I knew nothing about the band or the music but I figured I would take a chance and buy it. I'm glad I did because it stuck with me for 40 plus years. Those 2 albums with Di Anno stuck with me all these years. Bruce Maiden is great, my favorite being piece of mind but IMO nothing that came after sounds as great as IM and Killers. Paul was well loved by a lot of people in the heavy music world and it's touching to see all the tributes that have poured out since he has passed.
Saw them in 79 at a local club,just knew after seeing them they were something special First 2. Albums are absolute classics of the early Metal Genre.R.I.P. Paul

The debut album and killers will always be for me the true spirit and essence of Iron Maiden, there is the voice of Paul Di'anno, he had this clean voice, sometimes hoarse voice, high tones and some fantastic screams, there is a lot of energies in the vocals and in the music, there was the dinamic Clive Burr on drums and the fantastic Dave Murray on guitar, Steve Harris was really great on bass and of course Dennis Stratton who sadly made only one album with the band, Strange World is the coolest ballad Iron Maiden ever did, thanks for sharing.
Hard to argue with Piece of mind, but I believe that pound for pound and song for song you just can't compete with POWERSLAVE!!!! Not one bad song on there, every single one frys your Brain.. 🤘🤙✌
I remember meeting this old mexican dude who didnt speak any english when i was a kid, he looked over my jacket and was like "IRON MAIDEN" and im like yeah, maiden rips, he excitedly pulls his shirt off and had the cover to killers tattooed on his back, and i go aw killers, awesome and he goes "NOOOOOO, IRON MAIDENNN" so we drank together. the end.
Transylvania all day, Transylvania all night. I never tire from hearing Transylvania. This might just be the most complete debut ever created. The guys sound like they've been making records for years. Their songs are so beautifully structured and thoughtfully written. Here's to the greatest metal band ever made. All hail Iron Maiden!
