Yea and it was really bad application using a knife to cut the tape. Instead of taking strips of the tape for the barrel, just getthe tape stuck onto the barrel at 1 point and scroll the tape slowly down whilst pulling the polythene thing and applying the tape as best as possible. For the water hose , just straighten it first then apply the tape not just casually wrap in vertically around with gaps and hoping the tape to hold all the pressure. Really amateur application.
It doesn't properly work because 1. You didn't saw the bucket in the camera neither did you shout "THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE!!" 2. You didn't slap it hard

For the barrel test/boat test he put flex tape on both sides, this is important bc most of the pressure will be held by the tape that's being pressed by the pressure itself which essentially helps bind the tape to the boat.

I used a 3”x3” square to patch a hole in my pool liner. I put it on from the inside, under water and it worked like a charm! It’s been there for two years now and still no leaks. I also used it to patch my sweeper hose together after it split completely in half and it’s been working great for a few months now as well. Great product!

The leaks are coming through creases on the tape that were made when you applied it unevenly. It doesn't matter if you got wakandan vibranium tape, if you apply it wrong then it will always leak. The only real failure on the product's part was when it gave out under the water pressure of the hose and barrel. Besides that, it performed as advertsed.
No hate or anything but you need to let it bond for a more permanent fix. Also in the commrcial they used the tape on both sides when fixing a boat.(sry for bad english :P)

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it already but when Phil taped the boat he put tape on both sides. I know that wasn't possible with the barrel but it may be a reason for the failure

I feel like the hose pressure test could have been more thorough since I feel like it failed suspiciously fast. Also, when you taped the barrel back together, I'd like to point out that Phil used multiple layers of flex tape for his boat.
Multiple layers dont add water retention strength. Its more that this application was way more sloppy but also the boat thing is definitely fake since just the weight and force applied to the boat when going around with have the flex tape tear appart.

If you read the directions, it says to wait 24 hours for maximum hold. In had the tape hold vinal on my car as a temporary fix for a broken window. It stayed all winter and most of the summer. Most of the tape is still adhered and the vinyl started falling apart

Flex tape works best on smooth clean non-porous surfaces. It’s not intended to hold a lot of pressure. Just fix a lot of damage!

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it already but when Phil taped the boat he put tape on both sides. I know that wasn't possible with the barrel but it may be a reason for the failure

Having used this tape I can vouch for the fact that yes it will stop the leak but temporarily! It is certainly not a permanent fix by any means!

I feel like the hose pressure test could have been more thorough since I feel like it failed suspiciously fast. Also, when you taped the barrel back together, I'd like to point out that Phil used multiple layers of flex tape for his boat.
Multiple layers dont add water retention strength. Its more that this application was way more sloppy but also the boat thing is definitely fake since just the weight and force applied to the boat when going around with have the flex tape tear appart.
@@maximer7076 Phil taped both sides of the boat. Inside Edition also did the boat test and it nearly worked with one layer. The boat had about an inch of water when they returned to the dock after a while on the lake.

If you read the directions, it says to wait 24 hours for maximum hold. In had the tape hold vinal on my car as a temporary fix for a broken window. It stayed all winter and most of the summer. Most of the tape is still adhered and the vinyl started falling apart
