Not hating or trying to be a smart ass but... Ford in Europe have been making really good engines for lots of years, the little CVH in the '80s with it's hydraulic tappits and overhead cam, the Zetec is a great motor with huge potential. (850hp from a 2.0 turbo!) The Duratec and the Ecoboost have been here for years as well and they both have massive potential. It just seems to me that the USA market didn't want or demand that technology until recently, fuel used to be cheap and V8's are cool!
I am from Britain! I was trying to point out all the really good smaller engines that Ford (an AMERICAN company) have made for years that were not available in America.
@DetroitDieselBob Detroit diesels are the best made. The 5.7 litre (which is this one) 6.2 litre and 6.5 litre. Why I love the one in my caddy, i blew the crank last night, but repaired it, now im driving it again. They are such good motors they just keep going especially the 5.7 litre GM
And Honda was making 2.0L N/A engines putting out 247hp 12 years ago. Porsche make a 500hp 4.0L N/A flat 6, just to bring the Germans into the equation. I know HP isn't everything but you started it ;)
The Honda Civic SI has a 2.4L that puts out 201hp. I'm not saying it never happened, but that's what they have today. But either way, whats your point? I never said that other brands are incapable of making good engines, all I was saying is that certain domestic brands (namely Ford IMO) have been making leaps in technology, catching up with other, foreign brands; so what exactly did I start?
german cars are meant to have class and be smooth but when you modify them like brabus for example it ends up in a 800hp 1400nm monster and it could go way further...
@Turbo617 also i think a head gasket takes about half an hr to do blowing his shit is just part of putting on a good show...u obv have never experianced the power of a diesel....go get a 300sd take the mufflers off and put a cone directly on the turbo...these engines are one of the best engines ever made 500k no problem
Ford has a naturally aspirated 5.0L engine putting out 443hp. Thats a ton of hp for that little of displacement, and I'm willing to put down money is as good as any German engine out there. I admit they have some good technology, but we are catching up. I mean look at the new F150's, the Ecoboost has direct injection and twin turbos, something usually only found on high end luxury cars. We're getting there. Not a Ford fanboy, they are just utilizing new technology while GM and Chrysler are not.
This is nice, but still, NOTHING BEAT CUBIC INCHES. American V8 has everything that Euro/Asian motors don't have. Bigger the engine, bigger the power what you made out of it. Simple :) And it's more reliable than little engines with big horsepowers.
Don't get me wrong, I like European cars as much as anyone else, I've just always been a guy to cheer for the home team, whether in sports or cars. So if I see that a domestic brand is doing something fairly impressive, I'm going to have some American pride and brag a little bit, I don't mean to offend anyone.
@DetroitDieselBob It's just the right thing to put something good in something so bad, like this hot rod. You americans have not made anything great after 60's..You need whole buch of litres to make the same bunch of horsepowers what germans do with only 2 or 3 litres.
You put money on a Ford 5.0L being as good as any German engine out there with the only qualifier identified as HP/L. I replied with a motor that has far more HP/L. I don't see how it isn't relevant or how my point was missed. You started talking about HP/L. It was a flippant comment hence the ";)", like a joke you see. The start of that sentence states HP isn't everything, implying that the Ford donk could very well be all the bit as good, but not when it comes to HP/L.
@DetroitDieselBob ........ 4.6? Of all the motors Ford made, you use the 4.6 as an example. Yeah, we made a ZR-1. Sure, even the V6 mustangs are making 300 hp nowadays. However, the germans are shitting on us, dude. By the way, neither the LS6 or the 4.6l is going to do shit to a Mercedes V12. Sorry, man, I love our country, but damn if the Germans aren't outdoing us.
wheel alignment looks perfect
Blowing out head gasket is always fun stuff!
Love the b16 why is it smoking?
Den förvandlades till en Briggs&Stratton @ 41 sekunder, lol.

jävligt skillat å ha ihjäl en merca diesel! hade säkert gått i en taxibil innan me typ 100-120k mil?
@kcvous Yes it is, but what happened ?
@MsMalcolm88
May be pistons through the block, or pistons rings damaged....
@DetroitDieselBob Yes you are, because this is a 5.7 litre GM diesel, hence the blowing up noise it made.
that is really cool!
but sounds strange in the seconds stage of the vid?
tror den förlorade laddet turbo slang elelr något hoppa kanske skulle det vara cylinder skulle den låtta som en konserv burk

Old Skool Oreo cookie!!!!!!
the merc v12s are very very heavy for a performance engine.... and about twice twice the size of an ls....
@LovesToDrift 4.6 is solid but not worth talking about the modular engine is being phased out
I am from Britain! I was trying to point out all the really good smaller engines that Ford (an AMERICAN company) have made for years that were not available in America.
MY LOVE IS MERCEDES.
I LOVE YOU MY LIFE ¡¡¡¡¡
@DetroitDieselBob Detroit diesels are the best made. The 5.7 litre (which is this one) 6.2 litre and 6.5 litre. Why I love the one in my caddy, i blew the crank last night, but repaired it, now im driving it again. They are such good motors they just keep going especially the 5.7 litre GM
@tommysbrowncaddy there is filter
Yes you can here a piston or something let go and it was only running on a few cylinders after that.. shame. i love the Benz Diesels.
It's broken at 0:40
@LovesToDrift what about the new gt500 probably going to be the best bang for your buck
@postmann1000 ingen skam, improvement kalles det :)
Sounded like it blew a head gasket or something.
@unclewilly2 Ithink he blew up a Cylinder head gasket.
hot road v12 diesel Brasil @
Number of cylinders doesn't really mean a thing, hp and torque do.
Roll center

never heard a deisel rev that high that wasnt a runaway lol
German engineering is next-to-none

@unimogman404 You spelled loser wrong. And yes, I do have a zit problem.
german cars are meant to have class and be smooth but when you modify them like brabus for example it ends up in a 800hp 1400nm monster and it could go way further...
mercedes diesel e320 sedan. 370 ft lbs torque.
From 41sec on it has a problem. I build racing and pulling diesels and I can tell what a diesel is supposed to sound like, that is not it. :-)
sounds like he broke it
He did
Only the head gasket
@Turbo617 also i think a head gasket takes about half an hr to do blowing his shit is just part of putting on a good show...u obv have never experianced the power of a diesel....go get a 300sd take the mufflers off and put a cone directly on the turbo...these engines are one of the best engines ever made 500k no problem
@Turbo617 wasted power is what its about having more than u need thats the diesel way....nimrod
they are not outdoing us by much 1960 Peterbilt Hotrod Truck called Piss'd Off Pete
Way to destroy it w/ no filter

The 5.7 liter gm diesel can handle any turbo.
tenk og ødlege en ford tudor med en mercedes motor, en skamm.
i was wrong u need a valve job now my friend
I love you for this comment. But on one note at least Dodge is letting Fiat revamp their shit interior lol. Which is huge in my book.
he broke the engine aahahahahahahahah
@tommysbrowncaddy he can, burn, shoot, crash, sink,or piss on that car cause he made it...
preston at 0:29
buahahah it got damaged
well the germans invented all the engines cars use and the car also,so it would be wierd if they wouldnt make good engines or cars.
This is nice, but still, NOTHING BEAT CUBIC INCHES. American V8 has everything that Euro/Asian motors don't have. Bigger the engine, bigger the power what you made out of it. Simple :) And it's more reliable than little engines with big horsepowers.
@LovesToDrift there is nothing to be ashamed of,because the germans invented the car and all the engines that go on cars.
uuu diesel noooo!!
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Don't get me wrong, I like European cars as much as anyone else, I've just always been a guy to cheer for the home team, whether in sports or cars. So if I see that a domestic brand is doing something fairly impressive, I'm going to have some American pride and brag a little bit, I don't mean to offend anyone.
yes, u can tell by how shitty it runs
I'm afraid it's about HP, as without that, you have no torque.
Plus, who needs V8's when you have BOOST?
@DetroitDieselBob It's just the right thing to put something good in something so bad, like this hot rod. You americans have not made anything great after 60's..You need whole buch of litres to make the same bunch of horsepowers what germans do with only 2 or 3 litres.
lsx motors are better than any german motor

@DetroitDieselBob Hot rods are shit.
