They aren't exploiting their children like how a lot of weird ppl on the internet do , they are sharing their lives while still keeping a lot of of things private and protecting their kids . The difference is that kids on movies and TV are protected by child labor laws (such as capping the hours they can work, and the fact that they are paid AND their pay is legally protected (can’t be touched by even parents), but kids in family channels are generally not paid (while the parents are) and there is no cap to how many hours they work. If you are reading this I ask one thing of you. Do your research about who is watching these children. How many are sick predators. People with weird para social relationships, teenagers and anyone who is just a normal healthy human……what you will find will disturb you. I don’t know if this family is hiding their head in the sand because of the money they make, but a child can not give informed consent until the brain is fully developed. For most people that’s 18.
And ask yourself questions about camera angles. Eg….when you see someone walk in a room. They literally had to put the camera there, then walk out of the room….and then walk back in. That’s one example. Regardless of how often these families upload it’s for the camera. It’s for money. It’s for attention and validation. I don’t think they are all bad people. I just think the refuse to acknowledge the truth about the dangers of filming your children online. It’s very sad.
And yes, DCP makes fun of peoples appearances. It’s humour. But you turning around and making fun of his appearance is literally the same thing. Who does it first doesn’t matter.

Your piece of the video discussing DCP seems more like a gut punch reaction from y'all. We all know you love your babies, that is incredibly clear. What he has a problem with is making a profit off of loving your kids.
And as y'all said, that is your jobs. Filming you two, and your two children, to make money. The rules around filming your family are dictated by you two, which means that your children's participation in videos is dictated by you two. There is no other facet in life where a two year old would be treated as an adult in their decision making, which is why y'alls reasoning of Jack agreeing to film is not actually a reason.
Children agree to do insane things, and disagree to do safe things essentially all of the time. He has zero knowledge of what a video is, how permanent a video is, or even the concept of how many people know who he is. Y'all take care of your kids very nicely, all of the video proof shows that. But children that are given the necessities of a comfy, loving life can also be exploited. You two use yourself and your children to make money. All facets of your children's lives. While I may not agree with DCP’s methods sometimes, his message is valid. He has said several times that he uses clickbait the same way Family channels do. The difference is that he’s honest about why he does it. To get views. The more views, the more people hearing the dark side of family channels.
I don’t see how anyone could listen to the testimony of the traumatized young adults who grew up on a family channel and not be heartbroken for these kids.
A law needs to be passed similar to the Coogan law for children in these families. Determine the percentage of your content that involves your children. Take that percentage and place that percentage of your earnings into a trust for your children. And don’t even think that these children are within child labor laws. Family channels are not just passively recording their kids living organically. Influencers are constantly claiming that vlogging and making content is hard work. They consider it work. So these kids are working. For free. With no way to give informed consent. To make their parents money…..
    That is textbook exploitation.

      @LpsfudgeandMlpTV ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@easton1354 It's still classed as work though, thats why kids arent reallt on reality TV anymore because filming them without breaking child labour laws is a pain. And besides that in a lot of cases being on camera is an act, the way theure talking to the camera is an over exaggeration, because thats how they keep you interested and build a parasocoal relationship with you and their kids which in itself is wrong. Like do you not think it weird that thousands of people in their comment section are saying how much they love their kids and that they know them and their struggles and the hardships they go through, bevause they don't actually know them, but they know all this information about them. Its like youtubers who say they love you, they don't actually love you because they don't know you 99.9% of the tome they will never meet you and never know who you are but thats the parasocial relationship so you feel like you do, and if adults want to do that, cool thats fine, but children don't realise that there are thousands of people who think they know them, thats how you get stalkers, one family channel had a viewer come to their house and try to kill them. A lot of the time you see family channels move is because people work out where they live because they show their house and the nearby area of where they live, it only takes one person to recognise that or their school and post it online and then a whole bunch of strangers that think they know these kids like their own, to have access to their location with no protection whatsoever. We all had the stranger danger talk, but we never had the talk about the stranger that knows everything about us, our medical history, our school, our hobbies, our families names, our pets, our likes, our dislikes, our favorite food, our friends, but so many strangers know loads of this information about these kids and think they love them, some don't, some are predetors that want to watch them for disgusting things, and thats a whole other issue that these parents know about. Like in 2019, yourube removed the comments on all kids content or content with kids because advertisers foumd out that pedophiles were commenting timestamps of when children looked mosy suggestive or vunerable in videos (mainly from family channels) so then other predators would know where to watch and reshare the images on child pornography webistes. And these parents know this but they still do it, so many of your favorite family channels will show their kids in tight dance wear doing the splits, potty training, in the bath, bra shopping, first time shaving, and look at how many views those videos get compared to most of their other videos because pedos are watching. Why do you think birth vlogs get so many views? "Because there are disgusting people put their who have fetishes for pregnant women and new born babies. And currently with AI people are being deep faked onto the bodeis of porn stars, its already happend to twitch stars, celebs and youtubers, so how long before these kids faces are taken? And that will be put there forever, and the kids will jave to live with the consequences of the choice that their parents made to put them on the internet.
All that and I haven't even covered half of it, whuch should scare you for these kids. I'm sorry, I used to support family vlogging but ine day you have to open your eyes, be honest with yourself and see that it's wrong, its hard to stop watching because of the parasocial relationship you have with them and their kids and they know that which is why so many people defend them as if it was their sister or child, but it's not, in reality, you don't know them at all, probably never will. All that you know is that what they're doing is wrong for so many reasons. So I urge you to stop supporting family channels and any content on social media that heavily features children, because its exploitation, and the kids don't understand or consent to this and don't know that any of this is happening yet.

Yea but then it goes the same for big tv commercials, marketing, every parent, brand, school with social media that posts kids ever. And it takes away from family or friends that aren’t predators who want to be able to see their kids. And not everyone is on a texting basis, it’s a lie and unrealistic bar to be like “oh we’ll just text them” when we don’t even text all of our family members and that’s why social media was created. There’s a difference between exploiting your kids and literally just sharing your life. If you have kids especially more than one it goes without saying they are a major part of your life that you can’t just cut out as easily as cropping a photo. The literal photo shoot that was shown globally for balenciagas kids collection was the epitome of exploitation or serving kids to a silver platter. And yet?? Why did it ever happen to begin with? Who thought that it was okay? That’s the kind of thing that should literally never ever happen or see the light of day. Not literally a family sharing their lives and just breathing. Shame the actual predators who have done something wrong and are wrong, not a family who is living their life and actually caring for their kids.

Nobody says the solution is to take kids out of everything. But there is a difference between seeing a random baby in a commercial (who is anonymous and whose revenue can't just be all used by their parents) and kids on the internet, where we see their lives, we know their real names, DOB, where they live, their health issues, their history from their birth to who knows when. Jack can consent to being filmed, but can't consent to being on TH-cam. He can't and won't understand what that implies for a long time. And I'm not even saying that I'm against kids on TH-cam or anything, I don't know what the solution is, and I don't think people are evil for showing their lives and kids. This is definitely a difficult discussion, but more and more I lean toward the internet isn’t a place for children. There just so many bad people with bad intentions. You have a beautiful family but being Internet personalities your going to get haters and stalkers. That’s something you can’t control.
Throughout our more recent human history with tv, movies, now the internet child stars don’t always have happy lives. This can be for many reasons one being they aren’t afforded the privacy that their peers have. As they grow up the spotlight is always on them. Peers can be mean, adults can be mean and it’s very difficult to grow up that way.
When my son was about 12 years old (over 10 years ago) he told me to stop posting about him on social media. The only social media I had was my Facebook with about 300 followers. But his friend’s parents would see something I said about him and then make comments, the kids would hear and then come to school and tease him.
My son was a gifted athlete, we had a couple haters in the community that would send us hate mail just because they were jealous of his opportunities. Looking back it very well could have been one of those friend’s parents who followed me on social media. We are pretty certain the haters worked for the school district because we had an unpublished address. So they either found it through the school or followed us home.
We got 3 letters of hate about our son from an adult, it’s not only maddening it’s scary. What I’m saying is we are nobody and on a small scale received backlash of hate because of jealousy. This could definitely happen to you and your children multiple times over the next 20 years.
I of course stopped posting about my children when they asked and still don’t post about them on social media. Even though they are adults they should still have the right to choose what goes on social media. It’s not my place to post their accomplishments and falls. So I keep our family very private.
What I worry for you two is yes it’s possible a bad person is watching and doing who knows what with your children’s images but also your kids getting teased. Them getting to be teens and rebelling against you because they aren’t mature enough to understand what your intentions were. Them blaming you for any backlash they receive.
I don’t think there is a solution. With fame comes some pretty ugly stuff. I can tell you are good parents and you love your children but with age comes some wisdom you have no idea what perspective you’ll have 20 years from now looking back.
You have to remember babies in commercials have privacy, children in movies and tv don’t grow up normal and often have to have at least some protection. This means private schools, security and living behind fenced walls. They often rebel as teens and get into trouble, they often feel their parents made money off of them.
Since social media is relatively new we don’t know what the future yet holds for children growing up being filmed. We don’t know the pros and cons. There are just lots of unknowns

No, it's not a "never show children ever again" thing. It's thinking about the long-term impacts this could and does have on children (actors and public figures). You're sharing private things that will be on the internet forever without consent (minors cannot give consent). We've seen it already with other family vloggers. It causes bullying at school. It gives creeps intimate access to your kids, jeopardizing their privacy/security in their own home, which should be their safe space. We've seen what a lot of child actors experienced. None of it is good for healthy growth.
Think of it this way. Would you have wanted your parents to blast your medical conditions or mistakes on the internet for all to see? You know deep down the answer is no. Family videos are meant to be viewed by family, not the whole world.
He got your attention. That's his goal in all of his videos is to get eyes on this dangerous over-sharing epidemic. You may not agree with his method and that's fine. I completely understand that. He is frustrated over the lack of thought that goes into what these videos can and will do to the children in them, and this is how he chooses to bring awareness.
Again, it's not never show your kids. It's don't take away the choice to share private things about themselves. Let them have their autonomy. I can tell you genuinely love your kids. Take a step back and hear the actual message under the snark.

Same here. Snarkiness aside, Josh makes some great points, not just about good parenting, but about how evil it is to make your living from constantly shoving a camera in your kids’ faces when they can’t consent, especially as it’s meant as a pleasure for the entire Internet, and money in their pockets. Exploitation. Period.

I agree. I can't believe there are parents doing this to their kids if they loved them and cared about their privacy these parents wouldn't be filming their kids.

Listen guys, y’all are up in arms about this a bit too much! This a family channel, some channels are adult ones, some are for kids, I think the perspective is lost in translation here. They literally said they film a few HOURS out of each week. Not every day/all day. Also if Jack doesn’t want to, they stop. Sunny is rarely on film, and they film about other things (other family members, friends, their house), the kids account for maybe 30% of each video. Yes they get paid, but that’s the perk for being able to be home and present for their children, i see nothing wrong with that. There are children in movies, commercials, babies even! And they can’t always consent but I don’t see this same argument for them. Like I said perspective is key here, the entire full spectrum of the thing is important. I understand the concern for children and there are some “ick” families out there that need to go away. But the Beestons (both families) are pretty solid. Just my opinion guys! 🤷🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️🫶🏾
