- Today I'm looking at what is currently my most anticipated LEGO release of 2024 and both fortunately and unfortunately we get to look at it as early as Feb. Releasing right in time as the new movie, this set immediately caught my attention as it was based on a movie property I love that LEGO themselves deemed inappropriate for it's own audience, and here we are!
The set is beautiful and works wonderfully as a one and done kind of deal but don't be fooled by the outside shell for what you're looking at is actually a Technic set but full fledged with Minifigures. Still, it's a great set that has me almost reconsidering my viewpoint on the Technic theme. Almost.

Technic set with traditional bricks on the outside... that's how they all used to be, before they started using pretty much just fairings all around. I miss those days and the ornithopter really brought me back to them.

Great review. We share many of the same thoughts about this set and the figures. I am not a technic fan at all and a pretty basic builder but I was able to put this together on the first try (although very stressed it would fail at the end) such a cool set and eye catcher on the shelf if you have big enough space

I miss those early days of the X-Box One and PS4 lifecycle and Destiny played a pretty big part in my days of playing the next gen consoles.

I respectfully disagree with your analysis of this being a technical set in disguise. This is as much a technic set as is every large Star Wars set nowadays. What sets this apart is it was designed with the idea of hiding the technic frame elements and adapted to fit minifigs.
