  • Dear viewers: A FEURICH technician planned to service and regulate my piano just before Thailand closed borders to travellers some months back. I continue my regular channel uploads, apologise the piano is not sounding at its best and thank you for your understanding. In view of ongoing travel restrictions, FEURICH have kindly offered a creative solution, which will come into effect in the near future.

    My wife died three years ago and this was her favorite piece by Brahms. It's so beautiful and for me personally it feels like it revives a part of her when I listen to this.

      That is one of the most beautiful and wonderful qualities of music! Not only can we enjoy the music itself but It dwindles up the memories of our soul and takes us back to moments and feelings we had thought once forgotten. Your wife lives through that piece and probably many others. I am sorry for your loss but also happy that you listened to this and had memories restored. Mr Barton you truly are a gift to us all. Thank you

      ThePhreakass I’m so sorry for the loss of your beloved wife. I feel that although someone may be lost from physical sight, the soul connection is never lost and great music speaks to that connection.🌞

    I seldom comment videos on TH-cam, but this is probably the best interpretation of this Intermezzo I ever heard. It's not just a matter of technical perfection, but rather of touch and musical feeling. These are on my opinion your strengths, where you are different from most pianists who simply play all notes perfectly.

      Couldn't have put it better! There are people who play. Then there are people who PLAY!!! Paul is one of those who doesn't just read the sheet music, he feels it! It's playing from deep down within. It's part of him.

    Is it just me or is this movement not being played as written? I've listened to 3 different performances of this movement so far on TH-cam, and each time the 1st and 9th thirty-second note of each bar are played by the pianist as eighth or dotted sixteenth notes, but not as thirty-second notes as written by Brahms. Is there some license to reinterpret Brahms scores that I'm not aware of?

  • @leoserrrao
    @leoserrrao 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's quite curious how the synthesis between formal structure and melodic/thematic development
    in a lot of Brahms pieces literally resembles the arch of a human life, it's span and the colours inside it. It strikes me every single time I hear this piece, or the Third Symphony, to name a few.
