- Trev's out Solo Winter Wild Camping in Storm force winds, giving the new Naturehike Cloud Peak 2 budget lightweight backpacking tent a Bad Weather Test to start off with up on Dartmoor's high moor, specifically East Mill Tor.
**SCROLL DOWN FOR PRODUCT AND CHANNEL LINKS MENTIONED IN THIS VIDEO**
Trev has always loved his budget tents from Naturehike, the Cloud Up 2 has been his favourite tent for the past three years, and it has seen lots of bad wetaher tests, standing up relatively well in high winds and rain. But Naturehike's Cloud Peak 2 has always seemed a little more substantial for those hostile wet and windy winter wild camps with its sturdy geodesic design. Well tonight he certainly gets to put it through its paces as he sits on top of a Dartmoor tor awaiting the storm forced winds that approach.

Hi. GORGEOUS. BEAUTIFUL. SCENERIES. LANDSCAPE. AWESOME. AMAZING. HIKING. CAMPING.
Great vid. I always attach a guy line to my rucksack when packing my tent up in the wind
I’ll remember that
That is a great tip, Shawn. Cheers mate!
That's a great idea!
yep a do the same mate
best test yet on youtube for the cloud peak 2 that I have seen, I always think its the wind test that matters more as most materials are waterproof these days Excellent video Trev as always. Keep Safe and Well and ATB For Christmas To You And Your Loved Ones, Les.
Ah, cheers. Glad that you found it helpful. Merry Christmas to you too, Les!
Tim here. I've been waiting for this one and it didn't disappoint!! These are the trips we never forget!
They certainly are, Tim! Glad that you enjoyed it, cheers!
Great choice of music there Trev when taking the tent down. I found myself singing along with that one 😂. Great video and well done for taking on those conditions. Glad the tent held up
Thank you for watching, Anthony! Was an exciting night out and glad that the tent stood its ground. Really pleased with it!
you're a legend Trev. Been following a short while now. This is my fave so far (apart from the Lanshan) atb best to you both. Trev.
Thanks Trev, really glad that you enjoy our videos! Cheers for watching, and have a good Christmas! Trev!
@King Kong Are they talking to themselves or each other?
Absolutely great as always Trev , I'm so glad that the channel seems to be going from strength to strength. I now can't imagine sitting down with a nice glass of wine on a Sunday evening without watching a Summit or nothing video 🤪🤪
Thanks Tony - glad to be a part of your Sunday Routine! Take care!
You've definitely sold me that tent mate. Can't wait to get it now. Its definitely held up well in that weather you had. Great video
ATB Adam 👍👍
Yea it did ok, Adam! Really pleased with it.... barr the zip!!
@@SummitOrNothing I saw that mate. But that can happen on any tent I guess bud
Great videos Trev! Just a tip the inner door that zips open and you were saying was flapping about.. put the toggle through one of the inner tent rings as you fold it back, hope this helps 😊 keep the vids coming! 👍🏼
Ok, ill look closer at that when I get it up next, thanks
Well done Trev yet another character building camp in such cacky weather.
Enjoyed this but i enjoy all your camps 😁 keep em coming! Each time i think i've caught up with your vids, i find more lol. Keeping me from getting bored when nowt doing!
Ah Trev, much appreciate the shout out, thank you 🙏 I bet Gordon will be glued to watching this video after he's just gone and purchased the same one on your recommendation.. 😉 ATB Dave 👍
Hahah! He was one of the first to watch, Dave lol. Don't think he will be too disappointed with this one. Decent budget tent, mate! Have a good Christmas, mate! All the best, bud! Cheers!
@@SummitOrNothing I see alot of people rate them 👍 I did try and persuade him to get the one tigris, it looked easy to set up 😉
Hope you and your family have a great Xmas to Trev... Stay safe, see you next year hopefully 👍👍
Looking into a new storm tent, wasn't crazy on the size allocations of this one but my mind has been swayed by this video because it shows this tent is clearly ride-or-die.
Thanks for going through these uncertainties so that we don't have to. 😉
Yea it held up really well, a little disappointed with the zips on this model though.
@@SummitOrNothing thanks for that comment, very relevant info. 🙂
I've watched your videos for a couple of years now and always find them entertaining, mainly because of the same learning curves we all go through. I like the way you "state the bloody obvious" in your videos, which are only obvious once you know them. It's the little details that are easy to overlook, these are what your videos highlight. Always good to see you out on the Moors Trev....
Thanks very much. Glad that you find them entertaining. Cheers.
Great Video Trev, bloody good tent that it didn't fly away in those conditions! Looking forward to what comes next!
Yea, i was chuffed to bits with how it performed! Thanks for watching!
That tent looked as though it stood up pretty well to the harsh conditions! Another great video as always!
Yea it did good cheers for watching
Great vid mate. Every time I put my Cloud Peak tent up, I catch something with a hook from the top cover. Made me laugh when I saw you do the same. I swear if you took that top cover fishing, you'd come back with a good haul - it always catches something!
Hahah! Yeah, I know what you mean - snagged like a muvva! lol. Cheers for watching!
Great video a good test, I've been looking at the tent and you've helped me decide to get it. Cheers 👍
Glad I could help
Binged watched for a bit now, trev you keep me interested and entertained mate, your a natural at narrating. Well done
Thanks very much, John ! Really glad that you think so. Cheers!
Thanks for this Trev. I bought this for motorcycle camping, but havent had to use it yet (riding season is over here in the states, until at LEAST March). You put it through the test, so I dont have to :)
Yea it did ok, Bill. Hope yours fares just as well, cheers!
@@SummitOrNothing Thank you, and merry christmas!
Thanks Trev, for showing us how lucky we are to live in this area. Hope you and family have a wonderful Christmas.
Thanks Tobias, merry Christmas to you too.
That airbag is ingenious! I'm 'bagging' myself one of those! Cheers for the video, buddy!
Yea, up until recently I hadn't seen one either. A game changer. Cheers for watching!
I got an exped Schnozzle for my trekology ul80
I've now owned the Cloud Peak 2 for nearly two years and it's great. Very sturdy and plenty of room for me and my kit, whether backpacking or if I choose it over the Khyam Biker tent when on my motorbike because the Cloud Peak 2 not only smaller & lighter, but is is much easier to erect and also take down & pack. That's great when I'm only staying at a campsite for one or two nights and keep the bigger Khyam when staying for several nights on the same pitch.
I've not used it in extreme conditions, but have had quite a bit of rain and wind and everything was fine.
I am also glad I have the original version with the double zipped inner tent doors rather than the single large zippered door on the later version as I don't think that was an upgrade.
I have the same sleep set up, Ridgerest pad and Trekology UL80mat, very comfy, and also the Trekology pillow. Good tip I found from Erik Normark videos is that there's a bit more insulation if you have the pad on top of the air bed, rather than the other way around. I tried it and found it is a bit warmer that way.
I've recommended the Cloud Peak to a friend who's current Vango 2man isn't big enough for him and his missus.
Been subscribed for a while. Love the channel. Always find myself going back in on some older vids. I've been on the fence with the Cloud Peak 2, but you've convinced me haha. Actually bit the bullet and bought one today. Can't wait to try it out. Respect to you Sir 😎
I brought that tent last week glad to see it held up to the weather! Thank you for the video 👍
Thank you for watching - hope you enjoy yours when you finally get out!
Good to know the tent held up under those conditions, but the stuck zip would really bother me. Yeah, I’m a fussy moo, but for good reason 😏 Thanks for posting 👍🏼
Yea - it was a bit frustrating that the zip let the tent down, I must admit! That and the flappy door, but apart from that a great bit of kit! Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas!
@@SummitOrNothing Merry Xmas to you and yours too Trev 🎄🎄🎄
Great vid as usual. Can't wait to get out in my Cloud peak in the new year
Thanks David! You'll be out in yours before you know it!
Nice one trev ..hope you n ur family have a fantastic Christmas n thanks for the entertainment
Thank you Terry. And same back at ya!!!
Such beautiful scenery stay safe
Thanks Julie, and you too. Happy New year!
Best bit abt any vid is when ya get home safe n sound Trev ATB hope next yr better 👍👍👍👍
Yea - you're right about that, Craig! Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas!
Well done Trev and you didn't blow away be great to see you and Nath out before Christmas 💪💪👍🏴
We wont be getting out before Christmas, but maybe between xmas and new year1 Watch this space! Cheers!
@@SummitOrNothing I'm hoping to sneak out for my 1st ever wild camp over the holidays 🤞🤞
Have been looking forward to this and you didn't disappoint. You give us the opportunity to enjoy winter wild camping from the comfort of our warm homes. Cheers mate.
Hahah! Yea, that's what I'm here for lol. Thanks for watching, and merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to Trev and Nath.
Cheers George! Merry Christmas to you too, sir!
Great video mate, looking at either the cloud peak or helm2 for my next tent! Still undecided
Handy hint...take a couple of pegs when you go camping. That way, if you need to roll up a door (inner or outer) and there isn't a proper fixing or the fixing has broken, you can still roll up the door and use a peg to secure it. Rough night but the tent (and you!) survived. Well done! Great video. Have the best Christmas you can in all the circumstances and here's hoping that 2021 is a lot better than 2020. Cheers. Ken
Thanks Ken, and a great suggestion cheers. Hope you had a great Christmas, enjoy the rest of the festive season. Cheers!
Thank you for going out in weather with the possibility of being miserable for a wet, windy wild camp for our entertainment 🤣 another great video
I think of you guys, don't I hahah?
Great vid Trev. The Cloud Peak 2 is a good tent and one of the best budget tents I’ve owned. I’ll take mine to Dartmoor soon as it gives you that bit of extra room over the Cloud Up 2. Keep safe..
YEa, I must say once inside I couldn't etll which was bigger but there is certainly more vestibule space. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely top draw Trev, cant wait to for the Summit or Nothing water resistant luggage sack merch 🤗🤭 felt your pain, sometimes your so tired and battered your brain and mouth refuse to work together. Bar one snag, pleased the tent held up and big shout out to Dwayne The Rock Johnson for catching you tent lid! 😬😄 Great watch and good news for Nath too! Festive regards, Ceri and Kat 🏕🎅👍❤☕
Hahah1 Yea, it was a good job he was walking past lol. My brain and mouth always seem to work at different rates... Was happy with how the tent performed though! Cheers for watching! All the best
Great vid again 🙂 re that wee flappy annoying side door.. stitch a bit of twill tape to the seam at the edge of the net inner, velcro tab on other end & on the door, sorted.
Love cloud ups, got 3 now.
That's not a bad idea! Great stuff! Thanks for watching!
You know why we watch, got to giggle but you're right, we like the mayhem trev 👍 but fair play man, you stuck it out & the tent held up ok. Look forward to seeing your next outing. Atb tc
I know, you're a cruel lot hahah! Luckily I am getting a better lot of kit together now, so I can sleep through the worst of it haha! Cheers for watching!
Good video and review. I've had similar problems with one of the zips on my cloud peak to such a point that I now can use that side at all.
One thing I've done is permanently fasten two of the top cover lines. This means its always on the same way and can't blow away. I good mod I thought.
Keep safe and have a good Christmas.
Ah, thats a cracking tip - cheers, will bare that in mind, cheers! And sorry to hear that you're zip has written off one door - I will have to keep an eye on mine Thanks for watching!
Fantastic video, glad you survived the night 😊
Me too Stuart, me too haha. Thanks for watching!
This was excellent, thanks for sharing. I thought I was subscribed to you. I am now. Cheers. 👍
Must say it was nice watching that blowy tent from a warm sofa 😁 thanks for all the videos Trev have a good Christmas 🎄
Hahah! I bet it was, David! And thank you for watching all my videos! Merery Christmas to you too!
Nice bad weather camp Trev. Take care, stay safe and have a great Christmas. Ben 🎄
Cheers Ben. Hope you have a good Christmas mate! Heres to a better 2020!
Hi Trev. I have the Vango banshee 300 and it had lasted me well for about 5 years and it's still in great nick. But I do like the look of the cloud peak 2 as there seems plenty of space in the vestibule area for cooking etc.
It got a battering in this video and did a great job.. I'm seriously thinking about this tent.
You've a Fantastic channel which is very entertaining and real (if you know what I mean). Keep up the good work mate 👍
Ah, thanks very much. Really glad that you're enjoying the channel. As for the tent... It did hold up very well, and yes its plenty roomy. Obviously I have only tried it the once so far, and my only concern is the roof cap. I will try to connect it permanently for next time I think. It would be better throwing it up in the rain without a big hole on top, so I think a modification is required. Apart from that I have been happy with what I have seen so far.
Great vid as per. Some people attach one of the 'hat' loops to the main body with a bit of thin string. So glad the tent stood up to the battering.
She certainly did, John! I will definitely be attaching that hood somehow... bloody lucky I didn't lose the thing! Cheers for watching!
Another entertaining video. Thank you 👍
Glad you enjoyed, David! Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on the channel and content growth!
Thank you Matt!
Just orders this to take with me when I walk the south west coast path! Good to see it does well in the wind, won’t feel too nervous pitching it in elements on the side of a cliff!
Yea, its quite a sturdy bit of kit! Good luck with the coast path!! You doing it in one hit? You'll love it!
@@SummitOrNothing I’m walking just over half of it for sure, might do the whole thing if I feel like it!
What a tension build up, was expecting you to end up homeless. Glad the tent shook it all off👍👍🏴🏴
Haha! Yea - you were tense watching it? You should have been sat in the blooming thing haha!
Lay back, grip the groundsheet, hang on tight 🤣🤣🤣
Haha.
Awesome video Trev, the naturehike took a good hiding in its stride 👌
It certainly did mate! Thanks for watching!
Cracking vid as always..great to see the Cloud Peak 2 stood up to the weather it was confronted with..that top cover is an arse when it's windy, you were lucky it found a rock to hug lol because had it not you'd never have seen it again up there..Merry Christmas Trev & family & all the best for 2021 🎅🏻
I know Andy. I need to get that hood secured for sure, would have been gutted the next time I went to use it. Thanks for watching, mate and Merry Christmas to you too. Cheers!
Greetings from the Pacific Northwest, Washington State!! Awesome video and awesome area to get out in nature. Stay safe brother. I'll be heading out to film tomorrow:)
Thanks very much for watching! Glad that you enjoyed the video! enjoy your outing!
A few days late but got to watch it eventually, was feverishly waiting to see how the tent held up, great video great test of the new tent like it!
I’d definitely get a stand for your gas Trev, the jetboil stand should fit it save spending any money.
One last trip before Xmas planned this week, and I might even have a biblical theme to it for the time of year.
Have a great Xmas to you, Nath and the family mate 👍🏻
Cheers John, the tent did good. Must admit that I did pack an additional stand (gor an oex one) but I couldn't find it thought I'd forgotten it, until I gor home and unpacked and it was in there all along hahah.
Well, enjoy your last outing of the year. I still may get out for one more myself yet.
Take care cheers
Brilliant vid, tent was looking pretty good in those big winds 👍
Yea - she didn't do too bad!
Hi Trev. Great video. On the outside corner of the small inner door is a toggle which attaches to the loop where the inner and outer connect. ATB. Josh
Ah I thought I'd seen one when I set it up in my garden but could I find it this time?? Will look harder next time.
Mental! That tent stood up well trev, shame about the zip!
Yes, it coped really well. I always thought the cloud up zip may have posed a problem, but it never has yet, shame this one did. Cheers for watching, Peter!
Nice one Trev,,merry Christmas mate, best wishes to you and yours pal..
Thanks Andy. And to you too, cheers!!:
top review. thanks for taking the time to make and post this vid brother!
No worries Len. Thanks for watching!
Really enjoyed the video thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching, John! Glad that you enjoyed it, cheers!
Great video . Inspirational as always. Glad you took the cloud peak 2 in the elements. Enjoy your Xmas with your Family . And Merry Xmas to Nathan and his family. Karl xx
Thanks Karl. Looking forward to a Christmas of hibernation after this testing year. Stay safe mate and merry Christmas to you.
@@SummitOrNothing spending time with your love ones is what Xmas is all about. I was in Dartmoor for 3 days because of working over Xmas. merry Xmas to you dude take care. xxx
great video as usual Trev, hope Moby is ok. We were up High Willhays in Oct, 35mph winds, horizontal rain, and less than 50m vis, so really great for walking. Maybe next year get a chance to camp up there.
Dartmoor is a pleasure sometimes isn't it lol? That is certainly the most exposed part of the moor. Thanks for watching Michael!
I secretly thought the tent would of triumphed in those conditions. I did look in horror though when the zip snagged 😳. Also liked the honest update of the oex leviathan bag, things to consider. Great vestibule size I must say on the cloud peak 2.
Loved the video, thanks for putting in so much time and effort, Merry Christmas and a better 2021
Thanks for watching, Anne. Really glad that you enjoy our content. A few teething problems with zips, but despite that both tent and sleeping bag performed admirably. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you !
Great fun to watch as always.I must admit i was shouting at the laptop 'Trev, tie a bl@@@y guyline to your rucksack before anything else please !!!.It helps to wrap your guylines around the poles twice and then peg out.On the whole i was very impressed with how well the tent dealt with the conditions and thanks again for great entertainment..
Hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas and New Year.
Thats a good couple of tips there, Jamie! Nice one. Thanks for watching and merry Christmas to you too. all the best!
Great night out Trev. People tie the guy line around the pole like the hiliberg. Gives you a bit more stability.
All the best to you and Nath & your families.
ATB-Phill 🙏
Yea, I have heard that, Phil - will be giving that a try in future, cheers! Merry Chistmas!
Hi Trev - looks like a great character building camp. Get yourself a foil/foam/foil blanket to put down on the bathtub, it reflects heat back at you and not as bulky as the thermarest. You can feel the heat coming back at you. Fairly cheap on ebay. We have one for the Banshee 300 as well that was used to great effect when we went to Gunnerside (Yorks Dales) in the Beast from the East snow a couple of years ago. Still waiting to get out in the Cloud Up 2, but we are in Tier 3 up here so no overnight stays away from home. Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Yea, a few people have suggested that, Andy - I shall have to have a look into one. I actually saw some in Lidl a while back, ummed and arred, decided not to, got home, changed my mind, next time I went back it had gone! Hope you manage to get back out for a camp soon, but in the meantime, stay safe and merry christmas!
That was superb Trev. Fair play to you for sticking it out knowing what was heading your way. I’ve never done a solo so I imagine it takes some doing. Impressed with the cloud peak and mine arrives on Wednesday so might have to give it a spin. Thanks again for the shoutout ♥️♥️♥️♥️. Happy Xmas to you, Nath and the families.
No worries, Gordon! Really enjoyed your vids! And good luck with your own tent - hope you manage to get out in it fairly soon! Cheers!
Good test of that tent trev. Was contemplating one but think I'd struggle to fit in it 🙄 seen a few people tie one part of the roof section to the relevant pole to 1 make it easier to get on in the right position and 2 so it doesn't blow away. Atb 👍
Yea, I will definitely be attaching that roof! Apart from that (an the door) I was relatively happy with it oiverall, it certainly withstood those winds. Thanks for watching!
@@SummitOrNothing no probs trev, ways watch your vids, still my fave! Worth the wait 👍
Great video Mate, happy new year to you and your family 👍 hope we can all get out and make some fantastic videos this New year🎉
Thanks very much. Yes, let's hope we can all get on again soon. Happy New year to you and yours too.
Great video Trev! How is Nath doing? Hope he is well.
Merry Christmas to the SoN gang. Look forward to 2021 with you guys. You and Nath have made a bad year better. God bless you both.
Steve
Thank you Steve. Nath is doing good, looking forward to visiting his folks for Xmas, he has been isolating for his visit which now looks like it will have to be shorter than he'd planned. Thanks very much for tagging along with us through this strange year. All the best and Merry Christmas to you. Cheers
Hi Trev, there have been a few of us lately who have ventured out to unexpected conditions.
The over paid and over rated forecasters have been giving inaccurate predictions.
It's so reassuring being in a tent in inclement weather 👍
Until your next adventure atb Taff 🤠
I knew it was going to be a windy one, just not sure how windy. Not even sure if the winds did reach the speeds that they forecast when I was out there, either.
Anyway, both tent and I made it back in one piece so had to be a result.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Taff! Hope 2021 is better for all of us. Cheers!
@15:38 "10:30am" I think you meant PM but I'm being a dumb stickler for details xD
Great vid. I bought that Tent hoping it'd be able to stand 60mph winds - only used it once so far! Glad you've Storm-tested it!
That 3-pole (aluminium, not fibreglass) crossover design probably means that if there's a problem with the poles, it'll be a bend, not a snap (like my last tent), and that if a pole fails, there's still 2 left to give a roof over your head! Better than the 2-pole-only dome tents with the 'X'-shaped arch!
Probably best to tie that roofpiece mini-sheet on tight to the flysheet when you put it up because if you lose that the tent's not very useful!
Yea, missed that one, mate - but youre right... it was pm hahah! And you're so right about the three poles, may fare a lot better than just the two. anyway - it did survive this wind! Really chuffed with how that performed. Cheers for watching!
Good to see you and the tent survived mate 🤣👍
Yea, we both did good cheers!
Just bought this tent a couple of weeks ago, only had a ‘lounge room pitch’ so far 😂 to tie the guy ropes on and check everything. Just purchased a separate Vango bag for it as I really love their horizontal loading zip/opening, makes packing it in so much easier. Glad the tent held up well.
Yea, thats a good shout with the Vango bag, for sure. Thansk for watching! And hope you get out before too long! Cheers!
Tent did well Trev....not too shabby at all
Aye, not a bad debut!
Love the video Trev, happy Christmas to you and yours.

good to see you out in your new tent it stood up to bad weather it look not bad tent at all not camp on east mill tor yet walk pass it lot
It wasn't the best spot to pitch, to be honest, Stephen - I was scouting about up there for ages looking for decent ground (all that footage was scrapped as the sound was atrocious in the wind). Was a good night though glad that the tent held up!
@@SummitOrNothing camp down the bottom when it was to windy and in storm my next time be fur tor that way for 2 nights 1 on fur tor and some where on my way back
That's a proper tent test 😂👍🏻
Certainly was!
@@SummitOrNothing which of the naturehike tents you've tested would be most suitable for taller people? Still looking for an affordable solo hike tent. Preferably around or under 2kg
I watched another review on this tent , and the flappy bit that you said just hangs , does fasten onto a loop !
Yea, I thought I'd seen one when I first looked. I will look a bit harder next time I'm out in it.
Another great video Trev. You can buy those Vango packing bags separately. I buy one for each of my tents if they come.in a tube bag. The open bag is far easier.
Yea I had to buy one for my banshee a few years back. I will probably pick another one up soon. Thanks for watching mate
What happened with the door? Thx for the vid!
I was smilin at the video even before you gave me a shout out and then i was just beamin' ..... So many many Thanks for that Trev....well looks like you have a winner in that tent... fully pegged out like you did it coped really well with that gusty weather and the way you slept i would say the Trekology UL80 sleeping pad worked great as well. Doesnt that Pump sack make it so much easier to inflate?!?!?.. I should have got one years ago myself!! Glad Nath managed to jump on that Lanshan offer and get one .... would have been interesting to see how that faired in that wind I'm sure it would have stood up to it especially if it was lowered a little closer to the ground. Sorry to hear you guys are on another lockdown over there.... hopefully when we all get vaccinated next year life can slowly start returning to some normalcy!! .... I'm planning a couple of gear reviews coming up after Christmas and maybe even a snowshoeing video or two when the white stuff arrives here in earnest.... again Thankyou so very much for the shout out and Thank you for sharing your adventures on wild dartmoor... Wishing you Nath and your families a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.... ATB Dave Mccartney
No worries, mate - sorry I forgot you in the shout out vid! Was really chuffed with the tent - hopefully Nath will be with his Lanshan too, although we haven't got around to the exchange yet. The pump sack is a godsend, makes a lot of difference. Its a weird tier system over here, with regards to Covid, at the moment I am in tier 2 so can still camp, but they introduced a tier 4 in London yesterday and basically cancelled xmas to stop the spread of the virus, so there's been a mass exodus of the capital and the roads down here have been crammed - really disappointing and frightening. Anyway, I am locking myself and my family down now - Christmas starts here! Merrty Christmas, mate! And all the best to you! Stay safe!
Awesome video as always, just bought the cloud peak 2 myself to add to the collection 🤣 so it was nice to see it stand up to the wind, also Santa brought me the trekology ul80 and aluft pillow, and the exped schozzle to blow the mat up with.. can’t wait to get out now.. will be counting the days
YEa - its a great tent - got quite gusty up there and seemed to hold up. I would say you will want to double up with the UL80 in winter seasons, but by the time we get back out it may well be spring now... Take care buddy!
@@SummitOrNothing thanks Trev! I usually use a foil lined rubber roll mat under my inflatable to protect it, you think that would be ok? I always think If the inflatable fails at least then rubber is my plan B
I went mad I had new boots and a few other cheapo bits like a wind deflector for my stove, its mad how I keep looking at kit 🤣
@@BulldogBadger I reckon that would be fine, I use my thermarest ride rest without foil and that has been ok. And yea, that rabbit hole of purchasing kit is a deep and endless pit haha
Great watch Trev! 13:19 I think you're suffering from rising damp 😁 That's got to be a wild camping first! Season's greetings to you & Nath 👍👍
Yea, it did seem to appear out of nowhere, unless i hadn't noticed it setting up, but I was walking all around, i am sure that i would have done! Still, that was as bad as it got through the night so all is well that ends well haha! Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas to you!
tip use backpack to tie the tent when seting up the tent in the wind got that air pad few months ago great pad great price
Yes that's a great tip, many thanks and all the best! Cheers
Glad you got your spork,, try not to break this one Trev..lol
Hopefully it will be a bit harder to break lol. Cheers for watching, martin!
Nice one Trev, glad you got your roof tile back! I’m off now to get myself a “Water resistant luggage pack!”
Cheese
🤣🤣🤣 You better get one quick, I hear they're going like high temperatured baked.... Urm.... hot cakes!!
'and I missed the bloody lot'.....LOL! Looks/sounded like you got the tent up just in time and a lot of tent time for you. I have the same mini stove and it is great, not use it as much as you will but hopefully it will get more us in 2021. When I go back to work next month I only have 12 more shifts to work before I retire completely, so hopefully next year will be better for all of us too. To be honest, I do not know how you managed 15 hours tent time, that would drive me nutso. Sorry about the zip mate and hopefully, it will be 'better' next time. Merry Christmas to you all, cheers Alan
It wasn't too bad in the tent all night, mate, i watched a good couple of films on Netflix, , and slept like a log, too! Hope you and mrs metalman have a great Christmas Alan, stay safe, and hopefully we will get out together again next year! All the best!
Great video Trev been looking forward to this one and you didn't dissapoint! Put the tent through its paces for sure but really nice tent ⛺. All the best mate, Adam
Thanks mate - glad that you enjoyed it! Cheers for watching and happy Christmas to you and yours! All the best!
@@SummitOrNothing You too bud have a great crimbo and likewise to you and yours! 🌲⛄
Great video that Trev, really enjoyed it. Looked a long hard night that, “good night out on the moors” you must really enjoy sat there freezing in shit weather hahah. Good video really enjoyed that
Yea, I managed to sleep so that was a result. Almost unheard of for my Christmas camps haha! Merry Christmas to the pair of you! all the best and cheers for watching!
@@SummitOrNothing Cheers Trev, Merry Christmas to you too from us both! 👍🏻
Thank you for risking your life for us.
My pleasure!
Brilliant video. You have balls going out in that tent. I would want something stronger. You're far braver than me 😂
I wasn't too far from the car, to be honest, but seemed like a good night to test the tent, to be honest. Cheers for watching.
Buy a Bl*+#y canister stand, at the moment it’s a accident waiting to happen! Safety rant over, great vid as always, stay safe and have a great Christmas. ATB from Clive in deepest Dorset 👍
I packed one, could I find the bloody thing? The answer is no, well, not until I got home. Cheers for watching, Clive! Merry Christmas to you!
Know the feeling 😂😂👍
@@SummitOrNothing I really rate the MSR canister stand over the cheap plastic ones they fold up much more compactly than the cheap plastic ones and are overall wider and more stable
To hell and back. One heck of a review and real world test. My cloud peak 2 had that same zipper problem on one side. I put some wax on the zipper and it kinda helped.
Ah thats a good idea, may do that myself. Im not sure if it caught the fabric and ran it off the teeth, but it was frustrating. Thanks for watching.
As always Trev, your video combined being interesting with being fun. You bring such warmth to your presentations. The Cloud Peak 2 performed well in the weather you had that night. These are the nights out we look back on with happy memories, even though at the time there may have been the odd thought of ‘why am I here rather than in my warm bed at home?’ Stay safe, my friend.
Thanks very much - this certainly was one to remember, but I must be getting something right with regards to my sleeping system because I slept through the worst of the weather - which really surprised me. Thanks for watching, stay safe and happy new year!
Love the spider song lol
hi, is the cloud up made of the same material?
