All these tape have absolutely different purposes. For example, gorilla tape is armored so it is very strong, but it doesn't stretch, so it can't hold the water. Flex Tape is not armored, but it stretches very well, so it can hold the water. It's like comparing a tomato and an orange.

Also going to 75 kg straight away rather than going from 45k, + 10kg, +20kg isn't fair for the previous tapes as they had to hold First 45kg which stretched the tape already and made it weaker then +10kg also made it weaker, while the last tape was in its full strength to hold 75kg, even if just for a short duration.

Obviously the designers chose that width for reasons. I think it would be a more fair test to find comparative tapes at four inch widths instead of altering the original product. The tape is already being stretched out in earlier lifts, so to compare the already worn Gorilla tape to the fresh T-Rex tape doesn't prove anything in this test, all this test proves is that they both function better than the Flextape when all are 2 inches in width.

Also depending on how it was cut, it might be weaker than if it was sold at 2 inches wide. Also testing flex tape that has been stretched by the weights with gorrilla/trex tape that has just been applied isn't a fair test. The outcome would probably be the same if you held each up for say, half an hour, but holding them up for just a few minutes, a fresh strap of flex tape probably could've done better.

You need to add new tape on each pull. The stress from the previous pulls matters. Also I hope you cleaned the PVC in between. If not then the residue from the prior tapes is what you are attaching to. Also there is a difference between the tape ripping and slipping. One is more a measure of the adhesive while the other is about the strength of the materials.

He tested the flex tape three times to slowly make the flex tape slip, then started the others at the last weight not the three weights, which gives an advantage. Plus he didn’t need to cut the flex tape in half, that’s what it comes in so you test it in that, it just gave flex tape a disadvantage. I love the vids tho man👍🏻
When talking about the strength of tape there are 2 separate things to consider. 1- the strength of the adhesive and 2- the strength of the material the adhesive is on. The strongest material may not always be backed by the strongest adhesive.
You used the gorilla tape for varying weights before hand, had you put the 75lb on a fresh bit of gorilla tape rather than a “used/preworn” piece it probably would have gone longer than the t-rex tape probably snapped still but i reckon it would if held. Just my observations thou.

hey, you've got some really great videos. But I think the reason you're not getting any traction is that they are too diverse. I think if you pick one style of video or thing to talk about your channel will take off.
You should just get a strain gage and make your anchor solid and then pull till it breaks. It's safer and easier way to do what your doing. Just a thought.
do you reapply between adding weight? It would be an unfair comparison of holding 50, 60, 70, 75, 80 to holding 80 as there would be stress from the 50, 60, 70, 75 and 80 on the first and only the stress of the 80 on the second..... New vs old.
I've people mention how the same piece of tape is used multiple times and I agree with that, but what about the speed of which he lifts the weight(s), because sometimes he lifted the weight(s) faster than other times. an example being test 1 and how flex tape is lifted slower than gorilla tape, but I don't know, it's just an idea I thought about as I watched this video (which was still interesting to watch).

For example, when you were testing the Gorilla tape you spent quite a bit of time talking about how you were going to add 10 pounds, how you added 10 pounds, and how you thought it would do. That's all fine but it took way too long.

I guess a more thorough test would have been to use a New strip of tape between each weight. The stretch from the previous test can affect the next.

Adding 10kg + a chain to 45kg doesn't equal to 55kg, It would equal more since the chain has it's weight too, you forgot to mention that.
I think a pulley system is unfair because it could have had a better chance with it being heled just above the edge but this did challenge it. :)

flex tape is king for holding in water all other tapes when under water pressure breaks first. each tape has strength and weakness
Trex held longer because it hadn't been tested as long as Gorilla. Starting it at 75lbs makes it no longer a 1:1 comparison
