The closest competitor it has is the CFMoto 450SR, glad more 270 degree crank twins are coming out, it's just the superior setup for a more road biased motorcycle.

I think 175Kg weight is the minimum if your're making the maximum A2 power - so Aprilia are brimming that fuel tank to hit that. That ratio is 0.26809bhp/kg (0.2kW/kg) so I guess a little rounding in that Aprilia hp figure or optimistic low wet weight.

I have a 2014 cbr500r love it, but I would definitely wait for this bike to come to the U.S. I'm starting to prefer smaller cc than the larger ones.
I would choose this over the CFMoto or Ninja 400, etc. all day everyday. It’s really nice for what it is.
This bike is certainly one to look forward too! But damn, the z400 is such a blast to ride as well 😁

People are out here enjoying Aprilias daily these days. I know people that ride them and have tested them myself. Do you though boo boo. I have zero interest in the Ninja 400. The R3 is okay though. Still would choose the Aprilia over that too. Sorry not sorry. 😂

Absolutely no reason to buy a Ninja 400 brand new in 2023 onwards. RS 457 and 450SR demolishes the Ninja in everything.
The Chinese bike has Brembo plus other goodies with a price advantage. The 457 is not going to have an easy time.

@MOTOBOB 0:49 you forgot about cf moto 450 ss which has parl twin moter 270 crank like aprilia and has 49 hp and similar weight
He only mentiond A2 class bikes and i think 49 hp is like 1 or 2 over so thats probabley why he didn't mention it.

Do you have a link to this community sounds like a operators error I just clocked a little over 11,600kms as my daily commuter to work and weekend shredder riding in the rain aswell no problems just oil service and chain tension checks changed the rear wheel as I done a burnout on it still running strong I want to post my bike on their community page I got it as soon as it landed in my country

This is great. Originally was going to get a restricted rs660 for my "first" bike (actual first bike is a used z300) but the rs457 will have the same HP for much cheaper. Yes I could wait till I get an unrestricted licence to get an unrestricted rs660 but I might as well go for a liter bike at that point like a rsv4

it be like in-between Pirelli Diablo Rosso II & Metzler M5 Sportech on grip level
the tyre beads are stiff but carcass is soooft so in broken/patchy roads it wont transfer impact to rider, i got spoiled with these

i liked tyre carass which is medium (stiffness) so i can feel the where the tyre is also broken road impact also be felt too-much compared to Eurogrip "Pro torq extreme".
it be just figuring out what Air pressure PSI suit the riding style & ambient temps.

We are talking in context of A2 Licensed motorcycles.
@@maverick457 Exactly, which is why the Cfmoto 450SR should have been mentioned as the most powerful on the A2 class(as far as I'm aware). Funny enough Cfmoto were the first ones to release the engine with 270 degree crank, and now Aprilia followed. And i love the Aprilia, as i have an RS660 myself. But i also have a 450SR and having tried against the Ninja 400, CBR500R as well, it beat them both :)

To people mentioning the CFMOTO 450SR, the Aprillia is lighter wet and has the preload on the front over it, so its not a clearcut performance win for the 450SR as much as I want one.
No it's not lol. the 450SR weighs almost the same as the Aprilia RS 457 wet at 179kg, while making about 3 more HP.
The 450SR-S makes slightly more HP with everything the RS 457 has except for a quick shifter, but makes up for it with a Single sided swing arm and built in GP shift, while only being $300 more than the base model in China (probably same case if released globally)
Both bikes are more or less similar, it just comes down to personal taste on looks and features, given both bikes have a 270 crank, both designed by Italians, just manufactured in a different country.
@@hexadecimal1517 The european spec 450SR doesn't make 50 HP. The CFMOTO EU website lists its max power at 34.5 KW, or 46 horsepower.
Are you talking about power at the wheel or the crank? The ninja 400 makes a claimed 49hp at the crank, to the wheel give or take 43ish

Hi there i love your channel.. ypu explain so good about the bikes.... i've been waiting for Aprilia to come to INDIA from very long time... I canclled atleast 3 motorcycles .. I am beginner SORT of ... but always crazy for motorcycles rather than a car guy.. I have a question... I don’t get why everyone says the Ninja 400 sounds bad. I owned one about 2 years ago and it sounded mean as hell with a leovince slip-on exhaust. Got complimented for it loads of times. It just sounds bad stock but that’s true for like 70% of all modern bikes.
Matter of taste. I'm a car guy so 180deg. inline twin sounds to me like a Subaru which I like. Motorcycle-only fanatics respond well only to V

Hopefully, the Tuareg 500 is coming! The Tuareg 660 should be increased to 750cc. Can't wait!
Its irony we will never satisfy everyone, just like other brand , consumer keep asking more power more upgrade CC engine but still didnt satisfy them, there will be a people asking about upgrade from 660 to 750, from 750 to 850. This is what happen to major manufactured around the world.
They didn't make it any bigger then 660 to save costs because of the Australian market.
Yamahas CP2 has to be sleeved down there because of there license restrictions.

No, I think rs 660 is fine. Aprilia just needs a 3 cylinder, what 893 or something like that in its lineup.
Market demand will dictate. If there is profit to be made, that is where the direction, effort will take. Just saying, there is demand for lighter adventure bikes, on the lines of the Honda cb500x.
2:54 correction:
Cycle World, Road Racing World, Bikewale, CycleNews, TopSpeed, and WebBikeWorld are all quoting that rear tire section to be a 150/60-17.... not a 160/50-17.
Note: The video say it has a 160 rear tire, it actually has a 150. AND also it is beaten in power and weight by the Cfmoto 450ss and comes with winglets and Bluetooth.

Should have smaller twin disc at front for more bulky looks.
I like the front twin disc look way way better plus more stopping power, feel and bite never a bad thing.

Seems cool. Figured they'd just make RS660 A2 instead. Be interesting if they make an SX/RX 457 to compete with CRL300L, KXL300 & DRZ400 but doubt will happen.
I get you man, but truth is it's classic/caferacer time with some touring bikes here and there. Another thing is, just by eyeballing this engine is to wide to sit in narrow bikes.
Put this engine on a light adventure chassis (lighter than the Tuareg) and I'll go for it.

Apache is probably available only in Asia (South Asia, Southeast Asia, Middle East) and Africa. Also probably in South America. But not in Europe and North America.

Hi Bob, I saw news about two cfmoto sport bikes, 500 and 676 it would seem that the 676 may be out of a collaboration with Triumph. Could that be the Daytona sister?. And could that 500 be the RS 457?. The interesting thing about the 500 is that it is a 4 cylinder so maybe the competition of the Ninja ZX4R. I hope you have some news about those two bikes.

I'm hesitating between cbr500r and rs457, I'm afraid of the driving position on the rs457 which seems a little lower than on the cbr. + Aprilia's reliability history is not that attractive..
Overall, everything tells me to choose the rs457, from weight to sound, style and performance; but is it a bike that can be taken easily on roadtrips?

How can you make this video without mentioning the CFMoto 450SR which is its strongest competitor. and I'm sure the Aprilia cost allot more money than the CFMoto or the Ninja especially where I live. I have a Ninja 400 which I really love even though I also have a Ducati 939 Supersport. I love them both for different reasons. and I want to get a slip on exhaust for the Ninja 400 with the nicest sound possible without being loud. I hate loud and obnoxious sounding bikes. any suggestions appreciated ?
