The things you put yourself through to entertain us.....thank heavens! Tent stood up well. You need a "pee bottle".....saves going outside in the wind, rain, snow, etc., if you want a wee wee during the night! Great video.

Brutally honest video, it's certainly true that there are trekking days when one can ask more than once what the heck I'm doing here now... but these moments provide also often quite unforgettable memories that can make you laugh (once proper amount of time have passed, and you're having a sip of proper whisky in your easy chair in front of a fireplace...) @@SummitOrNothing Happy New Year to you and yours..it's a bit grim today so staying in and packing for our Lakes trip next week. Looking forward to more of your videos. x
A lot of cutting for you in editing 🤣 good video mate. Good spot for camping, I remember my camping in South Downs, so windy and no cover for my naturehike, love to camp on hill tops
Haha! Yea, I do mumble and tut and umm and urrr quite a bit lol.... It was the best spot up there to be fair - quite a windy night. Cheers for watching!
I can think if a few things better lol. But yeah, even when it's sh*t it's a good adventure. Looking forward to getting back out again soon. Cheers for watching and happy new year!
Nice going Trev for sticking it out. The way I look at it is that we need the crap nights to appreciate the good ones even more. All the best for the New Year bud. ATB Andy
Thanks Kev - there's plenty of other bad weather camp vids on our channel if you havent already seen them, and plenty more to come no doubt. Thanks for watching!
This is one of the funniest channels, and he's not even trying to be funny, I keep expecting awful things to happen but he obviously knows what he's doing, great work 👍
Enjoyed that, Trev! And you’re right..some people might not understand why we subject ourselves to this kind of conditions but they will also never know the satisfaction it brings & the brilliant effects to your mental health until they experience it. All the best, Mari
Yeah, I don't know how helpful this particular adventure was to my mental health, but I know what you mean haah! Thanks for watching, Mari - all the best!
Enjoyed that. Really reminds me of a crap night sleep I had on a slope on the North Downs this summer. Like yourself, I remember questioning WHY do I do this?! Haha. Thanks for sharing and ATB - Ben - aka Londoner Outdoors.👍⛺️🔥
Hahaha! Yea, I question myself every time whilst I am out on the hill, but as soon as I am walking back, I am thinking where do I go next lol. Thanks for watching, Happy New Year!
Morning Trev mate, really good to see you out again, that's commitment right there booooiii... I reckon that meal would of been ok, 2 weeks out of date and freeze dried would of been fine mate. Enjoyed this one, I think I've got the same beanie as you too 😁 Elf on the bloody shelf!! Grrr, rrrr. Cool man, see ya on the 11th Jan? Lee
Cheers for watching, Lee. My hat has lost all the elasticity already, bloody old rubbish, and yea I'm sure that meal would have been alright bit if anyone is gonna get I'll from food it's me,and the idea of having to trek back with onset food poisoning scared the shit out of me hahah. All the best Lee. See you in the Brecon Beacons chap! Looking forward to it!
A few strips of anti-slip carpet gripper works a treat, weights nothing, better still just bin camping when the weathers bad especially as you have zero 4 season camping gear .atb
just found your channel... you have a new subscriber! Oke Tor is my go to place for a quick overnighter. i usually camp up on the tor itself, between the rocks... there is a bit of a plateau surrounded on three sides so gives good shelter in the wind.
I use one of those reflective windscreen covers underneath my air mat, silver side up. Placed some of that carpet anti-slip pad on top of it to stop the mat slipping. Like you I use thermal long johns and top plus those wooly thermal bed socks. With my wooly hat I look like a ninja if I have to get up in the middle of the night to answer natures call.
That sounds like a great idea with the windscreen cover, I did see Radiator insulation in Lidl the other day that I thought looked half decent, but as is always the case with things I see in Lidl, I didn't get it at the time and now have to wait until next time it arrives in store. Thanks for watching, and all the best for 2020!
You need to get in all your layers before you get cold, they keep the warm in they won't create any extra warmth if you're already frozen... do some push up's in the tent, or some star jumps before you get in is good to get a boost of body heat. Also, get in the bag and eat your food, the warm food and digestion will also warm you up a bit. Happy new year Trev, keep up the good work.
Yea I usually do sit ups when I'm in the tent. Find that layering as I go does make a difference though, to be honest. That was advice I found in several places before and it works for me. Cheers for watching, Ian. All the best!
I enjoyed following this one, Trev and thanks again for the shoutout. I am sorry I didn't get the meal to you sooner. Straightlining across the moor and endless nights in confinement... Just like in the early days! I suffer the same with inflatable mats that slide all over the place. Robin Wallace recommend an anti-slip mat to me. It's Ikea's 'Stopp' but you could probably find something else in a DIY store. It does help, can be cut with scissors and weighs very little. Hope you're having a great Christmas, all the best for 2020.
No worries, Olly. I am sure the meal would have been fine, I still have it, so will give it a go I think - the consensus seems to think it will be ok. I will have to try to get the bedding situation sorted this year, its driven me mad, so will keep my eyes peeled for the anti-slip matting. Having a great Christmas, cheers, Olly - hope you are too. Catch you in the new year. Trev!
aaaaaaaaah Trev. An old skool Vid. Enjoyed this very much. A nice little retrospect to the year and obligatory shite weather. Next year I’ll cook you Christmas dinner on the trail. But. Sooner than later we have to get out.
Yes yes yes and yes Thom. I'll hold you to that for next year and looking forward to catching up at long last. Hope you had yourself a good Christmas bud. All the best!
Really enjoyed this Trev while toasties warm at home. Jk Your a inspirational in what you do especially at this time of year. Looks like the Cloud up can stand up to some strong winds, I'm thinking of getting one for the west highland way next year. All the best for Christmas & New Year 🥃🥃
Hahah! Yeah, a great tent, but must admit that having that additional rope on the back end had made all the difference, though Steve! Thanks for watching, and enjoy the rest of the festivities!
@@SummitOrNothing what weight is the Cloud up 2? At the moment I only have a Mountain Hardwear Trango 3 which weights 6kg bit heavy I think for a 96 mile trek
@@stevewoods9661 I think it's about 1.7kg. Loads of room for one person. Check out one of my reviews for the weight, the lanshan comparison vid has the weight I'm sure.
Love camping in the rain and wind but what I'm really looking forward to is snow as soon as its forecast snow for north UK I'll be packing my kit lol GS on video mate 👏⛺☔
Trev another awesome video, you're braver than me. I had the same issue with a sliding sleep pad, I'm not sure if you've seen any of melon bites videos but he gave a great tip to put a few dots of silicone sealant on the bottom of the pad. This worked really well for me I used bathroom sealant about ten dots, this along with my trekology alpha 2 pillow which has a strap has helped stop me sliding around. I also put my spare base layer over the pad as well. Keep up the great work
Ah, thats not a bad idea, a bit of silicone to help it stick - another one to try. Thanks for your comment, and for watching, Paul. All the best for 2020!
Air Matt, then reflectix, then foam matt layer inside your bivvy. Ear buds or a good podcast and some sippin whisky. Read one of Guy Martin's books during a night up on the moors! Passing time on them long December nights.
Yea, I need to sort the bedding out - so plenty of food for thought in the comments here. I had some rum, had a copy of Into the Wild to read and listened to A Christmas Carol - so plenty to take my mind off the slow passing of time. Cheers for watching!
Hi, I randomly came across your channel and this was the 1st vlog I watched and a subscribe was easy. I myself am getting into wild camping this year in the lake district to coinside with my photography. And like yourself will be documenting it for TH-cam. I look forward to seeing more of you uploads.
Oh boi and i tought im the only one weighting my gascanisters and writing it on them :D ... woah wait a sec i didnt know you can just shove the nature hike tent just up there... i always roll mine up lol and i learned something thank you will save me a lot of time :D
I have Cloud up 1, the cheapest made with polyester. Haven't used it in bad weather yet. For price it's very good quality. And you get footprint included. My main complaint is lack of pegs. You must buy extra like mentioned in video. Bought my extra pegs from Wish. Better than included with tent.
Happy new year Trev, can’t wait for this years videos an your trip of a lifetime, big love to the Mrs an the kids I managed too get out this week for wild hammock/tarp camp with my youngest an toasted marshmallows under a cloudless chilly night over the new bushbox lf they bought me for Xmas 🌲🌲🔥
Now that sounds like a right good night, Ray. Keep meaning to try one of those bushboxes myself, and my hammock 🤣🤣 Happy new year to you and your family, Ray, thanks for all your support.
To sleep well I need ear plugs, a sleeping bag rated well below the temps I expect (because sleeping bag companies lie) an inflatable matt on top of my sleeping matt and feet warmers in the bag. But the weather looked really challenging. Thanks.
Hi, Trev. I'm brand-new to your channel (liked and subscribed). Thanks for enduring this kind of punishment doled out by Mother Nature to bring your viewing audience some very useful information and gear to help survive it. A belated Merry Christmas and an early Happy New Year to you and yours, and I look forward to viewing more of your videos in the New Year. Cheers.
Thanks very much - i hope you enjoy all that you find - going into the 4th year now so looooooads of content for you to catch up on in the meantime. Many thanks for watching, Happy New Year!
I’m way past my wildcamping days but watching your video brought good (and not so great) memories back of the ups and downs of it. Good sleeping kit is important. As you showed, broken and uncomfortable sleep is a nightmare, esp. on longer treks. Wears you down, however fit you are. I’m enjoying your channel, found it a few months ago so lots more to catch up on. Good luck.
Great video validating the budget Naturehike tent which I own as well. Other reviews predicted it would never hold up through any kind of storm but obviously it can. Thanks for the vid !!
Its a great tent... it actually outperformed the MSR Elixir in this video of ours when hit with near 60mph winds th-cam.com/video/8KiqJ1W4lsE/w-d-xo.html
Hi Trev. Enjoyed this. Just to say I base camped from 20th to 27th December in Peak District. Weather was dismal. Kind of wish I"d taken the cloud up tent I won from you. Looks like it faired rather better than the tent I took (I went bigger as I took the dog). Actually spent four days in shower block as tent was hopeless for me personally. Anyway, just to ssy I used the down bag inside a 3 season bag and was toasty. Loved the mat. Used the nature hike mat and another similar strapped together with foam mat underneath, plus a wool blanket. Very comfy. I like your videos because you show the rough with the smooth. Camping ain't always a barrel of laughs. And yet we do it! I've been doing it for years (I'm 58) I hope to keep going until I can't. I've had some disasters, but seen some views and met some wonderful people. I fell over twice on this trip...that was before the rhubarb gin! Glad to be back in my bed though! I'll take the cloud up out in a week or too. Happy New Year to you and yours. Netta
Oh, hi Netta! Good job for making the effort to get out though, although I am sorry to hear that it wasn't very successful. Glad that the down bag came in handy! Yeah, the tent did ok, but as I mentioned in the video, I have tied another guy rope to the back window which has given substantial additional support, I recommend doing the same, there should be enough extra guy ropes in the pack though! As with my videos, I always show both sides, and have never professed to be a professional in any sense, I just do this because I enjoy it and love that it encourages others to get out and do it too. All the best, happy new year and stay safe on your travels!
@@SummitOrNothing It was successful because the Peaks are gorgeous. Lovely people too. Keep doing what you are doing. Its a great thing, and good not to edit out the tough bits. Wild xamping and hiking can be tough. I wish more young people would have a bash...it teaches resiliency and confidence in ones own ability. Women are always quiet fearful of solo camping, which seems a great pity to me. Its good for the soul and one pretty quickly learns respect for nature. Good on you! Ps...the nature hike bag is also brilliant gor slotting a mat and sleeping pad in to stop things moving about!
@@collisjeanette1019 I have yet to visit the peak District, so maybe this year, and I quite agree about how good camping and hiking is for mind body and soul. I can't wait to see where 2020 takes me.
Love it Trevor, I’ve watched a few of your reviews on different equipment the past few days and I’m hoping to get to Dartmoor myself soon and see this pop up, so thought I’d watch and see, all I can say is I watched every minute of this and you had me laughing out loud 🤣 which isn’t easy to do so thanks bud, and cheers for the video. George 👍🏻😂 oh and I just subscribed buddy cheers again!
Brilliant! Really glad that you enjoyed this video... not that its a comedy or nothing though 😂 Thanks for watching, hope you reach Dartmoor before too long! Cheers!
The dreaded white finger! I get that when it’s cold, it’s a right pain in the butt. Anyway did you know about the Dartmoor ghost like the hairy hands that get white finger.
Packaged meals are still ok for sometime after its best by date. It seems to me that you enjoy raw nature when it's playing up lol! I love camping but not being THAT cold in the wind and rain.. But it's makes a good video and memory stored in your brain!
Hi Vanessa, yeah, I have still got tht emeal, so I will brave it next time I am out. Thanks for watching, and glad that you enjoy seeing me suffer haha. Happy New Year!
@@SummitOrNothing yeah, it's a 'best before' suggestion rather than a 'use by' date, so it'll be safe for months or years, just not taste quite as good possibly :)
Brilliant Trev, just started watching your channel and hope to get out soon too Hiking and wild camping. Very inspiring and a good laugh to watch with your personality. Keep up the awesome work mate..
Cheers for watching, glad that you enjoyed it. I do take a book and download stuff in Netflix to watch whilst camping, just don't bother filming as it tends not to make very good video haha. Take it easy and thanks for watching!
here's me expecting to see you at the Oscars for best supporting actor 😂😂😂😂😂 spent the day a few years ago fishing from the rock that juts out in the inlet, nice part of the country, must say tho prefer it further down coast anywhere from st-austell down on both side gets my thumbs up 👍👍👍👍
Wow that sounds like quite a trip. You should manage to see most of it in that time I should think. Good luck with that, and thanks for watching! All the best and happy 2020!
Hi Trev, Have you tried putting your sleeping mat inside of your bivvy bag. I use a ex military bivvy bag and my mat and sleep system all fits inside it no problem . It solves the problem of rolling off your mat during the night. Give it a try and see how you get on. Keep them coming ,Cheers Alex.
Someone suggested that before, Alex, and I completely forgot until I was on my way home. It had been too long since I'd been out. Thanks for watching. Happy Christmas.
@@SummitOrNothing I find if I put sleeping mat inside my sleeping bag, I roll off the mat, and then end up upside down and kinda stuck, bit like a tortoise on it's back :-)
Two years on from the Bleak House camp! One thing that hasn't changed is the long nights. You need to take someone to talk to Trev and the time will fly by! ATVB for 2020! Graham
Yea, it would be better with a spo of company, but there is something liberating about a solo camp too. Thanks for watching, Graham, hope you have had a great Christmas, and all the best for 2020!
Great vid! I have eaten those dehydrated meals many months past their date and they were fine. Well apart from the few times I woke up to find I’d shit my pants in my sleep.
Excellent video, I live on Dartmoor so this is literally on my stomping ground. I’m often out wild camping but I have to confess I’m not a great fan of the colder nights at my age 😂🤪
Great vid. Too dark for too long for me. Roll on April. As said below, try putting the roll mat inside the bivvi bag. Also use a shirt/jumper to secure a pillow to the roll mat. (Shove the pillow inside the front of the jumper) it helps stop slipping and sliding
Nice one mate. I've been there myself - stuck in a blowing tent on an endless dark and wet night. It's always good to see the true reality of some wild camps. Keep the faith :)
This reminds me of a night I had once on sheeptor, I was so tired the next day I just went to sleep in all my wet clothes when I got home! It was similar weather and I was on a slope too lol. Well done for sticking it out. Have you done cullver steps? It’s flat and slightly sheltered, and an amazing swim spot
I've walked past there but not camped. Not swam either, I have the body of ET so wouldn't want to scare anyone who may pass by lol. Thanks for watching
Just noticed I hadn’t watched this yet Trev.... nice one mate .... you toughed it out that night for sure but you and the little nature hike stood up to it it again just awesome ... couple of things to try for a better night sleep ...on the inflatable mat try letting some air out ... counter intuitive I know but if they are inflated too much when you put you weight on it they become as firm as a rock and you get this sliding around effect and frankly it feels like you are steeping on a plank as well . I blow mine up so it’s really soft then when I get on it I sink into it ... granted shoulders and hips are barely off the ground but you don’t slide around so much. Also get yourself some soft earplugs the ones for snoring ... I know they feel funny but after a short while you don’t notice them and it blocks out all the wind flappy noise, animal scuffling noises, trains and traffic noises, natives banjo playing 😳 etc ... I tell you they have helped me sleep on lots of one / two nighters when it could have been just miserable. Good luck on raising the Himalayas money ... you doing a fantastic thing Trev.... ATB mate 👍👍
Hi Dave - thabnks for watching! Yeah, this certainly was a fun camp haha! but we got through it. Just trying to work out my next one, now. Thanks very so much for the advice - I probably need to get ear plugs, everyone has told me, so I should take heed. And that probably makes a lot of sense about taking some air out of the mat - may try that too, although, I have just picked up a new self inflating mat that I am hopeing will mean I can get rid of the thermarest and the naturehike altogether. We'll see. Thanks for watching!
i have a self inflating mat too ... awesome night sleep and if you are doing just a few miles so worth the extra weight ....again though just undo the valve and let it do it’s own thing self inflating ... don’t be tempted to blow in more air ... like sleeping on a plank! yup done that too 😂😂 looking forward to spring here in michigan so i can get out ... it’s too darn cold in our winters and i like my comfort 👍👍
And to you, Gary. This was the 22nd of December - had moments where it was colder than others, but I wrapped up ok. Hoping this gear will be good enough for a proper winter camp if it snows soon - that'll be the test, I reckon. Thanks for watching!
Great to see yet another great video, I've camped up Oke Tor in the wind and rain, just beyond your spot tight to the rock face, managed to find some relative shelter. As others have said try putting your sleeping mat inside your bivi bag, keeps everything together.
Very Wild and Windy Camp X Really enjoy all your camps and you do show that it is possible to camp in all conditions X You need to take a pack of playing cards with you and play 'Add Poker' instead of 'Strip Poker' Add some piece of clothing when you lose, but then again your the only one playing so you should win every time X Looking forward to all your adventures in 2020 X
Morning Trev! Amazing to see you back wild camping on Dartmoor! Another great video!! You know what the issue was tho?? NO DARTMOOR LEGENDS!! Haha. Thankyou for keeping us all inspired and entertained in 2019! Jon
I was always told that you should always save layers to put on as the night gets colder, if you have all your layers on and its not enough, there's no where more to go, if that makes sense. It works for me, and also gives you things to look forward to too!
@@SummitOrNothing alright so you won’t save a layer, just because it’s your last one, if you feel chilly? In other words, as the chill factor increases, you respond with more layers. Conversely, I make sure I don’t wear too many layers / overheat, as that causes sweating which cools me down later.
ive got the cloud up 1, i noticed in your vid that you didnt peg out the bottom guy line that connects the inner to the outer. it makes a huge difference as i found out recently in the lake district. love the vids keep up the great work.
Its a great tent - I do peg the bottom bit, but dont fully extend the guy line - I have it pegged up tight to the inner, but still pulled enough to separate the inner and outer. I think that Naturehike make some fantastic tents - I have used this one a lot, but last year, I found that the Vik 1 is awesome for fair weather camping. Really lightweight.
Can empathise! I tried to cross a muddy field on Xmas eve following a walking path - hopping over water logged trenches, sank in mud up to the shins, fell over several times and trying to pull out my legs against mud suction 😂 A tad disconcerting to say the least! 😆 Nice vid btw 👍🎅
Its an OEX waterproof jacket - its OK but doesn't seem to let moisture out very well. I would have shared a link but Go Outdoors OEX stock seems to have diminished lately.
You should try putting a waterproof picnic blanket on the floor of the tent. Makes a difference especially if you tend to slide about and adds an extra wee layer between you and the cold ground.
Ever thought of Earplugs for all that noise =-) , It must be wired into your brain that you have to go out in the cold and wet...Walk for miles over rocks and boggy ground.....Just to sleep on the floor... =-P ....Good for you , wish i could too lol.
Hahaha! Yeah, I mustn't be wired right lol. I have put off camping for months because it has been appalling, so thought I has to get out for Christmas. Even though I looked like I had a crap time of it, I'm glad that I went out. I haven't tried ear plugs, maybe I should, but to be honest I hate having things in my ears. Thanks for watching! And happy new year!
Just discovered your channel, fantastic videos Trevor! The moors are beautiful....I live in Plymouth so am often out enjoying them. Any chance I could tag along sometime in the future?

Great video Trev, get yourself a cheap single duvet cover, place Z-Mat and air mattress inside it, keeps it all together in the night on uneven ground, plus keeps grit out 👍 merry Christmas matey
Yea, that sounds a good idea, Ray. I also thought on the way home that I could have tucked the toll may in the bivvy bag too, which I remembered someone had suggested before. I will definitely be looking to improve my sleep kit somehow in the new year. Cheers for watching!
Loving your videos man! If you had a budget of £160 Ish give or take and were based up Scotland what tent would you buy? For one person, quite big, hiking Cairngorms etc.
Thanks Lee. Glad you enjoy them mate. If I was heading up in the cairngorms then I'd possible be looking for a geodesic dome tent, or something low lying like a tunnel tent. Yeah, I don't know how helpful this particular adventure was to my mental health, but I know what you mean haah! Thanks for watching, Mari - all the best!
Great and very funny vid Trev.
Im doing this one this friday night - looks a nice little spot.
Quality stuf mate, really enjoying your channel. Given a lot of inspiration. Thanks
Ah, that's great to hear, mate - thanks very much for watching!
Enjoyed this one, I think I've got the same beanie as you too 😁
Elf on the bloody shelf!!
Yea, but what would be the fun in that? hahah. Cheers for watching!
just found your channel... you have a new subscriber! Oke Tor is my go to place for a quick overnighter. i usually camp up on the tor itself, between the rocks... there is a bit of a plateau surrounded on three sides so gives good shelter in the wind.
I know the spot you mean, Kev. Thanks for watching, and subscribing - hope you enjoy all that you find. Cheers!
Trev!
Have a great Christmas. Look forward to next years adventures
Thanks Lisa - happy Christmas!
A Classic summit or nothing Trev. All the best
Yea, I missed this.... not! hahaha! Take it easy!
aaaaaaaaah Trev. An old skool
Vid.
Jk
Your a inspirational in what you do especially at this time of year.
@@SummitOrNothing cheers bud
Love camping in the rain and wind but what I'm really looking forward to is snow as soon as its forecast snow for north UK I'll be packing my kit lol GS on video mate 👏⛺☔
Yea I know what you mean. I haven't done a snow camp yet either, and hoping to this year. Cheers for watching!
What a place, I love your adventures, make a very good documentary work. Thank you very much for bringing the mountain to everyone. A hug
Thanks very much. Really glad that you enjoyed the video, cheers
Fair play Trev. Great videos for 2019, looking forward to your 2020 videos. Hope you've had a good Christmas and santa bought you some good new kit.
Cheers, Dean - had a cracking Christmas so far mate - thanks! Cheers for watching!
Very enjoyable!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, I randomly came across your channel and this was the 1st vlog I watched and a subscribe was easy. I myself am getting into wild camping this year in the lake district to coinside with my photography. And like yourself will be documenting it for TH-cam. I look forward to seeing more of you uploads.
Hi Daniel - thanks for finding us , watching and subscribing. Glad that you enjoyed the video and good luck with your own ventures. All the best!
Oh boi and i tought im the only one weighting my gascanisters and writing it on them :D
... woah wait a sec i didnt know you can just shove the nature hike tent just up there... i always roll mine up lol and i learned something thank you will save me a lot of time :D
🤣🤣🤣
Been researching a new tent for a month now, and I think this video has convinced me to get the Cloud Up!
Yea it's a great budget tent. Maybe one day I will dish out for something a bit more pricey but it's doing ok so far.
@@stonehill27 Hi I am looking at the cloud up1 for bike packing and hiking, have you used it in wind and rain?
Happy new year Trev, can’t wait for this years videos an your trip of a lifetime, big love to the Mrs an the kids
I managed too get out this week for wild hammock/tarp camp with my youngest an toasted marshmallows under a cloudless chilly night over the new bushbox lf they bought me for Xmas 🌲🌲🔥
Now that sounds like a right good night, Ray. Keep meaning to try one of those bushboxes myself, and my hammock 🤣🤣 Happy new year to you and your family, Ray, thanks for all your support.
Great video.Enjoyed it very much.Look forward for more in the new year.ATB:Soren
Thanks, Soren! Glad that you enjoyed it! all the best and a happy New Year to you!
To sleep well I need ear plugs, a sleeping bag rated well below the temps I expect (because sleeping bag companies lie) an inflatable matt on top of my sleeping matt and feet warmers in the bag. But the weather looked really challenging. Thanks.
It wasn't too bad, really. I was relatively warm, and at least the tent stayed up,lol. Thanks for the advice and for watching. Happy new year, Daniel.
I love it, pure honesty!
Cheers, Dave!
Hi Trev. Yet another cracking video! :-) I loved every minute even the swearey bits lol Hope you've dried out by now...ATB Derek
Cheers, Derek, glad that you enjoyed it - thanks for watching!
Good luck.
Thanks Sam - this was a good vid... not such a great experience. Glad that you have found us and enjoying our content. Thanks for watching!

All the best Trev. ☃️🎉
Yea, it will be here before we know it! Thanks for watching, all the best!
Hahah! I bet he does get it too, lol.
Proper reality camping video thanks. Love the videos : keep it real !!! 👍👍

Cool. As I say,you will more than likely need to attach extra guy ropes. Thanks for watching and good luck with your Lapland adventure.
Good video. Get a kindle, radio or some downloads to phone to while away those hours. All the best
Cheers for watching, glad that you enjoyed it. I do take a book and download stuff in Netflix to watch whilst camping, just don't bother filming as it tends not to make very good video haha. Take it easy and thanks for watching!

I've used that technique too. Not perfect but it's better in than out!
I've put my roll mat on top of my inflatable sleep mat, seems to work, for me anyway 😁
@@SummitOrNothing I find if I put sleeping mat inside my sleeping bag, I roll off the mat, and then end up upside down and kinda stuck, bit like a tortoise on it's back :-)
Fools go where wise men fear to tread. Thank god for fools. Thank you for the video Trev. Ace.
Hahah.... In the words of Obi wan, who's more of a fool, a fool or the fool that follows lol. Thank you for watching. Happy new year, Malcom
Haha! Yea.. that's my fear lol. Thanks for watching!
Excellent video, I live on Dartmoor so this is literally on my stomping ground. I’m often out wild camping but I have to confess I’m not a great fan of the colder nights at my age 😂🤪
Yea - its a great place, alright - bit bloody damp at the moment - but this camp had been a looong time coming. Thanks for watching! All the best!
Great vid. Too dark for too long for me. Roll on April. As said below, try putting the roll mat inside the bivvi bag. Also use a shirt/jumper to secure a pillow to the roll mat. (Shove the pillow inside the front of the jumper) it helps stop slipping and sliding
Cheers Steve - great tips - I shall try them out on my next outing Thanks for watching!
Nice one mate. I've been there myself - stuck in a blowing tent on an endless dark and wet night. It's always good to see the true reality of some wild camps. Keep the faith :)
Thanks very much for watching, I do try and document my camps as happen - the good with the bad, warts and all haha. Happy New Year!
Thanks for watching
thanks for this. I now know this tend can resist winter camping, if you are equipped with a good sleeping set up
No worries Davide! Thanks for watching!
Great video mate! Love it
Cheers Jolie!
Merry Christmas Trevor , man that looked COLD...
When was this ? sureky not Christmas night 😂
And to you, Gary. This was the 22nd of December - had moments where it was colder than others, but I wrapped up ok. Hoping this gear will be good enough for a proper winter camp if it snows soon - that'll be the test, I reckon. Thanks for watching!
Happy new year Trev 😊 Hopefully with a lot of new great adventures 👍 Now - get inside and enjoy Christmas with your family 😃 This looked very cold 😱😃
Thanks Torunn, hopefully have an even fuller year that 2019 - fingers crossed! all the best and thanks for watching!
I use many tents different on what i do if i sleep in abandoned places i like to use a bivy but honestly the cloud 2 i love great tent
Yea - the cloud up 2 is great - lightweight - resiliant - looks quite cool too, I think.
Well done trev on a fantastic year! Looking forward to watching your 2020 videos.
Thanks very much - Happy new year to you and all the best for 2020!
Great to see yet another great video, I've camped up Oke Tor in the wind and rain, just beyond your spot tight to the rock face, managed to find some relative shelter.
As others have said try putting your sleeping mat inside your bivi bag, keeps everything together.
It's definitely a fantastic tor to sleep on. And Yea I will definitely try something else for next time. Thanks for watching.
Haha... That sounds like a great idea, Jennifer. May try that in future lol. Thanks for watching, hope you had a great Christmas!

Took my cloud up 2 out last night kinder scout winds got up to 45mph at one point but it held firm got no sleep though!
Yowsers!!! Bet that got hairy - have you tied off the rear window to an additional guyline - I think that has helped keep the arse end up!
@@SummitOrNothing yes cheers trev I didn’t do that after your suggestion.
Can you elaborate on why you "save" your extra layers? I always put on more layers, immediately as i get cold. To conserve heat, for the cold night.
I never figured to weigh those used canisters. Clever. Could never figure how much gas each really holds.
Yea - I often go through and weigh them, then take the most partially filled ones! Not a bad 'hack' as they like to say these days!
You're an expert at pegging.😊 Thanks for sharing.
🤣🤣
Great video thanks. Useful review of the CloudUp2. Did that nylon flysheet dry out quickly in the morning? Looks like you packed it dry.
That sounds horrendous - we have had some serious rain as of late. Enough now! Stay safe out there, and thanks for watching!
Nice one Trev Roll on summer
Here bloody here! Hahah!
What jacket were you wearing during your walk to location?
Its an OEX waterproof jacket - its OK but doesn't seem to let moisture out very well. I would have shared a link but Go Outdoors OEX stock seems to have diminished lately.
You should try putting a waterproof picnic blanket on the floor of the tent. Makes a difference especially if you tend to slide about and adds an extra wee layer between you and the cold ground.
That's a great idea, kind of like a carpet. Bet that's snug actually. Probably take up half of my pack though.
