  • K'Gari- Fraser Island is a must do if you're doing the Lap and haven't been here. It's simply stunning. We test the Defender on the soft inland tracks, move from Dundaburra camp, across the island to Kingfisher Bay and take in Fraser's insanely beautiful inland freshwater lakes. The freshwater lakes are our fave part of this magical location.
This episode we complete our shakeouts and we’re then ready to finally start our Lap of Australia.

Another great episode, thank you for sharing your “away from van” set up, so simple and lightweight. Looks like you had an awesome time on the island. Loved the dingo footage 🐕 😊

Thanks so much for watching and your comment 🙏. Fraser Island is magnificent. As much as we loved the coastal locations like Eli Creek - where the Dingo watched us at the Creek side - I think we liked the serenity of the lakes more. Especially first things in the morning when you are alone. Our away from van set up is intentionally lightweight and quite portable as we don't intend being away from the van too much. Places like Fraser we felt it was best to leave the van on the mainland (plenty of people take their vans up the east coast), places like Purnululu don't allow double axle vans in. The Dingo was just amazing, you have to take so much care, but at that moment he/she was just relaxed and calm and watching out of curiosity.
