Well guys, all good things come to an end. Recently Hackintoshzone announced that they will be shutting down for good, making this video and my Mojave guide obsolete. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but HackintoshZone shutting down is actually good news. Hackintosh experts recommend you always do a vanilla install and never use distros like Niresh/HackintoshZone for security and stability reasons. I mean, look at the laptop you showed in this video. In the end, you already had a bunch of problems. First off, the SMBIOS wasn't configured properly, so you were seeing "iMac" instead of "MacBook Pro/Air" in About This Mac. Next, hardware acceleration wasn't working. This is why About This Mac showed only 4 MB graphics RAM and the dock and other translucent areas looked weird.
Apart from the issues, Niresh distros were found bundled with keyloggers and other malware in the past.
I recommend you check out the guides over at reddit.com/r/hackintosh and try to make a hackintosh by following them. If you succeed, you can make a video demonstrating the correct methods.

@@chrisadomnicai755 , in addition, buy those series up to year 2015 so you can still make changes on components inside. Late 2016 to present macbook pro are sort of disposable or you pay high price for repair due to almost everything inside are soldered to motherboard.

Currently Intel Wifi cards are not supported, so probably use an external wifi dongle or change your wifi card to broadlink

Successfully running Catalina with a dualboot with windows 10 on a Sony Vaio 2013 model.
Intel Core i3
500GB HDD
Intel hd4000 graphics
Internal Wifi card doesn't work on Mac as it's Broadcom... Using an external WIFI USB adapter. Touchpad works great with few touch gestures.
Everything just works fine.
Though I'm having HDD, during installation the preboot changes my MAC OS JOURNAL EXTENDED drive to APFS.
And I can updated to latest version of Catalina 10.15.2.
No problem til now.

It's always not better to test Hackintosh on primary devices. I do have other windows laptop which I bought recently.
I just tested different OS on my secondary old 2013 laptop as I really don't use it much.

Couldn't fix. Called a friend of mine who writes code professionally, and he said there's usually like 1 letter or number wrong in the config.plist file and there's no way to know how to fix it. Look up a config.plist file for your exact build. Hopefully someone else online got it working. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

Using niresh is the idiot way, its full of bugs, security is not really to trust on it and compatibility is worse, just use Olarila or make your own vanilla installer, is not that hard

@Abott Costa It's is not obvious for the most people. An Intel CPU doesn't guaranty that the other chips on the motherboard will work. In my case I manage to install MACOS to my PC after many trial and error but nothing works, no USB ports, no Ethernet, nothing.
@@iFlipProjects For most people is not obvious. Most people think that MAC OS will work smoothly after they install it the way you show in the video. The truth is that 99% of cases even if it works , there will be an incompatible hardware part that will make the whole PC worthless.

You can do a vanilla install with opencore, you get more freedom with the install but it requires more time and preparation and a few skills

It can mount them just as easily as dmg files...
Extract the iso and put the files on the root of the usb

Don't follow this guide. This is not a vanilla install, go to instanelymac.com for proper installation.
Btw, you are stuck at endrandomseed because you have the wrong drivers on /EFI/CLOVER/drivers/UEFI

If you want to do anything more than a simple installation, you should hack it together yourself. It's not that hard nowadays.

Be careful - if you follow this guide installing a third party distro (like Niresh) you run the risk of downloading an image that contains malware and not being able to update macOS - Do it the right way and use gibMacOS to download straight from Apple.

it depends on the model of laptop, if you have an intel WIFI chip, it will not work with Mac OS, you will need a compatible USB wifi adapter, or you will need to get the proper card and kexts to use it, also you will need to modify the DSDT

jason crigger Except MacOS comes with the benefits of the Apple ecosystem. A lot of people on the internet already know what Linux is, Linux is good I’ve tried it & it is the building blocks for MacOS but Linux isn’t MacOS. I replied in bold text for emphasis, it really shouldn’t matter whether I did or didn’t. I just wanted to emphasise that he wanted to try MacOS.
jason crigger Linux is free because it’s open source. MacOS isn’t open source, that may be a downside or not but imo, I don’t care.
And if MacOS is built off of Unix then you’d assume that Linux *is* the building blocks for MacOS. And MacOS is great, it’s amazing with trackpad gestures, optimisation & of course the Apple ecosystem. There’s a lot more to MacOS than just Unix, I’d highly encourage you to at least try out MacOS or at the very least research it. If anything, you’re the one who needs a little bit more education.
jason crigger Yes, MacOS is built off of a branch of Linux but Linux can’t do everything MacOS can by default:
-can’t work with Apple’s AirDrop
-can’t work with Apple’s Continuity features (Handoff, unlock with Apple Watch, Sidecar, Continuity Markup and Sketch, SMS texts from your iPhone on your Mac, Phone on Mac, Continuity Camera, Universal Clipboard, Apple Pay & Instant Hotspot. www.apple.com/macos/continuity/ here’s more info on them)
-can’t work with Apple’s specifically optimised pro apps (Logic Pro/Final Cut Pro)
-it doesn’t even have a native iTunes/Apple Music app
-can’t work with Apple’s Keychain (You can bring up other Keychain services but all the others I can think off are either paid for or technically free but you have to pay to get all the features)
-can’t work with iMessage (one of the big reasons why people stick with Apple)
You could make the case that you could tinker Linux a lot to get those features but then you’ll most likely have a crudely put together OS which is nowhere near as good or coherent as the real thing. It’ll most likely feel like MacOS in it’s pre-beta stage. And the point of MacOS is for it to just work anyway.
And on a side note:
-I’ve heard from others that Linux’s file system is much slower than MacOS’s or even Windows. I’ve not experienced this but then again, I’ve only briefly used Linux on an old Core Duo MacBook I had lying around
-Linux app support still isn’t nearly as good as MacOS. Although it’s getting better, it’s still not good enough for MacOS’s standards.

Installed on a HP 840 G1. Everything worked great except the WiFi
The laptop? I wanted to try Niresh Catalina but a lot of people warned me that, since it's been modified, it could include malware and spyware. After a lot of researching, I decided to do a vanilla install and it's been working great so far! Now I just need to replace the WiFi card....
You have to enable the Wifi in the install options
For it worked only after formatting the hdd as Mac os extended journaled, use only if you have an old hdd and not ssd
Very valid point which no one is discussing. In the video I think he forgot to mention that he has already formatted his Samsung EVO as macOS partition format.

At the time of installation can we use external usb drive to actually install macOS on that usb drive, as I have windows 10 installed on original hard disk of my PC. If I am able to install on second external USB, what is the minimum size required for such an external USB ?

if you have windows on other partition it will not work, they use different format
I do have dualboot windows 10 and Catalina on the same 500GB HDD with 250gb for each OS.
I installed Catalina on the seperate partition, where I already have windows 10 running on the other partition.
Windows 10 supports NTFS or exfat format where as Mac supports APFS (for SSDs), MAC OS EXTENDED JOURNAL (HDD).
Running both OS successfully with clover bootloader.
And you can read only the other partition files in Mac. Like you can copy files from windows drive to Mac. But in Windows you cannot see the Mac partition in the File explorer. It can be visible from the Create and format harddisk partitions.

Mark you shouldn’t use this method. It is worst method as this modified version of macOS that is riddled with spyware and viruses you don’t want. Instead make a “Vanila” Opencore Hackintosh it’s not that hard and make your pc run like a real Mac! (If you maintain the opencore EFI)

Also how is it “done”, your graphics shows 4mb, you don’t have any igpu acceleration, and does your sound even work? No sound icon in menu bar.
I picked up on this too. No post-installation shots of the system working. I think this is a very long-winded way of installing vanilla but then you have to go ahead and find all your kexts and patches manually, meaning you might as well do it the normal way and find all your kexts beforehand.
I can determine from this video, the following probably doesn't work:
Wifi, Being dell and not an XPS will be an intel wifi chip
Graphics aren't set properly, it is using a FAKEPCCID just to finish the install
Sound - Although it does not show sound in the bar, it doesn't by default but there was no mention of voodoohda or the audio kext for his codec
Siri was greyed out meaning that isn't enabled so I am going to guess iMessage and facetime do not work.
Still a lot of work to go into this imo.
That being said, for the interest of "Science" I am going to try it out on one of my laptops.
As suspected, tried this method on an HP spectre (Broadwell 2015) and getting kernel panics.

Ive done this many times on many computers..its Not easy as its portrayed here....often,after u install, it will not boot and there is kernel panic or u get to desktop but there is no wifi,no sound and no hardware acceleration for video...then it becomes a matter of finding the right kexts or missing drivers and editing the boot config list ect ect...if u are lucky it may work or u will need to spend alot of time researching and studying how to create a working hackentosh for Your particular pc model... even though working premade images and efi's Could be shared, hardly ever does anyone do so..Wgy? becuz those who have a working hackentosh have put untold hrs of work and study into creating a working system and honestly dont want to just hand u a perfectly working image for ur particular pc...they Will advise you and point you in the direction where You can find the info, but they expect You to do the work and if you want it bad enough, u will..the info on how to is out there... a "vanilla" install takes study and research and seldom is as easy as downloading a vanilla image like niresh and hoping it just works 100% off the bat... u may get lucky but usually lots of fine tuning needed.

How did you end up fixing the wifi?
Usually you have to take the laptop apart and replace the internal Wifi chip with a Mac OS compatible one.
Just buy USB Wi-Fi adapter that's compatible

Yeah...both date and time...if you using a PC then change that small battery in motherboard...or in laptop change your bios date and time..

exit the terminal, restart the system and continue with the installation.
