My boat doesn't get on plane because my trim tabs are not moving fast enough... could u help me out with what the issue could be? Do u think it's the fluid levels as well or something else..
Look at the white basin for the fluid levels? Could be low or the actuators are bad and do not move. Ask a friend to use a boat pole to hold the trim tab down while you operate the controls to prove if they are moving. If they are, next time you try to go up on plane just extend the trim tabs down FIRST then accelerate second, see if that helps.
Use a Phillips screwdriver STUBBY to unscrew and lift off the dark plastic dust cover. On the left side is a rubber plug, pull open the cap and use the tiniest funnel you can find at the grocery store to add fluid. Read the label, usually requires ATF. Have fun, C
hi Capt ..... i need to replace the sensors to my Bennett flaps. Should the installation be done with the piston all retracted with no oil inside or is there a way to bleed ?
This is a Bennett brand unit. The fill port is a tiny vertical tube under the smoked plastic dust cover. You will need a tiny funnel found at the grocery store. Most Bennett's use ATF - Automatic Transmission Fluid.
Thanks - got one of these in my new-to-me boat and it’s not wired up. Very helpful. Looks like atf in there.
If its Bennett then it must be ATF. Read the tag on the white container for details.
How can i check if the bennet pump got power? Stop working 6mnd ago. ? Like the video👍
Look for a circuit breaker that might be tripped or fuse that might be blown.

How i works is no big deal. I was hoping to find a video that would actually show how to add fluid to it

@@Jack-ub4rs the pistons should be retracted. Sorry I don’t know the proper procedure- maybe check with Bennett?
@@AskCaptainChris i will anyway thanks for your answer ;)
I can't find the fill port??

I have no clue if mine even work.
If you have a boat that does not achieve speed fast enough to plane then they are not useful! Only planning boats benefit from trim tabs.
double hose clamps on raw water seacocks is not a requirement guys
@@astrosully9757 it’s good practice. And all the surveyors that I work with recommend it.
