Groove Metal is basically slow Thrash.

The riffing is different (not even mention that there is NO thrashy gallops in Groove!), the soloing is different, the guitar tone and sound are so different, the drums are working different, the vocals style is different. That`s completely different music!
There is much MORE common traits between the NWOBHM (Diamond Head/Judas Priest/Motorhead) and Thrash, than between Groove (Pantera/Exhorder/White Zombie) and Thrash, and this is an extremely obvious thing

Some 80's bands have been mis-categorized as "glam" when they were actually kick ass hard rock. (early) Def Leppard and Shotgun Messiah are perfect examples.

This was definitely a interesting one . Glam was massive when I first was old enough to go out drinking . As I went from old punk to metal to thrash & all the real heavy side used to find all the glam stuff very funny. Still like someone else said you can’t deny the impact it had .....also brought some real rock’n’roll fun back to music

"Glam/Hair metal" sounds more like a slang than a genre name, they should get a better one. Most of them play amazing Hard rock/Heavy metal. Bands like Dokken and Ratt should get as much recognition as Judas Priest or Mercyful Fate. Anyway, nice choices for riffs on both sides, buddy!

Glam Rock: David Bowie, T Rex, Sweet, Alice Cooper band. Glam Metal: the way that called the 80s and Early 90s Hard Rock, bands like Poison, Britny Fox, Cinderella, Firehouse, Bonfire, Winger, Ratt, Trixter, Babylon AD, Lillian Axe, XYZ, Warrant, Motley Crüe and the list goes on.

É a mesma coisa que Hard Rock cara, eles dizem ser metal, mas não é tem mta influência do blues principalmente no hard rock setentista e oitentista. Com algumas diferenças, algumas técnicas novas e efeitos que surgiram no final dos anos 70, além de usarem um pouco de jazz e funk Norte americano tbm. Exs: Extreme e Ratt
