    Just ordered these for my boat! Because of the many years of experience of this company and the overall very positive reviews of their products I have full confidence in Bennett's ATP system. Can't wait to try this system out!

    • @bennettmarine5838
      @bennettmarine5838 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@1636patriot Yes, you can retrofit our ATP for Hydraulic (AP000A1HA, $695.50 USD) on your vessel, but you will most likely need to also install Upper Hinge Sensor Coils & Rods in your actuators too so the system will be able to show you trim tab position in real time. We offer three (3) different ATP Sensor Coil kits to fit the different actuators we manufacture so we will need to determine which actuators you have installed on your boat before we can provide the proper ATP Sensor Coil kit Part Number for to purchase for your retrofit. Can you provide us with photos of your currently installed trim tabs & actuators in the fully retracted position via email. Please email us at BMI_Info@Yamaha-Motor.com.

    I purchased the electric tabs about 6 months ago and got the AutoTrim Pro controller last month. I just installed one tab so far. I can't wait to have time to finish the install and get it wet offshore.

    • @zash008

      @@FAKE-NAME ABSOLUTELY! Now that I have installed the tabs, I will NEVER have a boat from now on without them! I am so glad i went with the size Bennett suggested versus the smaller size you see most people install.
      Mine are 18" wide by 10" on an 18ft Vhull fiberglass boat that only sees saltwater mostly 10-30miles offshore in gulf of mexico. With the larger size if you think about the physics, the tabs don't have to push down on the water very much at all compared to the smaller size to get the same effect. The AutoTrim Pro though reacts too slow so I found myself moving them up and down myself with the switches instead of waiting to see what its gonna do.
      What I have discovered (which one would understand with experience) is kinda like you would trim the tabs down to bring bow down but trim engine up to bring bow up...I know it dont make sense enough to keep people from being critical on that statement but you'll see what I'm talking about after you use em alot. Kinda thinking that way you get the best mpg while still enjoying a smoother ride. I get up on plane MUCH faster even fully loaded and up to speed extremely fast. I didnt think I needed tabs until I put extra people on the boat. These tabs make a HUGE difference. If I would have went with 10X10 tabs they would have needed to be lowered more into the water to get same effect and that would effect mpg. I do burn less fuel now over the course of a day fishing because they really dont need to be touching the water much if any once up to speed and I can go about 400rpm slower and remain on plain now, so trolling is more efficient.

      Yes! Simply touching any manual control buttons shuts off the auto mode until re-engaged. It's very similar to tapping your brakes on cruise control in a car.

    Can you set these to manual instead of auto? I am about to buy a Heyday surf and want to use the auto feature for cruising and then run a manual tab for surfing.

    • @BennettTrimTabs1
      @BennettTrimTabs1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! You can operate the tabs at any point manually which will override any automatic activity. Just like tapping the brakes in your car when in cruise control.

  • @zash008

    Question: is there anything wrong with installing the tabs and using the boat while I save up for a controller? I plan to purchase the ATP controller at a later date.

    • @BennettTrimTabs1
      @BennettTrimTabs1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do that, but we should start by verifying which trim tab system you are going to be installing on your vessel. Do you have the part number for the set?

    • @BennettTrimTabs1
      @BennettTrimTabs1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope! Assuming you've got the correct electric version of AutoTrim Pro (PN: AP000A1BC) you'll be all set. Sensor kits are only required for certain hydraulic systems.

    do the tabs stay up when you push the all up button, i.e. tabs won't go down when throttling up that little bit to nudge forward on the trailer prior to hooking up the wench?

    • @bennettmarine5838
      @bennettmarine5838 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the tabs will stay up when pressing the all up button. Pressing either the "All up" or "All down" button (or the standard Bow up/down controls) will take you out of auto mode and into manual. It's also important to note that the system is also programmed with auto tab retraction when the ignition is powered off, so the tabs will automatically come up anyway as soon as you power off the ignition. Please feel free to call us at 954-427-1400 if you'd like to talk. We're happy to assist!

    • @zash008
      @zash008 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reading the owners manual and watching the videos, if you press all up button the tabs stay in all up from then on, no matter how you drive the boat unless you put it back in automatic

      I recently installed the AutoTrim Pro and have taken the boat offshore about 3 times since. The system does work but I find it is a little slower to react in auto mode than i would like. It seems to hesitate an auto adjustment when the surf is a little on the rough side. I don't regret buying it though. Easy to make adjustments yourself and maybe in smoother surf it's just throttle up and go and let it do it's thing.
