Ditto! It’s 5:20 am in Texas USA and in spite of our weather (100+ for weeks) and COVID-19 and our political challenges - I am at peace and Paul Barton and Brahms are the reason why.

It sounds very melancholic and joyful at the same time

What an amazing piece. First piece by Brahms I can say I love. That middle part is very reminiscent of modern guitar solos with a simple riff in the background playing a repeating chord progression.

Do you have any piano tuners in indochina?

    • @jeffreylebowski4927

@@Noah-wv4td The Piano is quite alot out of tune, it sounds bad, its bad for the piano and he, being a serious musician who plays alot and makes music content, should tune his piano, which isnt even that much effort or expensive to do... Its that simple.
Just listen to the 1st 2 bars of the piece, ecpecially the F octave... If you think its barely out of tune you dont have a very good ear.
Honestly I think you have to be the one who is bored to come here and listen to the music and then not even care enough to be bothered by the jaring out of tune notes... Do you actually like music and care about his playing or does it all not matter to you? Then why are you wasting your time with something that means nothing to you?

@@Noah-wv4td I doubt that those old recordings are sounding wonky due to out of tune instruments, pretty sure its because of analog storage media etc. which degrade over time - and yes that is a problem and it would be better if those recordings would sound correctly, the way the musicians played it - with well tuned instruments...
I am no elitist if thats what this is about, I too dont need a perfectly* tuned piano or anything like that - its all about having fun and joy at the end of the day - But at the same time, tuned instruments sound better than out of tune instruments and this piano is far from "not perfect" and sounds like it hasnt been tuned for at least 4+ years, which is also not the best for the instrument.
Tuning pianos is not that expensive, especially in Vietnam or wherever they live im sure you wont pay more than 100$ or so... So its definitly worth it and necessary.
If you dont care whether your pianos go out of tune because youre just "making do with practicing" or whatever, great, thats not what this video is about and other people like to actually PLAY music which is all about listening and enjoying the sounds... out of tune notes like this piano has, simply sound bad, like a singer or violinist not hitting the notes sounds bad...
If you dont care or hear anything wrong - great, dont tune your pianos and just "make do" with whatever crap youve got, because it would be a waste of money for you, but most musical people do hear it and do care, so dont try to force your low standards on everybody else.
      Cheers and happy practicing.

@@Noah-wv4td There is some irony in your comment - you should read your first reply to my initial comment and see if you arent the one who is whining and being negative... I can see, that my inital comment is a bit snarky, but thats just my temperment, I like to tease people a little and dont mind being teased back. Add some spice into things. No need to get offended and whiny - which is what you are.
Now having a glass of whiskey and enjoying a sunset sounds too good for me, I will just "make do" with water and a rainy day, because its all about having fun you elitist...

I had never heard this piece before but recognized many parts of since it was part of the score of Chaplin’s The Gold Rush which is one of my favorites. Chaplin’s version can be compared here th-cam.com/video/D42LylHtfzY/w-d-xo.html
