They were the band that got me into glam metal❤️ They sure had a stronger influence on a lot of bands, than most think. That’s why I started this mix with a picture of them. I usually say: No Motley, no GN’R, no Bon Jovi etc.! They were one of the bands that cleared the way for this genre(and heavier ones aswell) to get airplay and the chance to go mainstream. And Nikki was probably the primary driving factor in Motley, with his vision for the band, to make that become reality. That’s why I respect him - even for all the crazy stupid stuff he also did! Long live Nikki and all of Motley!❤️🤘🏼

The list was made of hard rock and AOR bands, not Glam at all.
But I love the list, and the others that you made.
Hi Filipe. You are right. But the channel’s aim is to provide you with rock n roll from the different sub genres that were prominent in the 80’s. I will generally call my mixes glam metal because it indicates hard, melodic, attitude and image driven rock, that was popular both underground and in the mainstream in the 80’s, whereas hard rock is a much broader term and could be from any decade. If I make a complete distinct AOR mix I include it in the title, just like mix #7. To be fair I could also just call the mixes “80’s rock” and maybe that would expose the channel to an even broader audience. I guess all in all, I just notice that many who look for glam metal music like my mixes and the term “glam metal” directs them to the channel and therefor I will not change it. I don’t think the labels are that important either. The 70’s hard rock, metal and glam scenes all influenced the bands in my mixes in some way anyhow, so if you want to stick a label on each group feel free to do so. For me it’s the energy, vibes and emotion in the different songs that are important and if songs belonging to different sub genres mix well and keeps the flow of the music going, it’s not that important if it’s 100% glam or sleaze or whatever. @@djglammetal9666 I don't like the labels too, Glam is about the visual a not the sound, old Pantera, Hawk, Witch etc are put in the Glam category only about the look nothing to do with the sound.
Don't get me wrong because I like a lot more this type of sound that the normal bands associated to the Glam genre off Poison, Brittney Fox, Faster Pussycats and that sort of things.
@@Overlorde79 Exactly it is all just rock n roll in a little bit different ways. But you are right. I think we can agree though, that even if glam metal is more of an image or “look” related thing, much of the music in the mixes here sound similar to what the classic 80’s glam bands created and therefor suit the mixes well even if the bands behind the songs are not per se a “glam band”. Personally I LOVE the old glam style Pantera and their sound was all over the place.

@@Overlorde79 I respect how the “new” Pantera evolved Heavy Metal, but I generally also only listen to the “old” Pantera! Forever Tonight, Come On Eyes, Like Fire, Takin’ My Life and We’ll Meet Again are my favorite songs👌🏼
