I highly recommend a full brimmed hat for the PCT. It will be hot and sunny the entire way. Even in snow. Your skin is very fair. You need to protect it.
Good video and an interesting hike. There are no Australian funnel-web spiders on the PCT (so that's one less thing to worry about!) but we do have our own version of the funnel web spiders (several species). Ours are not venomous nor likely to bite.
