorded it, I was LMBO, Trevor fell off too on a bump but nobody recorded it, there's sometimes sketchy roads and sand dunes that anything can happen.
Keep it up the good work and videos MORR
Hahahah that guy in the mustang stuck in the sand is so me. 🤣🤣😅😅 I always love taking my obviously road going cars into stupid shit. 🤣 In saying that I do it only when on cruises with my mate in his 4x4, more times than not him saying "you know you're not gonna make that right?" Turns out to be sooo damn true but I love trying. 🤣😅
It happens every time with me. If the wife in particular says "There is no way you can make that" Next thing you know, she's out of the vehicle, and I'm proving her right more often than not. 🙄
Good job at Lake Powell Rudy and Lizzy.. that was a tough situation, well handled.
How long does a set of 4 tires last on the Morvair?
Happy Thanksgiving to Matt, Ed and the crew from CenTex.
Love your videos and how you tackle all the recovery situations. Don't know whether it's because I'm a Brit but I've noticed you very rarely remove obstacles on the ground when recovering vehicles. Especially the car in the ravine with a pipe and rocks in the way, you just pull the car straight over!
